Most of the conspiracy theories are based on past actions of our government and/or the white majority in this country. A lot of people who witnessed or were victims of those acts are alive today. Some of them are in prominent positions within the Black community. So, when they see activity of a suspicious nature, it’s only natural to draw upon their life experiences. I for example still have vivid memories of my uncle’s funeral. Not just because he died at a young age, I was 6 and he was 28, but how and why he died. He was lynched by the local residence for the simple fact that he registered to vote. My father was 46 when he could finally register and vote without fear for his life. This is just a couple of examples of my life experiences that could lead me into the “Black Paranoia”. And while I don’t give credence to such stories, I feel by the comments posted here and elsewhere around the web. Some people are just reflections of the ideology they oppose. As well as exposing their ignorance of US History.

Back issues of Spin Magazine:

Oct 1990 G Spike Lee (guest editor)
inside: Eddie Murphy/B-Boys/2 Live Crew/Aids $8.00

I bet that's an interesting one. I used to subscribe to Spin around that time, and that could be the issue I remember. I wonder if it's archived anywhere?

As for the conspiracy theory about AIDS being spread by the White Establishment…I read an article in SPIN magazine years ago about this very thing and I shamefully admit that I swallowed it; that was before I realized that I was really standing right of center. It’s hard to convert from deep left to rightfield in an easy and timely manner, but I’m grateful for it.

Why would the Clintons have waited until March to light the fuse on this bomb?
They let the media do it. I remember HRC bringing up Rezko early in the game and got the eye of the media riveted on that for a news cycle or so, but then it was buried by other news. Actually, people like Sean Hammity have done the Clintons' bidding with the Wright story. His 'Stop Hillary Express' had to stop because he had done such a good job bashing Obama for Her. BUT, Sean's a "Great American"! ;-)

Its not about what they are called. Clearly, their own verbage runs the spectrum.

It's purely about what they demand to be called. It's all about kowtowing to the demand.

As for me, I use "black" and continue on my way.

. . . to commit genocide against people of color.

Am I the only one who cringes at the phrase "people of color." My first response is what color are they? Green? Yellow? By calling minorities POC, it implies that caucasians are "white" in the sense of the color spectrum e.g. white as the background on this page. So then, caucasians should be called "people of all colors," since white is the combination of all the colors of the spectrum. Run that one by Rev. Wright and see what he thinks.

Caucasians are a "people of color." In keeping with the PC times, European caucasians should be refered to as "beige people."

"People of color" is just poor grammar. The phrase should be "colored people," but we know where that takes us. How about we stick to "minorities."

Its all about the house, people. The Rev. needs the money for his mansion. Electricity and servants don't come cheap. Does anyone know what the greens fees cost for that lovely golfcourse in his back yard? Of course he got paid off. Barak did not have the money because of his kids' ballet lessons or whatever it was that MO was complaining about the cost of. So the good Rev. had to sell out to the highest bidder. As for Spike Lee...who? I wish I could spend the rest of my life basking in the glow of something I did 20 yrs ago.

Automatic debunker of Spike Lee's opinions?

Never, ever trust a man who made and starred in bad movies (She's Gotta Have It) just so he could bag the 'Leading Lady'.

The political events have me reflecting upon the recent history of my fellow African Americans. And I’m not a Democrat or Obama supporter at all. But, it is quite apparent that we are our own worst enemy. Every effort put forth to further our cause and uplift our people has been undone by the actions of other Black folks. This is accomplished either through ignorance of pride, or through the manipulation of outsiders.

A man like Wright could not be directly influenced by the Clinton camp. But I would not put it past them to sway his advisers to push him in a particular direction. My wife and I have had first hand experience with this type of thing while working with Diane Feinstein in SF. Through manipulation of the fringe advisers and committee members, groups not wishing the project to succeed continually undermined our efforts. They would pay individuals to disrupt the meetings, institute inquirers designed to delay actions and generally create a non productive environment.

So while it may appear to an outrageous claim to some people. We are searching for reasons why a prominent Black man would purposely undermine the efforts of another Black man who is on the verge of making history. Especially when one knows the storm surrounding this story was dying down.

There's no reason to believe that Lee disagrees with Wright. He just wants him to be careful where he speaks which truth.
I think Do The Right Thing was a very well made movie. Most of Lee's other movies are noticably flawed. But he got lucky with Right Thing and made a minor masterpiece.

Agreed. that's why I said it was poorly managed. Perhaps Obama panicked when even the MSM started to pick it up. As you said - not thought through.
