My calculation is she is aiming at 2012.
Acid test there would be if she agreed to be Obama’s VP.
I say she won’t. The theory is that McCain would defeat
any ticket containing Obama, that leaves Hillary free to try
again in 2012. She needs to finish as strongly as possible,
so she can say she told us so,
she’ll be back.

So what? McCain will do amnesty in the first 100 days. Difference is, Obama isn’t representing my party, or expecting my vote. It would be nice if the GOP nominee actually would represent a few of the party planks. As it is, amnesty from a Dem president has a higher chance of being fought by a GOP minority in Congress than one from McCain. See rewarding a backstabber with a promotion is kind of an enticement for others in the party to exercise their middle fingers to the base as well. No, I’d rather take my chances with a Dem president.
Now where are the McCain scolds? The cheerleaders to tell the non McCain voters how stupid they are for not toeing the line. Chakra took a half hearted swipe but nothing like the good frothy anger you normally find in these threads. Then again, calling the moderator names isn’t a good long term strategy. Same goes for voters. Sad that McCain never figured that out.

McCain, has said secure the border first before any Amnesty, he has learned from the last time. Also he is the only one talking about bio-metric ID’s and better systems..

(I personally believe the VISA needs to be addressed and fixed, the way it is now, it is not secure, for guests, students, or “workers”)

I thought more about it now and I’m still supporting McCain.

Immigration will continue to be a major controversy until Congress passes legislation that does something. I want to see a pure border enforcement bill. The only way that gets through Congress is a strong grassroots campaign.

McCain might prefer an amnesty bill, but he would sign a border enforcement bill. That’s better than Hillary or the Amazing Obama.

Must confess this attitude really frosts me. As someone pointed out already, NY doesn't always go blue. We voting NY Repubs aren't stupid. But. If juuusst enough Dems get cocky and stay home and juusst enough Repubs stop saying "foregone conclusion" then one of these election days it will tip enough and we'll win the day. It only takes one day. NOTHING will keep me from the polls on election day. You just don't know for sure what will happen. Especially this year. Repubs too lazy to even try? New ringtone: "Shame on you, lazy voters!"

I think I have an idea: I’m going to get some clothespins, stamp “McCain” on them, and sell them on the internet. Clothespins on the nose will leave both hands free: one to vote, one to hold the beer/airline ’sick’ bag.

Chelsea has the potential to be the vessel of a perfect storm of genetic material and nurturing.

I for one don’t want to take that chance and would sleep much easier at night if she’d start having babies and moved to Montana to try her hand at ranching.
