<strong><em>"What Life is Like Growing up in an Intellectual Bubble"</em></strong>

Come on, anyone who's seen that Coke commercial with the cute baby Polar Bear sliding down a hill and coming to a stop at the feet of a herd of penguins knows that they coexist.

Her father, David, a renowned explorer... what? Only English upper crust types could wear that title without batting an eye. She must have been given a Laura Croft lunch box to take to her prep school and it just got out of control. Sort of like a Trapper Keeper gone all wrong. Give me a break.

She had to leave England to learn how to fire a gun that could save her life since it's almost impossible, even for the daughter of a world renowned explorer, to ever be able to do that there. But, she figures she would hug the Polar Bear instead. Probably because she thinks they are all like the Coke commercial bears. You know, the ones that don't eat all the penguins they find lying about on the ice floes.

And what's the big deal about 40 below? I used to watch Vikings games before the dome when it was 40 below. Suck it up explorer girl. They sure don't make daughters of world renowned explorer's like they used to.

Before she left she "didn't care"? But now that she has experienced the sight of miles and miles of snow and ice, the importance of it all became clear to her. ...huh? Then why, or better, who set up the whole documentary idea? Did she not know? Did they threaten to leave her up there holding the flag pole while the rest of the team hiked back to England? Call child protective services!

And for the Grande Finale... she explains that the biggest problem is (hold on to your seats, this is soooo cute...)that her "Bum" can freeze if she can't drop her fur lined panties fast enough, pee fast enough and pull up her fur fast enough to keep from having icicles form. Well, I kind of paraphrased there, but you get the idea.

hey... let go of my cheek!

But as an Alaskan, in the frozen North. I get the "Penguin" question more then I care to name, what is better is the Polar Bear question (I am a little far south for Polar Bears). It has gotten to the point where I say to the tourists... "Yep, I saw a Penguin last night... and he was might tasty!" They get the idea and feel foolish for asking.

As for the Polar Bear question... hehehe (I am evil I tell you), I tell them to get on the Glenn Hwy, got north until you get to Fairbanks then take a left at the Fox town exit and Keep going. Should only take 2 hours. BTW the town of Fox is 10 hours south of Prudhoe Bay, if you want to drive fast on the Dawson Hwy (which is mostly hard packed dirt). But some stupid tourist actually listened to me and then came to yell at me the next day when they figured out I was pulling their leg. What fools!

Michelle Kosinski is having yet another bad day in Seacacus, New Jersey.

Better give her a third chance to get these stories right.

I just want to know what the lead singer from Cheap Trick is doing in that video. Compare 1:15 into the video to 0:40 into <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCDpFLAEIR4" rel="nofollow">THIS</a> video. Anyone seen the two of them together? I think not!

Sure the Penguins go to the North Pole to get some sun. It has been too cold down south so they went North for the milder Climate during the so cold Winter months down south. The MSM would never lie to the people. They just caught some vactioning Penguins having some fun.

Yes, it was Surface Stations Org that nailed NASA the first time they got caught distorting the temperature record. NASA blamed the whole thing on a Y2K bug of all things.
I know I remember a Bugs Bunny cartoon where Bugs helped bring the baby penguin back to the North pole. If Bugs can do it then why not ms-nbc. Oh wait - I think when they got there he found out it was supposed to be the South Pole.

Has anyone mentioned or reference this site before?

http://www.surfacestations.org/

This site records the physical location of weather stations in the U.S. These stations are use to record the temperatures that are then used to support global warming claims.

Two odd things about this.

The first is the position of some stations right next to air conditioning units or other heat producing sources.

The other is the reaction of government agencies when it became public knowledge that this site existed and what it was exposing.

These locations were made public knowledge until then.

They are not longer listed online by a government agency, hence why this site it trying to track all of the stations domestically.

For what it’s worth…

<blockquote>Viewtifulgare on May 6, 2008 at 8:47 PM</blockquote>

I can't think why your computer showed you logged in as Oink, but there is a commenter at HA with that nic. Oink posts infrequently, but has quality things to say, so you should definitely not feel insulted.

However, I was asking about your nic, "Viewtifulgare". It looks like a phonetic spelling of a compliment rendered in a thick accent. I just wondered if it was an endearment from someone in your family.

Um, for some reason <em>while on my work computer</em> the comment box said "Logged in as Oink". I have no freakin' idea who that is (unless it's a user-crossover error from some other wordpress blog). I know that no one else who uses that computer visits this site, so I'm puzzled...

I suspect this wasn't an attempt at fakery; that she did, in fact, go to the north pole, but that some nitwit edited in some stock footage of ice flows and water that happened to have penguins in it.

*shrug*

Very different than suggesting/suspecting that the entire trip and story took place at the south pole, everyone lied intentionally just to make it look like they were at the north pole instead, and got caught with penguins on film...

*shrug again*

Look, I'm no fan of MSNBC, and firmly believe the global warming thing in general is a large scam - but this specific 'omg, penguins' brouhaha seems awfully tinfoil-hattish to me, hehe.
