PaulD...it just goes to show that if the news is hot, they cover it. (There must be a bi-polar aspect to the left's news coverage as well). They may be deep-sixing Obama 'cuz they see how much water he's taken on. Heck, they may want to elect McCain because, not only did they choose him, they have grown so used to blaming the 'Repub' president that they can't bear to help bring about the massive chaos that an Obama administration would produce.
Even the 'fair and balanced' FNC covers the most gratuitous murders, scandals, and celeb 'news' just because they know that millions of us would rather know about all that than the real news, (actually, some of it IS dangerous to your health). For this reason, I watch

Yea, pots and kettles are bangin' against each other in the breeze of the hot, moist air MSNBC puts out as they get thrills running up the legs of their dasheekis. (That isn't the right term, but it makes the point,(?)

I've asked it before and didn't get a response but I would like to know how MSNBC is considered so awful by Obama supporters and is simultaneously considered as totally pro-Obama by others.

They have been as obsessive in their coverage of his gaffes and the reverend Wright frenzy as any network on TV. I'm just curious to hear people's take on this.

BTW, it is truly a LOL moment when Abrams says, "...feign objectivity...". That could have been a key moment in any comedy program skit. I can't imagine a better 'pot calling the kettle black' type of analogy. It could have only been made better if Abram's was actually cognizant of his comment's hypocrisy.

In my book, Fox is well within its rights to fire the young lady. In order to defend itself against allegations of partiality, it must uphold the standards that the media is supposed to espouse. This was not an opinion piece/program, but a news reporter (unlike some of the examples given, such as Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, et al). As such, the standard is raised.

By holding themselves to this standard, they can then rightfully slam the other networks for their partiality and fawning over liberal candidates/causes by their reporters and pundits (because other networks such as MSNBC are dominated by far left-leaning libs). It is not lost on me that MSNBC is being hypocritical, but this reaction allows Fox to lead by example and then turn to the other networks and demand the same. In the end, Fox seems to be on higher ground with more integrity (although I feel sorry for the reporter that lost her job).

I followed his recommendation and visited verdict.msnbc.com and gave them a tip. Here's what I wrote, I doubt anyone at MSNBC will read it:

On Friday's Beat the Press you slammed Fox News very hard about the young reporter saying she voted for McCain in the primary. I find it incredibly ironic and hypocritical that ANYONE from MSNBC has the balls to make such a claim when it is painfully obvious to the world that MSNBC is in the tank for Obama. Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann... for crying out loud these guys are practically gay for Barack and their comments back me up. ONLY Fox News has given air time to all of the candidates and ONLY Fox News lets both sides of a story get reported. When was the last time Keith interviewed anyone that he disagreed with? Has he ever done that? Even CNN allows for alternative viewpoints more than MSNBC.

Your baseless comments during this segment have done more to invalidate your legitimacy as a reporter than anything said on Fox News. Sadly, your liberal bent makes it impossible for you to even comprehend the idea that you might be wrong. Conservatives embrace dialog and debate based on facts and data while Liberals like you deal only with emotions while stifling anyone that you disagree with.

Enjoy your airtime while you can.

Sure, Fox tilts to the right… Alan Colmes, Jerry Rivers, & Greta Van Susteren notwithstanding.
The “Balanced” is that they balance all of the liberal bias of NBC, MSNBC, CBS, CNN, PBS, & NPR.

jgapinoy on May 10, 2008 at 11:29 PM

Fox tilt to the right is just a slight tilt which even some on the left have become to appreciate. My brother and sister-in-law were big supporters of Hillary and donated to her campaign. Despite being on the left, they discovered that Fox was the only network that was fair to her. While I doubt that the Hillary Dems will resist the Kossack's Fox bashing, they will entertain private doubts.

That was the most hypocritical thing I've ever seen in my entire life. Fox actually fired this woman-- the equivalent at MSNBC would have been to give her her own show.

It the implication of your headline is that MSNBC is more biased than Fox then I'd say you're shutting your ears and not listening. Even with the old meme about Matthews being in the tank for Obama, Abrams himself just aired an hour long special specifically about Wright, something Fox hasn't even done yet. One thing I notice about all of the charges of bias from MSNBC is that almost all of them (Save comments from Olbermann and his typical grandstanding) end in February.

And as for Matthews, what's funny is that you pretend he hasn't and doesn't continue to have similar man-crushes on those on the right. Have you listened to him prattle on about how heroic and amazing your boy John is?

The guy follows up a FOX new impartiality bashing with an Obama smooch up piece. This is something you might see as a joke on SNL, only it’s not.

Doesn't abrahms heavy breathing over the barry video show partiallity?

Hey, why isn't this liberal reporter get fired for being an activist, or NBC's Meredith Viera who marched in a war protest??

In addition to giving $500 to Democratic congressional candidate Jim Esch, Omaha TV reporter Calvert Collins posted a photo of the two of them on her Facebook page, saying, "Vote for him Tuesday, Nov. 7!" She says her father wrote the check, and she was just building rapport with candidates.

There's other fine examples of liberal media members political activism as well.

bayam
Sure, Fox tilts to the right… Alan Colmes, Jerry Rivers, & Greta Van Susteren notwithstanding.
The “Balanced” is that they balance all of the liberal bias of NBC, MSNBC, CBS, CNN, PBS, & NPR.

Not to mention the exorbitant amount of air time given by FNC to people like Bob Beckel, Kirsten Powers, Lanny Davis and so on....

I agree with her getting the boot. She was holding a FOX news mike while sucking up to Maverick...What did she expect? If FOX hadnt of fired her, the network would be doing exactly what MSNBC does in its daily Obama circle j*rk. FOX isn't going to sacrifice it's #1 ratings over some gushy...and expendable, 20 something...

She was a PA -- the person who gets lunches -- now a journalist. It's not evidence of insitutional bias but that they need to have higher standards for whom gets to hold the mic.

Also.. he followed a story about how Fox is biased and only feigns objectivity with video of the press swooning over Obama in his designer jeans and he didn't notice the irony? What a tool.

Wow.

Dan Abrams acts/looks/thinks like he's Keith Olbermann's younger cousin. Dan Abrams talking about Fox News lack of objectivity (in Dan Abram's opinion) is like Keith Olbermann suggesting that 'we as a nation need to rise above partisanship.' As everyone mentioned earlier, Chris Matthews tingling up his leg for Obama and comparing Obama to Abraham Lincoln, this Dan Abrams attacking Fox News with such a smug look on his face makes me want to spit in their face if I ever got the chance.

Sorry. Got a little Geraldo there for a moment. Sorry.

The only honest and appropriate word to describe Olbermann or Abrams is d**ch*b*g. And I mean that in the most sincere as I can possibly convey it.

repeat statement learned by years of observation.

If a Democrate charges somone with a action then the Democrats either: 1)Have done it themselves, 2) Are doing it themselves, or 3) Intend to do it themselves soon.
