Ah but no one knows when the peaceful occupation along German and Japanese lines will begin. Therefore its entirely possible that 100 years could mean 34 99 years of war and 66 1 years of peaceful occupation. When the fighting is over the talk about peaceful occupation gains credence.

In other words, the science fighting is not yet settled.

You see the problem is that although I don’t think that foot-in-mouth McCain actually wants 100 years of war, Iraq by no rational stretch fits the German or Japanese “model”. It doesn’t even come close. It comes much closer to the Vietnam war/occupation/whatever “model”. Therein is the problem. I suggest reading H.R. McMaster’s book “Dereliction of Duty”.

Listening to weird Howard Dean on one of the Sunday shows, I wanted to ask him why he said we shouldn’t believe an Arab country would be able to peacefully coexist just as well as Germany and Japan have.

Because their current CULTURE is nothing like that of Germany circa 1945. It’s not about race, it’s about culture. But thanks for being a stupid imitation of a stereotypical Democrat.

The issue, realistically, is Islam. Not “Arabness”. While is true that the Arabs use Islam as a vehicle for Arab supremacy over non-Arab Muslims, the fact is that the reason they and their societies are so screwed up is due to the mental atmosphere created by their total belief system.
