Adding that election to the already scheduled primaries for those two dates wouldn’t add any additional cost to the states.
They would simply have to print a new ballot.

Michigan and Florida taxpayers already paid for primaries. Any additional costs should be paid by the Dems so the above statement is idiotic unless printing costs nothing.

That being said, it is highly unlikely that ballots have yet to be printed (or programmed) at this point in the process. If the Dems want to wait until the last minute and make Florida and Michigan votes meaningful it probably wouldn't cost any more. The real question, IMO, is if the Dems are certain enough of the outcome at this point to gamble that such a vote so close to or during the convention would resolve the conflict or just fan the flames. Liberals and Democrats are, by nature, craven cowards and they will be unwilling to make the gamble.

"These our witness, Aunty. Us suffer bad. Want justice. We want Thunderdome!"

Two pols enter; one pol leaves. My money is on Barry if the fight stays upright. But if it goes to the mat, odds favor the Hill with a tap-out producing thigh lock.

Just imagine the following:

1 - No Hillary, no Hussein. Just one nominee.

2 - No Internet, no Cable News. Just local and 6:30 p.m. news.

3 - No problems from China, Russia, Al Qaeda, North Korea, Venezuela, Syria, Iran and Cuba.

Imagine.

Just like life used to be in the Soviet Union.

Operation Chaos will have trouble in Florida because of our registration having to be done so far in advance. I don’t think you’d make it back to Republican for the general if you switched for that primary.

I thought party afiliation only mattered in the primaries. What trouble would it cause for a Republican to be registered as a Democrat come the general election?

Here's how I think it'll come down. They'll seat the delegations. However when it comes to a vote, they just won't call on Michigan for their vote totals. If it doesn't alter the results, they will call on Florida (which had both names on the ballot), to only have people from one state upset. They'll do what it takes to buy less sullen faces from the Michigan delegation. All will be happy again and that nasty old disenfrancisement issue will go away.

I second the motion. All in favor…

Nay. McCain's good and my guy Giuliani won't stand a chance.

McCain-Giuliani would torque off too much of the base. I also don't want a staid VP - I want a colorful, energetic "minority" VP to challenge the Democrat Party. Pamela Geller sounds good.

So, you could potentially have the Recreate 68 folks running wild in Denver while voting chaos breaks out in Florida a la November 2000 (except this time it would happen on election day on the assumption by both sides that both the recount and its execution are unfair).

Question - Do the Denver miscreants wait for the Florida results before going nuts, or do the Florida miscreants wait for their cue from Denver?

Both groups will be fighting to earn the right to wear those Che T-shirts.

Why not?

Yeah, baby - keep fighting.

Senator McCain, just keep doing what you're doing.

McCain-Geller, McCain-Malkin or McCain-O'Sullivan sounds good right about now to seal the deal. Yes, the running mate has to be female.

Not unexpected. Hillary will not let go of Florida and Michigan.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...a "do-over" in either of those states has to be a "do-over" for both parties because Democrats changed party to vote in the Republican primary and have now switched back. Allowing those voters to vote twice (in both the Republican and Democrat primaries) is illegal. Either don't seat the delegates, or do a "do-over" for both parties. You can't have your cake (McCain wins Florida with Democrat support) and eat it too (Hillary gets to seat the delegates).

In 2-3 weeks Obama will likely cross the 2025 threshold he needs for the nomination, just before the meeting about seating the Florida/Michigan delegates. It's unlikely they'll do anything to undermine him if he pulls that off, especially if it gets heavy play on the news (Which it will). Anything that threatens him not being the nominee after that will not be considered.

I guess CNN is gonna front the States the money to do this. After all, it was their goofy idea.

Makes sense. CNN can tabulate the expense as a political contribution, and will benefit with appreciative public opinion in those states where the Democrats lost their vote to Howard Dean's upstairs politics.

Any way we could get them to use those ballots that produce the hanging chads?

My collie says:

Just imagine the following:

1 - No Hillary, no Hussein. Just one nominee.

2 - No Internet, no Cable News. Just local and 6:30 p.m. news.

3 - No problems from China, Russia, Al Qaeda, North Korea, Venezuela, Syria, Iran and Cuba.

Imagine.

Imagine that life on Earth is peaceful, imagine that the main headline news is "John is fixing his roof."

Imagine.

Life would have been so boring for the American people and the rest of the world for that matter.

Aren't you excited that we live in a turmoiled world?

Enjoy!

I actually heard this on Fox I think yesterday. I'm pretty sure it was a Hillary supporter. A big wig of some sort but I didn't pay attention.

We need to prepare by publishing the Florida by-laws regarding re-registering as Democrats.

You know, to make sure our voice is heard.

Adding that election to the already scheduled primaries for those two dates wouldn’t add any additional cost to the states.

They would simply have to print a new ballot.

Wow! Printing new ballots is free!!! What a deal! I guess CNN is gonna front the States the money to do this. After all, it was their goofy idea.
