RushBaby on April 24, 2008 at 11:51 AM

Why is this being blown out of proportion?

First of all, this is John McCain we are talking about.

Secondly, she didn’t she would not vote for him, just that she is not going to automatically vote for him.

EJDolbow on April 24, 2008 at 11:52 AM

Obama is clean and articulate.

Exit question: Is Jenna … an Obamican?

Or was she just being polite by not saying ‘none of your damn business’?

Nah….she knew it was a landmine, and decided to step right on it. It might be tabloid stuff, but if she does end up on the hope platform the Dem’s will beat Reps over the head with it.

MadisonConservative on April 24, 2008 at 12:04 PM

My impression of Jenna has always been that shes not too bright. My impression of Laura Bush has always been that she is a closet Democrat.

This proves both my points. Don’t you see the looks of approval from Laura?

They both probably secretly admire Obama.
What sell outs!

Lets see,I bet Chelsea isn’t voting McCain either,

she wants to deal with Mommy Dearest!

Back to Jenna,Obi-wan has taught her well, any Republican

they might get set up,soundbite and all!

So,Jenna’s comments are short of brilliant!

Jenna could of said she was rearranging her sock drawer!

Nope. She’s voting Mccain.

She just doesn’t want to be labeled racist.

SaintOlaf on April 24, 2008 at 12:21 PM

Be proud she thinks for herself. Although what she thinks about may be questionable, she’s not just falling into line.

And the other one is cuter anyway.

Hey Allah,

saiga on April 24, 2008

No way.

“So, you’re voting for McCain?”

My parents raised me to not answer that question. We have a secret ballot in this country and it’s a blessing that I wouldn’t let Larry King embarrass me into discounting.

Like it’s big news that Larry King is a classless putz.

funky chicken on April 24, 2008 at 12:26 PM

Oh, and that screenshot? Jenna’s uncomfortable and Laura’s pissed. My mom grew up in TX, and trust me, I know that look.

funky chicken on April 24, 2008 at 12:27 PM

Well, if McCain keeps running against like his own party, like he is in North Carolina, I may not vote for him, either.

The NC GOP told him to shove it, and good for them!

Entelechy on April 24, 2008 at 12:56 PM

All is well. McCain got the endorsement of that air-head on The Hills. I know. I know. Which one? The fake blonde one. I know. I know. Which one? The fake blonde, air-head who’s engaged to the guy that looks like a chipmunk.

I just don’t know her name. But, McCain has her endorsement.

OhEssYouCowboys on April 24, 2008 at 1:02 PM

Jenna’s answer seems just fine to me.

Why is saying, “I don’t know who I’m voting for. I’m looking at all the candidates and remaining open before I decide.” an automatic indication that she’s secretly going to vote for Obama?

The “I don’t know. I’m taking all the candidates under consideration.” answer is the standard answer, as far as I can tell, for people in my age group (I’m a year older than Jenna) unless they are a hardcore liberal.

JadeNYU on April 24, 2008 at 1:07 PM

So it would appear that Jeanna’s a Conservative, and like many of us, unwilling to support McCain? Outstanding Jeanna. After a term of Hillary. The next Bush might just be her.

Snake307 on April 24, 2008 at 1:11 PM

Did you see the way Laura’s face was frozen? It looked like half the video stopped.

Did you see Jenna look away and roll her eyes at the very end? She knew that, as Grandpa would say, she was in deep doo doo.

Really? Possibly supporting a man (Obama) and/or a woman (Hillary) who viscerally hates her father and waht he stands for and wants him to fail. That’s a sign of a brain?

Hilts on April 24, 2008 at 1:53 PM

That said, he’s still better than Clinton or Obama.

James on April 24, 2008 at 2:00 PM

All’s fair with GWB but what’s with the nastiness against Laura and Jenna? About the ‘books,’ Jenna has at least one book out regarding all the good works she’s been doing; the type of ‘good works’ that Lefties like to talk about doing while waiting for others to do.

In that, she’s like her father.

And I was thinking she looked like a blond version of her mother and slimmer than usual.

baldilocks on April 24, 2008 at 2:03 PM

Jenna represents the 80% of Americans who really don’t pay attention to politics until about the fourth week of October.

rockmom on April 24, 2008 at 2:17 PM

Who cares. It isn’t uncommon for preachers kids to go wild or politicians kids to go to the opposite party. Obviously Cheney disagrees with his daughter’s choices, but doesn’t keep them apart. Doesn’t matter who she supports.

She could campaign for Obama and it would just help McCain put distance between himself and W.

pecan pie on April 24, 2008 at 2:31 PM

The one good thing about threads like these is that if gives me some insight to the age and gender behind the NICs.

Larry King needs to retire. You don’t interview someone, anyone, by telling them what they think! He did the same thing to Bill Crosby about voting for Obama and Crosby went ballistic on King about assuming he was voting for the black candidate because he was black.

IMHO, Jenna did just fine with her answer. I watched The Today Show yesterday because Laura Bush was a guest host and she did great too. The twins were there and they did a segment about raising twins. It was very informative and an excellent topic for them. It made me realize just how great it must have been growing up with parents like Laura and George. We are truly fortunate to have them all as our First Family.

It was also amusing to see Laura teach the regular hosts about Po’boys!

What I think she should? She might vote for a Dem who despises her father and wishes him ill which shows she probably suffers from self loathing and has internalized the MSM view of her father. It’s like that moron in Israel, Ehud Olmert, who has a daughter (Dana) who supports Hamas and demonstrates against the Israeli Army.

For me, it’s that there’s a history between McCain & Bush, and I bet she’s seen some bitter stuff there that we don’t even want to know about. I would also hope that she knows McCain is not a traditional Republican, and is thinking twice before she actually votes for him.

Of course, she could be a liberal. Maybe she really likes Obama, or would like to assist in bringing Hillary in as the first female President.
