I don’t know. This story doesn’t bother me too much since they claim no infants have been harmed because of it. They could be lying of course, but it’s not as though I have proof.

No visible, easily detected harm anyway (broken bones). I have serious questions about what that kind of decceleration does to an infant brain. How, exactly, has anyone determined that no harm has come to the infants?

Those are NOT new born infants! They are too large and old to be new borns. They are more likely a few weeks to a few months old.

Nevertheless, I think our nation has them beat for bizarre rituals. Many in our country actually believe that it is in the child’s best interest to be aborted. That way the child won’t be born and have a horrible life, or be an “unwanted child” (as if those who push such an idiotic reasoning are psychic enough to know who will be an “unwanted child” and who will be a “wanted child” or that even justifies slaughtering babies via abortion.

Also, this is taught to school children and pushed by our culture as a “sacred right.”

So, who’s kidding whom?

Dropping new babies from 50 feet onto a sheet is idiotic and the people who do so are nuts, and our culture, justifying and honoring abortion are even worse!

You want to solve the problem in the video? I suggest you send a big donation to your nearest Christian church, maybe we can reach them with missionaries. But please don’t try to use this as an example of why all religion is awful and atheism is better.

I suppose it’s as likely to be mentioned as anything else. Once you convince yourself that all beliefs other than your own are always evil, everything that happens in the world is proof that Atheism is the only “true” path to spiritual perfection.

All sorts of people believe all sorts of things, but I think the implication of this post (Allah’s post) was to say in a rather blithe way…. see what these silly religious people believe…. See I told you atheism is better.

And that’s just not valid, you don’t have to know much history to know the non-religious nations have caused nearly all of the massive death and destruction. Think communism for a minute, was Pol Pot religious? There is nearly an endless number of names I could have substituted for the previous. So it’s patently absurd to shake your finger at “religious people” and say they are the blame for most of the wars, death and destruction. But it’s a very popular argument.

Now I expect someone will remind me of the Crusades or of the Inquisition…. but those are bogus arguments too.

My church (PCA) sponsored a debate on abortion and the “pro” participants were two Methodist ministers. Just sayin’.

Perhaps we should be a little more concerned with the 50 million death toll from abortion since 1974 in the United States alone that our elitist humanist approve of so proudly. They are non-religious by definition you know.

For the record, I don’t approve of what these people in the video are doing but before we screech at them for child abuse or child endangerment or whatever, maybe we should look in our own backyard.

It seems that the atheists (after a quick review of a few atheist websites) do seem to lean quite heavily in the pro-abortion camp.
It seems they get hung up on one argument, they are afraid to say the fetus is actually a human because (this is their main argument, not mine) it may give the appearance (appearance) of supporting the Christians belief in humans having a soul. Of course they consider that ridiculous, but they are afraid that fighting for the right of the unborn may give strength to the “enemy”. Therefore, as one site stated, it is better to abort or not take any stand then to give appearance that a soul is in play.
But there are several sites of Pro-life atheists…but not the heavy duty atheist sites, they are definitely pro-abortion.

I’m not offended, I didn’t miss the if, I read what you said, I’m just wondering how you know most atheists support abortion. You stated is as fact. I’ve never seen any polling data on whether atheists in general support abortion. I never thought about. It may be true but I certainly couldn’t verify it.

I was talking about how this might be woven into a Hitchen’s book – and that it wasn’t atheists tossing kids off a roof (which is what I thought Maxx implied in his original post).

Maxx, no, you’re right, not a lot of atheists in this country go after PP. I don’t go after them either, personally. I don’t have the time or the resources to do so… I have a family and a household to take care of. But there are plenty of Christians that don’t either, so your point isn’t being well-made.
