MS-NBC out-bikinis Fox by skipping the bikinis

All right, fair’s fair. Two weeks ago, I tweaked Fox News for kicking off Sweeps Month by giving us an in-depth report on a teacher who moonlighted as a bikini babe on a charter boat and got fired from her day job. It turned out that the teacher got terminated for attendance, but it gave Fox an opportunity to show lots of skin.

It’s still Sweeps Month, though, and MS-NBC decided to outdo Fox. How does a news organization top a bikini fest? Take a look to find out (definitely Not Safe For Work, via the News Junkie):

How lame is this? HBO did a documentary on Spencer Tunick eight years ago, so his life project of photographing naked people en masse hardly qualifies as cutting edge or breaking news. It’s not even particularly compelling; after the first couple of times one sees an ad hoc nudist colony, the concept loses its appeal, especially considering the volunteers Tunick attracts.

And if MS-NBC didn’t grab you with mass nudity, then their explosive report on boob-job websites might do the, er, trick. Perhaps this is a good time to run this JibJab classic:

While I couldn’t get the video to work here at HA, I did follow the link to NewsJunkie and saw and I have to ask… what am I missing? I couldn’t see anything in that video. You becoming some kind of prude on us AP? I mean, you’re right, it’s NSFW… but outside of that, I think the bikini pics are way more provocative than this.

Awesome Jib Jab! I couldn’t watch the first one, being at work and all. I’ll have to watch it at home later.

I tried the NewsJunkie link and it worked. Sorry, I couldn’t see much there, they were too far away. I guess this is what you would call the news, right?

Last time I was at Hooters the girl waiting on me was going to be on the calendar and she asked me if I knew any good places for her to get bikinis. She said she needed 6 for the shoot. I should have told her to try MSNBC. But really, W O W on all accounts. Thank God for hot bikini women!

Typically, the only people to show up are the ones you don’t want to see naked anyways.

Offtopic, look who has a cult following in WV.

That door thing still pisses me off. Sneaky f’ing Chinese.

I love the Bush avatar in the JibJab films.

The Fox story on the Bikini teacher was way worse in terms of inappropriate content being shoved down our throats. I used to keep a small TV on at the office with news… those days are long gone.

Problem is, about 90% of the population, in most countries, nobody wants to see naked. Brazil is better, but still, about 80% you really don’t want to see naked. Age, long hours at work, bad genes, and too many snacks is a brutal combination in most cases.

What are all the liberals gonna do when they don’t have Bush to beat up on anymore and they actually have to take credit for all the f-ups since they control everything?

I agree with most of the jibjab video. What I disagree with is them saying to news anchors of yesteryear had integrity - BS. Uncle walter to me had none, especially on his proclamations about the Tet Offensive. And the news broadcasts of the “big 3″ have always been slanted to the left.

To be fair, Fox News covered this story also.

Yeah, I rank Cronkite well up there with the worst of the worst of activist journalists. He contributed about as much to America’s defeat as Ho Chi Minh, and at least the latter was honest about which side he was on.

Blacklake on May 13, 2008 at 6:09 PM

The mass-nude thing was a total sausage-fest.
Who wants to see that?

A thousand college cheerleaders and coyote ugly bartenders is one thing. A thousand hippie dudes tossing their packages at chicks with armpit hair is quite another.

Haha, I know, and that was really just meant to be giving a little jazz to AP (when I thought he wrote the post), but I do stand by the point that I honestly think the bikini thing from Fox was more revealing. I didn’t see much in these distant shots, but that bikini chick’s goodies were all over the place.

I lost track again. Is there anything that isn’t art?

snaggletoothie on May 13, 2008 at 10:01 PM

Ed, thanks for the Jib Jab piece, as Madisen noted, Bush is great!
