Not that there was any doubt after his putrid mugging through “Helter Skelter,” but here’s confirmation at last that even Mike Gravel regards his candidacy as a third-rate joke. File this away with that Bob Dole/Britney Spears Pepsi ad as examples of formerly esteemed geriatrics who decided to gross us all out by scoping out women young enough to be their granddaughters.
On the upside, they did somehow manage to find him a partner who’s polling worse than he is.

While looking on the web for his birthdate I found a wesbite called, “Old is the New Black” dedicated to Gravel.

Gravel had the decency to leave the Democrat party recently and is now a member of the Libertarian party. Ron Paul used to be a member of that party but realized he could only get elected as member of the Republican party.

If Ron Paul actually had enough sense to be self-deprecating and mock himself once in awhile – and skip the oh-so-deadly seriousness of his blimpageness – he’d probably win the thing.
