As for the conspiracy theory about AIDS being spread by the White Establishment…I read an article in SPIN magazine years ago about this very thing and I shamefully admit that I swallowed it; that was before I realized that I was really standing right of center. It’s hard to convert from deep left to rightfield in an easy and timely manner, but I’m grateful for it.

Its not about what they are called. Clearly, their own verbage runs the spectrum.

It’s purely about what they demand to be called. It’s all about kowtowing to the demand.

As for me, I use “black” and continue on my way.

Am I the only one who cringes at the phrase “people of color.” My first response is what color are they? Green? Yellow? By calling minorities POC, it implies that caucasians are “white” in the sense of the color spectrum e.g. white as the background on this page. So then, caucasians should be called “people of all colors,” since white is the combination of all the colors of the spectrum. Run that one by Rev. Wright and see what he thinks.

Caucasians are a “people of color.” In keeping with the PC times, European caucasians should be refered to as “beige people.”

“People of color” is just poor grammar. The phrase should be “colored people,” but we know where that takes us. How about we stick to “minorities.”

A man like Wright could not be directly influenced by the Clinton camp. But I would not put it past them to sway his advisers to push him in a particular direction. My wife and I have had first hand experience with this type of thing while working with Diane Feinstein in SF. Through manipulation of the fringe advisers and committee members, groups not wishing the project to succeed continually undermined our efforts. They would pay individuals to disrupt the meetings, institute inquirers designed to delay actions and generally create a non productive environment.

So while it may appear to an outrageous claim to some people. We are searching for reasons why a prominent Black man would purposely undermine the efforts of another Black man who is on the verge of making history. Especially when one knows the storm surrounding this story was dying down.
