Heart-ache: High-school student banned from prom for skimpy dress

The boss, being a good mom, is outrageously outraged by the choice of attire. Granted, it’s tacky, but certainly no more revealing than a bikini. Dare I say it, but if America’s daughters aren’t allowed to dress like prostitutes then the terrorists have already won. Exit question: What large percentage of the overwhelmingly male, anti-Islamist HA readership is with me?

Forget her slutty dress, who the hell taught her the English language?!
She’ll never go far in life if she can’t even make her subjects and verbs agree. Her voice just screamed “I’m completely ignorant” the entire time. ‘We was doing this and I axed them a question about that and what they was doing about dat.’ I guess it’s easier to graduate high school these days…
Good God.

This stunning outfit will now catch on all over the nation, and men will rightly rejoice.

She might as well have gone nude. But at least she has the body for it.

Amen!

Looked hideous in daylight, but not bad in the photo. If the skirt had been a little longer, with the dress ‘covering up’ at the rear it might, might have managed to have a little bit of class. But anyhoo. One wonders what the parents thought. Whatever happened to ‘you’re not going out dressed like that!’

She’s does not have the right accessories without 5 inch spiked heal shoes.

If she wants to dress like a hooker what’s the problem?
Ares on May 14, 2008 at 5:01 AM
I’m sorry, the card says ‘moops.’
James on May 14, 2008 at 7:38 AM
If she wants to be a hooker, she is going to have to work on her grammar. It hurts my ears to hear her talk!
gridlock2 on May 14, 2008 at 7:42 AM
Gee whiz, what’s the big deal? Their mothers dress them like whores, they watch (and try to emulate) what they see in the “entertainment” industry, they’re indoctrinated in sex in the first grade, and they’re taught how to use condoms. Everything is geared to eliminating any trace of modesty in young women because “modesty” is a repressive white middle class concept. I think this young woman should be congratulated, she has learned her lessons well.
Was she valedictorian?

I’m not “with you”. I’m going to generalize here, and take a lot of crap for this but, it’s the truth. (Good clean valued black people can feel proud knowing I’m not talking about them) This is another example of some black people “lowering the bar”, so as to not feel/look….well…whatever it is that pisses them off about white people that makes them say ” I ain’t conforming to THAT” (which in some cases…is pretty much everything). This is a perfect example of how we are devolving. I say that, because there is no way you can convince me for every one of these girls refused, we have MANY more that weren’t (and worse going on). Now, to take a bite out of the butts of white folks (Good clean valued white people can feel proud knowing I’m not talking about them), for every black person hanging their pants down below their butts to show us their sexy stained boxer shorts. apparently, there are many more white people ready and more than willing to emulate that. In my opinion, the white folks are WORSE!, because copying bad (or any kind of)behavior takes even less thought than creating it! (in my opinion). What a toilet we live in today…a true toilet!. I’ll bet she sues! she is mad that she doesn’t have her “professional” prom pictures in her hooker clothes!!! WTF!
eplain on May 14, 2008 at 8:00 AM
What about the flip-flops she was wearing? If I was the school I would focus on the safety factor when defending myself against the lawsuit, stating that she could have gotten hurt with no foot protection.
Will there be a suit? Having lived in Georgia for 30 years, I know the drill: “Girrrrl, who you talkin’ to? Don’t even axe me dat querstion! Dat girl at da prom all up in my face tellin’ me I look like some street ho– don’t you diss me like dat! You gonna pay! Just like I had to pay to get that dress special design, and da fabrick color bein’ urnge made it even more classy! And now you all up in here tellin’ out dat it ain’t classy ’nuff? I’m gonna get all up in your Cheerios just like you did mines! Mmmmm Hmmmm. So get yo face outta my bidness! Mmmm Hmmm, if you don’t know you bettah ask someBODY!”

Fuh-Knee stuff! (and I was afraid how I was going to sound!)

The only accessory that is missing from this outfit is the coin change machine on her waist full of quarters.

After a quick scan of the multitude of comments, I have to wonder – am I the only one who saw that “tattoo” on her right upper chest? Or is it a birthmark. If a birthmark, never mind! If a tattoo, the dress is only a logical continuation of her slide into sluttiness. Thank God my daughter is more sensible.

Axe me about Ebonics. ;)

Nope. I saw it. its just that its so common today, that NOT having a tattoo is more shocking.
eplain on May 14, 2008 at 10:32 AM
Am I the only person who thinks this is stupid? She wore a tacky dress, her bad parents didn’t care and her school said no way. Her dress isn’t different than a bikini or dresses worn at the Oscars and I’m with Allahpundit on this one. She’s likely 18 and if she wants to dress like a stripper than I say it’s her right as an American to do so.
Is this an example of good choices? probably not, but I once tried to open a condiment bottle with a steak knife (three stiches)and smoked clove cigarettes for years. Bad choices both but they were mine to make.
I’ve seen chick wear less and hopefully they outgrow such nonsense. But making national news of this is asinine and I think what really lowers the bar in this country is the finger wagging scoldery that distracts “Conservatives” from important issues like getting the G.O.P.back in shape to stop the Democrats from turning us into Venezuela.
And are we really upset because she has a tattoo? Should we just issue her a burqua so that your delicate sensibilities aren’t offended?
Rob Taylor on May 14, 2008 at 11:48 AM
stupid? yes. but may I retort?…shes not at the beach OR the Oscars. Do i think she should have been blocked from the event? well, if thats what the principel felt, then yes, it’s his call and God bless him. I think this thing here is a “slippery slope” issue.(btw-Did you see Fox news this morning? how the kid in the military could’nt wear his dress blues to his graduation ceremony? I agreed with that decision as well…slippery slope again)In this case, she got a lesson she wouldnt get at home apparently. good for them! Regarding the tattoo? no one was offended, just commenting. The burqua? wow, extremes in both directions. What happened to sensibility, shame, and common sense? Regardng “getting the GOP back in shape”- well, politicians are more whorish than SHE is in my opinion. No hope there, just more BS to look like they are “back in order” so they will get in for four more years…ahhh….what a bunch of crap.

No, it’s about the pornification of our young girls. I’m not a Muslim nor am I offended by the female body. When parents start sending their teenage girls out looking like porn stars and hookers, then wonder why the get an STD or pregnant, they have only themselves to blame. If it’s ok to dress like a hooker, who’s to say it’s not ok to act like one?
In my day (a long time ago, true) girls were worried about their reputations. They dressed modestly until the 70’s came in with the braless look. It’s been downhill ever since. Now young girls and a lot of young boys dont know what modesty means. I guess reputation is a non-issue these days.
This girl is a reflection of her parents and their upbringing of her.

The culture war is just part of it. Get the GOP back in shape? Phooey on that – get the country back in shape. The GOP has done nothing to stop or even slow the down hill slide this country has been in in the last 40 years. I expect that from liberal democrats but I expect better from conservative Republicans.
abcurtis on May 14, 2008 at 12:24 PM
I dont know – maybe you are. The bottom line is the so-called “conservative” republican party has let the young people in this country down by not taking a stand in the culture war over the last 40 years.
I dont want to see ANY young girl walking around looking like a hooker/porn star. Why does she feel she has to draw attention to herself this way? Does she have nothing positive in her life, nothing from her parents?
No, I would not want my daughter to walk around looking like this girl, and if she did I’d consider myself a failure as a parent and take steps to correct both her and myself.
abcurtis on May 14, 2008 at 12:28 PM
She doesn’t have a right to dress like this. The prom is a school event, and thus school rules apply. This includes the dress code. The school has the right to decide what is or is not appropriate in both dress and behavior, and can ask anyone not complying to leave. Frankly it is part of the school’s responsibility to ensure all students attending dress in an appropriate manner, and in this case they were acting in the responsible manner most parents wish was prevalent in schools.

She should have been arrested,… she admits to “axing” the sponsor, before saying “what’s your problem?”

There are interesting comments here. I for one say that in America, the idiots are more than free to make asses out of themselves at every opportunity. And truth be told, idiots will breed and raise more idiots. For the rest of us, raise your children right and they may yet be the saviors of this country. As it stands it looks like we are headed for the same fate as the movie “Idiocracy”
Zorg on May 14, 2008 at 1:38 PM
She’s cute and I wouldn’t have minded dating her 25 years ago, but that ain’t no prom dress and I wouldn’t have taken her to the prom looking like that. The whole point of a prom is that you get to dress up and pretend, for a couple of hours, at least, that civilization matters and there is more to the relation between the sexes than just sex. Proms are all about formality, courtship and manners. Maybe those things don’t mean as much as some of us think they do but, if that’s so, why have a prom at all?
Incidentally, I don’t think Michelle comes off so much outraged. She asks a really good question: where were the adults in this girl’s life? If we are going to stand up for civilization, we need to come up with a better response than “kids these days are out of control”. That is Sixties-style defeatism based on the belief that people are basically animals. Kids can be taught manners and it is adults that need to do the teaching. But it doesn’t happen by accident, and it doesn’t happen at all if the adults themselves don’t know what good manners are for.

$100 says someone dressed like that visits the Marriot every night of the year. Sometimes more frequently on busy nights and for conventions.
