McCain is not a conservative. He is catering to independents and libs/dems…no reason to vote for him ever!

Except that we are fighting two wars, and if you don’t vote for him we will lose at least one and likely both wars.

There’s something disturbing about the propensity for people to behave this year as if it were a peacetime election. It’s not.

Let’s put this guy on a horse with Ron Paul, and let them fight windmills on Nantucket with Ted Kennedy and John Kerry.

But Hot Air-heads shouldn’t waste their votes on this guy. We need to put the brake on Barack, and McCain is the only man who can do it. He needs all the help he can get.

The reality of an ongoing war is not going to magically disappear with abstract concepts about ridding yourself of guilt come election day…

Has he met with the Cato Institute Board?

Has he granted Reason Magazine an interview?

Has he offered to address the upcomming Libertarian Party convention in Denver? Or, even to get a hospitality suite?

Has he approached the Republican Liberty Caucus, who would be most open to his advances?

Has he offered to appear on libertarian radio shows like “Libertarian Politics Live”, on Blog Talk Radio, or even Neal Boortz, or Larry Elder?

McCain and his team have done nothing to earn libertarian support.

He’s got one last chance: He could appoint a libertarian VP like Sarah Palin of Alaska, Butch Otter of Idaho, fmr. New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson, or someone acceptable to libertarians like Gov. Mark Sanford of SC.

Without that, he risks losing the entire libertarian voting bloc, including Libertarian Republicans, to Bob Barr and the Libertarian Party this year.

Another eight years of Clinton. Another weakening of the military. Another (three) liberal Supreme Court justices. Another try at socialized healthcare. Another tax increase. The list goes on and on…

He needs to lose the ’stache. I don’t think you can run for the nation’s highest office with that kind of facial hair. In fact, I almost want to see him from behind to make sure he’s not going hippie with a pony tail.

Well lets see here genius. As it stands now the government can silence your freedom of speech with a “National Security Letter” which it has been found to abuse recently. Sneak and peak searches and no more habeas corpus. Eminent domain. Warrants are passe and all oversight is done internally, by the same kind of people who committed perjury and told us Saddam could attack us in 45 minutes. Of course with the warrantless wiretapping program they tried to seek congressional approval and were told that wouldn’t fly, so they just said that they could do it anyway, read Alberto’s first press conference on it for insight into that one.

What you’re saying has a lot of merit.

I’m surprised that more conservatives haven’t turned in the direction of Barr and Henry Hyde. Both cite all the above as greater threats to the nation and constitution than nutjobs from the Middle East. When it comes to taking a strong position against big government and keeping the feds at bay, if conservatives don’t take a stand, who will?

Maybe because he’s a liberal? Maybe because he indicated we were racist because we want our damn laws enforced? Maybe we believe in free speech? Maybe because we believe global warming is a crock?
