I love how Karl Rove spends an entire column criticizing the core of Obama's being, tells us all why we shouldn't vote for him, and makes it sounds like he's giving him advice for which he should thank him.

Rove, you're an evil bastard and I love ya for it. Keep up the good work.

<blockquote>geeze I have to admit the Architect is smarter than I am in this field, but it’s an old axiom that when your opponent is making a mistake, don’t help him.

Right. I don't buy the 'reverse psychology' angle (i.e. that Obambi won't listen because it's Rove). Obambi may be an arrogant bastard, but he's not stupid; he'll listen. Karl, if you're going to give the Dems advice, put a trap in there where they won't see it.

Rove gives good advice but it is too late. Obama peaked too early in his political career. Nothing wrong with being a Senator, but it his hard to imagine that he will ever occupy the office of the presidency. In short, he's damaged goods. Given more time to mature and develop experience, he might have had a shot. But that’s all gone now unless he can manage a lazarus-like-revival.

Maybe this is a little off-topic, and Obama already seems to be up to his wazoo in the Wright stuff, but there's also THIS little tidbit on RealClearPolitics.com about Obama taking $112,000 from a law firm for no services rendered in
2001-2002 (when Obama was broke after losing his Congressional race), although Obama wrote a letter on a State Senate letterhead to endorse his "client's" ping-pong tournament. A politically sanitized version of this story was even published in the Los Angeles Times.

I wonder if the HotAir bloggers might want to look into this...

<blockquote>Screw Hillary, abort Operation Chaos, this is the guy we want.

McCain could drop a Reagan over Mondale Class electoral drubbing on this dope if he gets the nom.

Barry’s coat tails could even end up even more poisonous than Hillary’s which could maybe get Dingy Harry outta the captain’s chair over in the senate.

SuperCool on April 29, 2008 at 3:16 AM</blockquote>Don't be so sure. Just because Obama may turn out to be a weak candidate you seem to forget McCain's even weaker. McCain has got to find a way to get enough people to show up and vote for him, something he has yet to do. He still seems to think his "maverick" image is a plus and it isn't.

<blockquote>So while you'll almost certainly win the nomination, Democrats are nervous about the fall. You've given them reasons to be.</blockquote>

It will be fun to watch how Obama's next "make over" evolves.

CTV, one of our national news networks up here, has a political follow up show around 5:00 PM. Yesterday, one of topics was Obama and Wright and what can Obama do to contain Wright and start turning things around.

When the story starts going international, and Canadian political advisors are playing clips and giving advice on what a troubled Obama should be doing, he's in trouble.

YES...back when no one was really looking at or even thinking about idolizing him. I cut out a newspaper article sometime last fall about the Midwest visit in which The Obamboozler was quoted about this...showed it to my wife and said, "This guy is waaaay out of touch."

Doc Zero, have you heard "Doc Huxtable's" comments on what's wrong with American black culture? And the response to those comments from black leaders? Getting black Christians to confront their pew-warming brethren is like asking a Muslim to bring a Bible to madrasah. They risk alienation, and are considered Uncle Tom for not staying angry. It's a posture many church-going blacks will not denounce. Many of them integrate hip hop culture into the church-- it gives them street cred with the local bangers.

Well I've tried to listen to Obama to find out what he is about. The best I can come up with is that he is a much more artucilate version of Slick. You can take from his talks what ever you want. He covers all bases with out commiting to anything, thus you can be assured, if your are a liberal, he has said what you wanted to hear, yet he always leaves himself a way out. Other than raising taxes and creating more government he has nothing. Is this what being president is all about? Is this why the Founding Fathers gave us the second amendment?

<blockquote>I stick to my earlier assertion that James Wright is actually one Maury Weinstein of Shaker Heights, Ohio, a former shoe salesman and Browns fan who had a vision, a vision that if he spewed enough anti-American junk and black liberation theology junk, and woe-is-me-the-poor-black-man junk, and with a decent self-tanning agent, that he could become a big star in the black Christian church, and retire in comfort.

You may well be right. I saw something earlier today, I don't recall where, that said that Wright had been hit with a cream pie today and when his aides wiped it off they found a rudish white man underneath. Maybe it was here on HA someplace?

<blockquote>. i hope i don’t have to explain the reason to you…

<blockquote>I love how Karl Rove can write the most helpful advice to democrats without consequence of them listening to it because they probably think the advice is a prong in his master plan or something.

Nothing like a little reverse psychology (rubbing hands together in glee and laughing maniacally).

If Rove said to turn left the rabid handlers would reflexively turn right. Just adds to his legend.

Mccain should take his advice also. Campaign from the senate show don't tell the people what you would do if elected president. Fight for the fuel tax holiday from the senate floor if you want it. fight to make the tax cuts. give senate speeches. use the new media to deliver you message.

<blockquote>Would not it be some irony if Wright has slave holding whites among his ancestors. He looks mostly white, so it would be a pretty fair chance for obvious reasons. Someone should check on that, maybe. Understand that “Reverend” Wright? Capisce?
