I’ve been startled to watch two developments anger and shake our respective Coalitions of The Reasonable, without the obvious deflating corollaries apparently dawning on anybody.

I know AP pulled this quote out as the headliner, and I know everyone has already seen it and commented on it. But I can’t help it. It stands out as irrefutable evidence of a mind so deluded and warped that it bears featuring in every single comment.

What a complete nitwit.

Its fun to see their shrill hatred aimed at each other this season. If only it could last until November.

I cannot believe the United States would elect either of those people. They just aren’t the type of candidates that ever get elected, and I don’t mean sex or race.

Of what concern is it to him? Is he concerned about the tenets of journalism? Fairness, objectivity, balance?

Is it some sort of concern for the news trade? That Fox News is dirtying the image of the press in America?

If Fox news was unfair to Republicans, would Olbermann care?

Who believes this?

This is just transparently obvious what he and Abrams are doing at MSNBC.

Well I had heard that he was drunk. Never heard anything about PCP. If it was as bad as you say then I accept they were within their rights to restrain him.

They really laid into him though. If thats what it takes to restrain someone in that state then fair enough. I’ve heard some fierce stories about PCP.

It was a speeding violation [actually he was on something (pcp kinda "stuff") and it took 4 officers to get R. King somewhat reasonable and then R. King went postal - watch the whole video] and then they put the beat down on him….fyi only; not a slam.

The cops were cleared (not “scott free”) because of self-defense from an unstable psycho freaking on them when pulled over for the speeding ticket.

I have always found you to be a refreshing, on-target commentator. In fact, once upon a time, I quoted and posted at Scrappleface something you had said elsewhere in the blogosphere. I had referred to you as a man, not knowing anything about you or your blog, and I was resoundingly corrected by your fans at Scrappleface.

Also, my favorite sentence:
Nobody appreciates outrage about Fixed News more than do I.
That’s “more than me,” you pompous buffoon.
Of course, that language is straight and to the point, so naturally KO eschewed it in favor of something that was wrong, long-winded, and pompous.

I think it was in Fowler’s (I might be stealing this from a WFB column) – while “more than I” is proper grammar, “more than me” is proper manners.

Or something to the effect that, saying “more than I” makes you sound like an arrogant jerk.

That said, I still would use “I.” I would never write that sentence, but should the need arise.

“Or not”. I offered.

“There are no other alternatives! We have to work with them!”, he spluttered.

“Or they may just have to ‘go’.” Says I.

(Horror)”You’d kill them all??”

“It’s what they offer us, and their “Holy Book”, gives them credit for doing so, doesn’t it?”
