Video: Gazans running phone bank for Obama

posted at 3:34 pm on May 13, 2008 by Allahpundit

I saw this last month, forgot about it, and now Philip Klein’s jogging everyone’s memory in the wake of that Hamas spokesman saying he wouldn’t be opposed to an Obama presidency. Consider this an extreme illustration of that LA Times article I link every time the subject of Obama and Israel comes up: Even in the heart of Hamastan, despite his endless pro-Zionist rhetoric, there’s something about Barry that’s got Palestinians convinced he’s going to do right by them. Maybe it’s the same mindless messianism that informs the American left’s hero-worship of him, maybe it has to do with his exotic ancestry (a possibility acknowledged by Obama himself), or maybe they’re just paying attention to the ever more nuanced proposals his advisors are putting forth by way of a settlement. Only one thing’s for certain: Per the “Obama rules,” this is all just a fearmongering distraction designed to keep us from focusing on the Middle East by, er, focusing us on the Middle East.

Where do they get the money to call to the United States?

BadgerHawk on May 13, 2008 at 3:45 PM

Nice… Why would any American vote for a candidate that is endorsed by Hammas, Jimma Carter, Hugo Chavez and has Palestinians (in a foreign country) working the phones for him. The perfect storm is brewing, folks.

Oh wait, after a second look at the video, I think that it was shot in Dearborn, Michigan.

swami on May 13, 2008 at 3:50 PM

re Obama and Dan Kurtzer and Jerusalem, what I wrote in another thread applies:

All it means is that he’s going to focus on solving the problem, whatever that means, in order to prevent it from infecting our foreign policy. If it’s the most important issue to him, you know what his solution is going to be.

Racist!

well someone had to be first for that

IIRC, some were making a big stink about Reagan being endorsed by the KKK, even though he denounced them.

rbj on May 13, 2008 at 3:53 PM

You know I think I got one of those calls. They almost had me convinced until they ended the call with “Death to America! And deaths to the Joooos!”

That strikes me as a very important question to be answered.

Heh. Good question…

The problem is getting that information to Americans, considering the media’s in Obama’s pocket.

And how many of those myraid of online donations coming in for Obama are actually coming out of Middle East IP addresses?

michaelo on May 13, 2008 at 4:01 PM

Yet another reason not to vote for Senator Obama.

TooTall on May 13, 2008 at 4:01 PM

A vote not for McCain is a vote for Obama. And his supporters.

Gilda on May 13, 2008 at 4:02 PM

What do you expect? The press they get on Obama excludes the issue of apostasy. We go out of our way to parse Obama’s life to fit our values with a predetermined desire to make excuses.

Strictly speaking, Obama was a Muslim until he got to Chicago in his late 20s. Changing religion at that late age is a definite no no.

The moment he does anything pro-Israel, or anti-Islam, he’ll be rejected. The question is whether it will be/could be, worse than for Bush.

While Muslims seem hostile toward Christians and Jews, people of the book have the highest place of all infidels. Polytheists are so low they barely require mentioning (Hindus, Buddhist). But apostates are the lowest.

Any American wouldn’t. Lefties do; being endorsed by Hamas, Carter and Chavez isn’t something they view as a bug, but rather a feature.

Hollowpoint on May 13, 2008 at 4:05 PM

Is that what internet cafe’s look like? Where’s the coffee? Anyhoo, McCain should send these guys money. There’s nothing like getting a call from a Palestinian to sway voters.

Buy Danish on May 13, 2008 at 4:06 PM

I think Hamas, AQ, and a lot of other America-hating groups (including some Europeans) want Obama as President because they recognize that he is naive and inexperienced, and they believe (rightly, IMO) that he’ll be a weak President, in the mold of Jimmy Carter.

Our fault. We’re too quiet. We know they don’t want to hear it, so we should be louder.

Hmmm the video keeps freezing 24 seconds in.

No, it isn’t. A vote for McCain is a vote for McCain. A vote for Obama is a vote for Obama. A vote for Zombie Reagan is a vote for Zombie Reagan.

Besides, there are only a handful of swing states in which your vote actually means anything.

Hollowpoint on May 13, 2008 at 4:14 PM

Comforting.

I had to laugh when I heard the part about calling random Americans to tell them to elect Obama.

Agrippa2k on May 13, 2008 at 4:07 PM

They’re not interested in what any Evil Zionist Rethuglican Neocon Warmonger thinks. We’re talking about crazy people who’d rather have Chavez as President than Bush, and Hamas in Congress rather than Republicans. You might as well try teaching Calculus to a newborn baby.

Besides, haven’t you heard? Chavez is just standing up to the imperialist capitalist aggressors while feeding the poor. Hamas was legitimately elected and resisting Israeli aggression and oppression. Jimmy Carter is selflessly working for peace and standing up for the downtrodden.

Great. Ever consider fixing up your own stinking mess before coming to help with our elections?

Glad to see the boys in Gaza taking a temporary break from blowing up women and children to put in a few calls on behalf of B. Hussein Obama. Niiiiiice.

michaelo on May 13, 2008 at 4:01 PM

Ah, yes. And, how many small donation bundlers have names like Ahmed. We already know they are pretty skilled at the false ID business. And, we know Barry just dumped a campaign advisor because he was caught having talks with Hamas.

Imagine getting a call from one of these guys…

Hello, Mr/Mrs Infidel,

or….

Hello Mr/Mrs Bud Light

swami on May 13, 2008 at 4:49 PM

Hamas spokesman saying he wouldn’t be opposed to an Obama presidency.

Most Americans (except the leftards) could give a rats azz if Hamas approves or disapproves of who we elect as president!

This is OUR nation Hamas and we don’t care what you approve of so KISS MY TYPICAL WHITE AZZ!!

michaelo on May 13, 2008 at 4:01 PM

Hmm. Good question. I wasn’t aware about any law about candidates being able or not able to be funded from outside the US. He has gotten a ton of cash from the internet, from multiple sources compared to Hillary’s larger donations from fewer people – because of campaign finance laws.

If our electoral process is being influenced from outside countries, shouldn’t there be some sort of regulation?

Did anyone else notice when the Palestinian was spray painting “Goodbye Mr. Bush…” that he was spraying black words on top of faint yellow ones that had ALREADY been sprayed?

More of Al Jazeera creating the news?

Who’s the disgusting Bush-hating leftist reporterette in the video?

jgapinoy on May 13, 2008 at 11:02 PM

It will make the Islamofascists hate us even more if we elect an “apostate”–a former Muslim–as President.

jgapinoy on May 13, 2008 at 11:04 PM

Who is the fine young lady at :24? Palestine needs more of those!

Grafted on May 14, 2008 at 9:13 AM

I would be interested in hearing the newsreader explain what is meant by “a just settlement”.

Our election seems to be honing in on race and racism as valid issues. It seems that the growing worldwide acceptance of anti-Semitism is off-limits in these discussions.

Why?
