CNN anchor reassures Obama: This is a “Wright-free zone”

Via Ace. Nothing wrong with taking a pass on Wright questions: 56% of the public says the media’s spent too much time on the subject and there isn’t much left for the Prince of Peace to say about it anyway. What grates here is the air of self-congratulation, with Roberts going out of his way to mention the thing that he’s too principled to mention. It’s his version of the dopey flag lapel pin controversy, something he refuses to do precisely because he wants you to notice. Aren’t you impressed?

No Wright? fine, there are plenty of other juicy topics to get started with here…

jp on May 5, 2008 at 5:06 PM

Wimp.

Typhoon on May 5, 2008 at 5:07 PM

Aren’t you impressed?

Whatever the exact opposite of impressed is …, that’s what I am.

yo on May 5, 2008 at 5:07 PM

And if a Republican Candidate were in such a situation would CNN just drop it?

EJDolbow on May 5, 2008 at 5:07 PM

I agree, jp.
Let’s stop talking about Wright and start talking about Ayers and Rezko.

infidel65 on May 5, 2008 at 5:09 PM

Let’s move on…to Bill Ayers.

amerpundit on May 5, 2008 at 5:09 PM

Our viewers want us to move on

The vote was seven to four

mymanpotsandpans on May 5, 2008 at 5:10 PM

Yea, let’s talk about that “secret” trip to Pakistan in 1981.

faraway on May 5, 2008 at 5:13 PM

“Our viewers want us to move on.”

Not if it had been a Pubbie.

O/T: That cute Asian girl who used to work here is on Fox.

Tony737 on May 5, 2008 at 5:13 PM

CNN’s probably skerded of the Kostapo.

ninjapirate on May 5, 2008 at 5:13 PM

We are going to move past this whole Rev Wright topic and move on. So what do you think about the rumor that Mitt Romney is at the top of McCain’s short list for VP candidates and is a Mormon?

Zetterson on May 5, 2008 at 5:13 PM

Let’s move on…to Bill Ayers.

amerpundit

And Tony Rezko. Bet neither was mentioned. Maybe I’ll have to watch it. See if he asks about how BO will gut the Military.

kirkill on May 5, 2008 at 5:14 PM

Yea, let’s talk about Hagee.

faraway on May 5, 2008 at 5:15 PM

What do you expect from a liberal news organization like CNN, to remain unbiased…BWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Liberty or Death on May 5, 2008 at 5:16 PM

well, only enough of the clip to see BO say, “Fair enough, that’s just fine.” With a big ol’ grin and thinking, “Man, I won’t even need que cards with this chump”.

kirkill on May 5, 2008 at 5:17 PM

Dip.

MadisonConservative on May 5, 2008 at 5:17 PM

Disgusting!

CNN dolts are all left wing, pandering wimps. If you remember they also loved Saddam.

rplat on May 5, 2008 at 5:20 PM

A butt-sniffing, effete, pandering douchebag and a politician, how entertaining.

Jaibones on May 5, 2008 at 5:21 PM

Maybe they figure that Hannity has the market cornered.

ChenZhen on May 5, 2008 at 5:23 PM

CNN has long been in the tank for Obama. They have been corrupt much longer than they have been in the tank for Obama.

Travis1 on May 5, 2008 at 5:24 PM

No, this is good. It’s much better if they don’t hide their bias.

The constant mantra of the MSM is that they are neutral. Since they aren’t, this just grates as dishonest and stupid. I prefer the direct approach…like this suck-up.

Asher on May 5, 2008 at 5:24 PM

Eck … what a jellyfish. I bet his wife or girlfriend never let him get on top.

We have Wright filed away.
Mr. Obama, if needed we have more arrows in our quiver.

right2bright on May 5, 2008 at 5:30 PM

Wright-free zone.
Yeah, I bet it is.

RobCon on May 5, 2008 at 5:34 PM

I guess they didn’t use an internet poll, or he would only have asked about Ron Paul.

Master Shake on May 5, 2008 at 5:34 PM

TheBigOldDog on May 5, 2008 at 5:37 PM

“No questions about Rev. Wright.. our views want us to Moveon(dot)org so we are going to Moveon(dot)org.. “(Since they paid for this time slot and your campaign)

So, Messiah, whacha gonna do about them FARC computers and the Obama related juicyness contained, now that Interpol’s blessed them as untampered with and pristine?

SilverStar830 on May 5, 2008 at 5:39 PM

56% of the public says the media’s spent too much time on the subject and there isn’t much left for the Prince of Peace to say about it anyway.

Nonsense. There’s plenty more that needs to be said/asked, like: Why did you wait until Wright repeated what he’d already said to denounce him? Why did you take as many positions on Wright as Hillary has on Iraq? And do you think if Hillary had given Bill the option of that many positions in their personal life, would he still need to cheat on her? (Okay, that last one was just for fun). But damn the 56% of the public who was been tricked in to thinking Obama has ended the story. He sat in that church for 20 years, this guys was his spritual advisor, baptized his kids, etc. etc. etc. We all know all of that, and we know Obama couldn’t denounce him any more than he could denounce the black community or his racist white grandmother or whatever nonsense he used as his third or fourth position before he suddenly became outraged at Wright repeating what he’d been saying for years.

I just hope that if Obama ever gets the balls to go on with O’Reilly, Bill will hammer him on that point. I also hope he nails him to the wall for the substance-less “change” and “hope” platitudes that make his moronic audiences go wild.

RightWinged on May 5, 2008 at 5:40 PM

Okay, how about his replacement Moss? I don’t see any difference and he’s still in the church.

Les in NC on May 5, 2008 at 5:41 PM

SilverStar830 on May 5, 2008 at 5:39 PM

+1 I agree we cannot have enough Redlasso bashing!(however it worked for me this time)

It’s usually not bad for short clips like 30 seconds and under.. Nothing over that.. (However every time you open a Redlasso player 10,000 kittens die somewhere in the world)

Chakra Hammer on May 5, 2008 at 5:43 PM

RightWinged on May 5, 2008 at 5:40 PM

He needs to be asked, OF ALL the Churches in Chicago WHY did you pick that ONE?

Chakra Hammer on May 5, 2008 at 5:45 PM

One more thing, NO ONE is talking about what Wright told the NAACP about how black kids learn differently than whites, and how he remembers a bunch of white teachers “freaking out” when black kids were climbing on desks after desegregation because they were incapable of learning like whites (which oddly is an argument that the segregationists used to support their own position). I saw this at the end of Special Report a week or so ago, but no one else is talking about it, and no one has asked Barry what he thinks of that.

I’m reminded of part of one of Dave Chappelle’s stand-up acts (I stole this transcription from another page on the net, so it may be slightly paraphrased, but it’s pretty much spot on as I remember him saying it. He lead in to it by condemning those who attack Bill Cosby for his ‘don’t blame white people’ approach)

“I spoke at my old high school and I told them kids straight up, ‘If you guys are serious about making it out of this ghetto…you gotta focus, you gotta stop blaming white people for your problems… and you gotta learn…………….. how to rap…or play basketball or somethin, ni**a…you’re trapped! You are trapped! Either do that or sell crack! That’s your only options. That’s the only way ever I’ve seen it work! You better get to entertaining these white people, nigga…get to dancin! Go on out there and be somebody!’ I just hope they listened…”

As the panelists on Special Report noted, Wright said almost this exact thing. It was pretty sickening.

RedLasso truly sucks as an imbedded video player : /

SilverStar830 on May 5, 2008 at 5:39 PM

The way I get it to work is to refresh before I try to play it. Don’t know why that helps.

RightWinged on May 5, 2008 at 5:40 PM

Another thing that buged me about Obama was when he at one of the debates bashes Hillary for Bill Clinton Pardoning a Weatherman dude(But, then Obama also says that Hillary isn’t allowed to claim experience from Bill.. so.. which way is it?)

How can Obama pin the Weatherman pardon on Hillary, when he says she was no part of his administration and just basically a first lady(wife).

Chakra Hammer on May 5, 2008 at 5:50 PM

Rong.

But let’s move on to why Obama was wearing a USMC T-shirt while shooting hoops the other day …when he never served.

Is he trying to mooch glory from his betters?

Or did Ayers give it to him as a war trophy from the time he bombed the Pentagon?

So many asshats, so little time.

Redlasso rocks! k, just trying to start a fight! See? That guy on CNN, he’d never bring up Redlasso.

What is most amazing is that George Soros’s strings on the talking head are invisible. CNN = Clueless Nudnik Nostrums.

Heh, Scrappleface’s latest offering claims that Obama stopped wearing his flag pin out of fear of being stomped on the chest by Bill Ayers. True, dat!

onlineanalyst on May 5, 2008 at 6:05 PM

I’ve actually turned into the suggestion box (more than once) at work that they change the station from CNN to FoxNews…even pointing out that FoxNews has better ratings. But all I got was crickets.

kirkill on May 5, 2008 at 6:06 PM

oh, that’s TVs that they have in the common areas by the deli and cafeteria.

kirkill on May 5, 2008 at 6:07 PM

When are they going to start conducting these interviews from Obama’s lap?

Chuck Schick on May 5, 2008 at 6:07 PM

Ok, leave Wright alone, let us concentrate on Willam Ayers and his dance on the flag act of 2001. Let Obama explain why he went to dinner at Ayers place, why he was on several boards with him. Why is it all of Obamas friends are Marxist anti American.

Zelsdorf Ragshaft on May 5, 2008 at 6:08 PM

I would be happy if the entire radio spectrum became a “Wright free zone” if the Whitehouse was also declared an Obama free zone.

Buford Gooch on May 5, 2008 at 6:19 PM

Oh, that is so funny!!! It’s just like the SNL skit, with the rpeorter fawning over him saying “You like me, right? I’m your friend, right? I mean, I like, I mean, I love you, man! Please, please love me back!”

JustTruth101 on May 5, 2008 at 6:20 PM

pedestrian on May 5, 2008 at 6:02 PM

I had it set to 50MB’s but I also have FF set to clear all temporary files and cookies etc after i close FF every time.. so shouldn’t be a problem.. youtube and all the other ones work fine.. 50MB is the default. I increased it to 100MB lets see.. (However that is not the problem, the problem is that their servers blow)

Chakra Hammer on May 5, 2008 at 6:28 PM

******smooooooch!!!******

Did he get both of Obama’s cheeks in one shot, or did he have to go there twice?!?

Out with Wright, in with Auchi, Rezko, Farrakhan, Bitter-Gate, the Hamas endorsement….the list goes on, and on. In fact, there’s more than enough time between now and, say, November 8, to go into them all in excruciating detail. If only Juan McCain would figure out that things have changed Post-Bork, and this isn’t Lincoln-Douglas, circa 1860, the real campaign could begin already…

dmh0667 on May 5, 2008 at 6:33 PM

NOPE! Just went to the Rosie video thats a Redlasso video and kinda long would only get to 32seconds before stopping…

And thats with 100MB temp… get rid of Redlasso..(BTW, DAMN you Redlasso just doing that test I had to watch Rosie again.)

Saw Obama on MTP yeaterday. He had a lot of time to talk but he spoke about few of the issues he says voters want to hear about. And he seldom gets away from slogans and BS. The only time he became at all specific about solutions was when he repeated his Iraq solution: surrender as much and as soon as possible. And he’s supposedly surprised that Hamas loves him.

CNN: Mr. Obama, America is tired of the Rev. Wright controversy, so let’s move on.

BHO: Yes.

CNN: Now about your call for windfall profits taxes and increasing the capital gains tax. History shows that raising these taxes reduces tax revenues and increases gas prices and… blah, blah, blah …so the question for you is how do you justify your economic plans in the face of such data?

BHO: Uh. Hmmm. Uh. Can we talk about my spiritual advisor the honorable Rev. Wright?

Jim708 on May 5, 2008 at 7:17 PM

“Our viewers want us to move on.”

Of coarse they do! These folks have no interest in vetting this man; hell no, he’s a Democrat, and that’s good enough for them.

And these people wonder why we question their “love for country” every day… With or without CNN, this man will be vetted and he will face the appropriate questions when he faces off with the nation following the Democrap convention.

I have a Triumph DVD with a documentary on the band.

Guess who is the douche interviewer with hockey hair and epaulets nicknamed “JD”?

Yep, this Canadian SOB.

he looks ridiculous. CNN got some douche from MuchMusic to install as their unbiased, impartial Un-American anchor.

I think they get these Canadians because they have no compunction against ripping our country.

They got that gay English guy with the meth and rope around his privates for the same reason…

benrand on May 5, 2008 at 10:31 PM

Oops, I think his nickname was “JR”…and it was from 1983 or thereabouts.

Doesn’t matter, he looked ridiculous.

I didn’t know John Roberts knew the international journalism sign for surrender ……

I’m guessing Roberts got a Matthews-esque tingly up his leg. I especially like the way Roberts looked like a coquettish school girl, tilting his chin down, while looking up and then bitting his lip prior to letting Barak know he was there to please and would not be asking any difficult questions.
