Cambodia was not armining the NVA and Viet Cong nor actively participating in the conflict. The US attacks on Cambodia were attacks on bases – sanctuaries – used by the NVA and Viet Cong. Part of the Ho Chi Min trail ran through Cambodia and Laos.

Cambodia’s stated policy was neutrality until 1969 when Prince Norodom Sihanouk declared them NVA/VC no longer welcome in Cambodia. Nixon used that policy change to begin the bombing campaign but did not disclose it publicly.

The analogy today would be attacking AQ basis in Waseristan w/o prior approval of the Pak Government.

The Bush administration needs to put more pressure on Iran, but launching air strikes into Iranian territory would only bolster the mullahcracy’s grip on power.

This bit of conventional wisdom is not persuasive. The mullahs are not on the verge of being toppled. There is no serious campaign to oust them. Therefore one should accept they will hold on to power and act on that basis.

I’ve come to admire Joe L. Heck, a choice between Joe and John would be almost a tossup. (And either would be infinitely better than Borat Barak or Billary.)

If Lieberman wasn’t a pro-abortion hack, I would vote for him. Cambodia didn’t float bamboo fishing boats over and ram them into Fisherman’s Wharf. That would have been the biggest military strike they were capable of. It’s amazing that these big brains don’t get the significant differences between the Vietnam era and the current war when it comes to how easily we can be hit, and it could be nuclear or biological. This time the Dems can’t just leave behind our allies to suffer genocide since we’ll get hit right after it.

He might have been a slow learner, but al-Maliki has become our best friend in limiting Iran’s ambitions to set up a pan-Shia superstate. Al-Sadr’s goons have managed to turn the Iraqi Shiites against him much as al Qaeda turned the Sunnis against them. This is no longer Shi’ite vs. Sunni, it’s Babylon vs. Persia, and Babylon is now our ally.

What is the problem with red lasso? It worked fine at first – now it is next to worthless.
