Video: Hillary on motherhood

The boss greets her with a luxurious eye roll but I’ve always found this side of Hillary surprisingly authentic and appealing. Among the many, many, many tales of her phoniness and ruthlessness, I can’t recall a single one about her being cold or cruel to Chelsea. God forgive me, but some of her mannerisms remind me of my own mother. She has to pick her spots in talking about this stuff for the same reason that Obama has to pick his in talking about race, so that they don’t alienate white male swing voters, but I guess she figures after threatening to nuke Iran and scoring big with that chummy kaffeeklatsch session with O’Reilly she can afford to show a little extra softness. Works for me.
Speaking of phoniness, though, do treat yourself to a look at her double-barreled mega-pander to the people of Guam. How much are four delegates worth? Full voting rights and taxpayer-funded reparations for Japanese atrocities. Keep up the good work, mom! Click the image to watch.

To the Gay alliance… “my mother shares your values”…
To a Catholic group, including Nuns… “my mother shares your values”…
/double take…

Yes, I believe she’s authentic when talking about motherhood. Actually, she’s also become quite human since being liberated from pandering to the lower netroots life forms.
But the last suggestion — that government-subsidized child care will solve the problems that all working mothers face? Doesn’t fly. Nothing can trump a social network: relatives, friends, paid babysitters even, for the eventual day that your child is too sick to attend school, but not sick enough that you can justify losing your job by staying home.Government’s not the answer, and neither are government-run preschools. (Blech!)
Nichevo on May 3, 2008 at 3:51 PM
I think I’ve heard the coconut story before. Good answer.
mikeyboss on May 3, 2008 at 3:51 PM
It’s time for Ron Paul to chime in on motherhood. Maybe the democrats are just playing at some of the sympathies that he gets: that “we should back away from some of these commitments.”
Spirit of 1776 on May 3, 2008 at 3:52 PM
We have this all because Bill thought she was a penguin.

Yeah until we find out there was no friend and daughter with pink and green hair. It is probably someone else’s story.

From all the atta-girl, newfound respect, and grit comments that I have seen around the blogs it looks like Operation Chaos may indeed be just that…….on us.

“It Takes A Village”, except in her own case, to raise children.
AP, others, I don’t buy into her calculated and considered comments. Hillary will say anything still, to reach the Presidency. How can you, knowing her ruthlessness?
localmalcontent on May 3, 2008 at 4:08 PM
No, Limerick (that’s where my mom was born, BTW), it’s a measure of the opposition. She’s adapting to changing circumstances. Can McCain? Stay tuned.
Nichevo on May 3, 2008 at 4:12 PM
Actually, if manages to get the Democratic nomination. I think she will win.

I condemn this comment. I haven’t read it, and I hope I never do!

did she throew her book bag across the room on Mother Day too?
RobCon on May 3, 2008 at 5:27 PM
I don’t buy it. I think she is just making up those stories as she goes along as usual. She is really good at acting.

Whoops — just snickered so hard I pulled a jaw muscle.
Splashman on May 3, 2008 at 5:43 PM
In her coconut story, she claims that between her and Slick, they had “50 years of education.” How did she come up with that number?
By the way, opening a coconut isn’t exactly rocket science, as I learned when I lived in Hawaii many years ago. One can even open it with nothing more than a Swiss Army knife.
Del Dolemonte on May 3, 2008 at 6:05 PM
Nah, the pandering/support for government child care isn’t race specific. Read “Generation ME” by Jean Twenge. You’ll find yourself agreeing with her for about the first 150 pages or so, on what’s gone wrong with our educational system, and then wanting to vomit at her so-called solution (aka entitlement) among the so called “narcissistic generation” from there on in.
Nichevo on May 3, 2008 at 6:08 PM
My little joke wasn’t about race, though I can see where one might have thought so.
Think ‘bad word.’
baldilocks on May 3, 2008 at 6:43 PM
Sorry. It is because of women like Hillary that our society has gone downhill. It is because of women like Hillary that our kids think things are ok that hadn’t been “invented” back when. It is because of women like Hillary that our schools have become psych institutions for neglected or spoiled rotten children.
Connie on May 3, 2008 at 7:07 PM
There’s absolutely no doubt how much Hillary loves Chelsea. But Hillary did insult Chelsea during a speech denegrating Chelsea’s career with her daughter in the audience listening to the public lecture. THAT in itself only proved Hillary’s elitism, she and her family can do whatever they can get away with while earning flying colors from the MSM and liberal progressive culture, but the rest of society had better become/remain subservient to the Hillary Overlord. Look out for the likes of Janet Reno blasting your family at home to shreds while you sleep in the dead of night.
Actually, the gist of Hillary’s overlord maternal dictatorship is covered extremely well in LIBERAL FASCISM by Goldberg. Hillary will be the only mother whom all other mothers (and fathers) must relinquish traditional familial relations with their children as the state overtakes the role of parent to all citizens regardless of age or previous role in life.
maverick muse on May 3, 2008 at 7:17 PM
I heartily agree.
surrounded on May 3, 2008 at 7:31 PM
If only that were true, how simple life would be. But I recall stories about cheerleader mothers and pageant mothers and stage mothers and politician mothers and women’s clubs ostricizing those with more talent, accomplishments and generosity but less family money. The cattiness of females is not to be overlooked, as they themselves depricate the value of simple purity in favor of sophisticated deceit. The ability to love one’s own child is not limited to the female, anyway.
Sex aside, it is the person best qualified who should get the job, and regarding white collar careers, equal pay for equal work. When it comes to sheer physical strength, the female firefighter is not as capable of lifting me from a disaster, and a female police officer is not as capable of subduing a big man in flight, and a woman in the army would experience more difficulty moving a wounded comrade from attack. On the other hand, a certain female pilot is as likely to do a great job as a certain male. A certain woman will do a magnificent job as POTUS some day. But that is certainly not Hillary.
maverick muse on May 3, 2008 at 7:41 PM
Heh, mikeyboss, not many might have been started by women, but how many were fought over women?
Entelechy on May 3, 2008 at 8:04 PM
Methinks Hillary would be even more lifelike and realistic if she had decided to have more than one child.
Wonder why she stopped at only one?
Del Dolemonte on May 3, 2008 at 8:14 PM
I don’t believe a word she said. I don’t believe any of it. None of it. I think she is a wonderful actress and can gauge an audience and say what people want to hear but I don’t for a moment think she ever volunteered for car pools or any of that. Sorry, I don’t buy it. I am a mother and I can see right through her.
Glynn on May 4, 2008 at 1:28 AM
And it is because of women like Hillary and men like Bill that the children of the world got a real education about what the meaning of sex is, lying about it, and enabling the rotten a-hole of a husband. How exactly does one explain this kind of thing to a child? I am sure I never will know. Mine are grown and gone, sans ever having to have a conversation about such a thing. Hillary has once again reinvented herself as the great American Mother. Good grief.
Glynn on May 4, 2008 at 1:33 AM
What a Mother.
Why does the left think that apologizing absolves them of their atrocious actions.
Wild Bill apologized for the U.S. involvement in Hawaii and the far left think an I am sorry is as good as law
MSGTAS on May 4, 2008 at 9:51 AM
What a Mother continued:
Now we have Hitlery’s promise to pay for the atrocious actions of the Japanese during War.
“Promise them anything but never deliver” should be the DNC motto this year

“I’ve always found this side of Hillary surprisingly authentic and appealing.” (BARF.) “Among the many, many, many tales of her phoniness and ruthlessness, I can’t recall a single one about her being cold or cruel to Chelsea.”
Being a mom I can say, (among many other things), that providing a ‘father’ like BJ is one tremendous act of cruelty to Chelsea. If you haven’t read “It Takes A Village”, I’d give pages 146-153 a skim. That’s where she brags about doing ‘what was best’ for her daughter when she used Gestalt to brainwash her into hearing the truth about her ‘father’ without crying and arming her with quick talking points like: ‘It’s none of your business if my dad is a rapist because he’s doing good and helping people!!! There are some people who, after reading several books about the Machiavellian couple, would say that giving birth to Chelsea was a calculated move for political gain. Whatever, my informed opinion is that Hillary is a disgrace to the sacred role of Motherhood, hence this is the foremost reason I despise her.
AP: Michelle rolls her eyes because she’s a conservative mother, which explains the difference of opinion you have on this issue. ;-)
