I hope there aren’t any riots. We’re talking about innocent people being hurt, businesses getting robbed, and people’s personal property getting destroyed.
I’m all about Operation Chaos, but I can’t bring myself to actively hope for riots in Denver or anywhere…
John McCain will renounce the presidency because he don’t want to get involve in a “nasty campaign” and the two Democrats will have a deal to share power.
John McCain wants a clean campaign, he refuses to have one in the first place.
At the end of the year, we’ll get back to what we started: Cursing Hussein and Clinton.
McCain will be here with me in Florida. I need him to help me out by cleaning the basement and showering the cows.
I’m dreaming of a riot in Denver
Just like the one in Chicago that the Democrats used to know
Where the rejected glisten,
And the delegates don’t listen
Can’t wait to hear all the mayhem that will make us all aglow
Dreaming about riots in Denver, how about an out of body
experience gently floating over the mayhem and carnage
of the Mother of all Liberal Political Battles in Denver!
I can just see the T-shirts, Hope and Change
But we were in Denver
and it Died.
Been a pet pieve of mine since this whole primary fiasco started…the riot wishes. I see it here, and other sites all the time and it is trashy (at best).
I don’t want to see race, political, or plain ol snatch a TV riots ANYWHERE and anyone who does is horse****.

This is off topic, but did anyone else see O’Reilly completely not understand how oil costs what it costs on his show last night?
BadgerHawk on April 24, 2008 at 10:51 PM
No I didn’t see O’Reilly last night.
But I know that Bill O’Reilly is so full of himself, he thinks that gas prices are so high because he accidently turned off the switch on the Oil wells.
I understand the premise Rush is undertaking, I just don’t agree with the path to getting there. Listen, the radical cousins in the Democratic party show themselves to be exactly who and what they are without any help from anyone. All we have to do is point to them. We don’t need to encourage rioting. God knows they’ll come up with that idea all on their own.
I know I’ve stepped on some toes with that remark, but I just don’t get the euphoria that people have dreaming about it. America doesn’t just have sons and daughters in Iraq, they have them in black and whites rolling across every street in America. This daydream of riots sends a message of ‘you get paid, don’t cha?’ to ever single one of them.
Minneapolis or Denver, it doesn’t matter.
I’m not sure how Democrats acting like lunatics on national television would be such a bad thing.
Why exactly was this the quote of the day? I guess if you never listen to the show, you read this excerpt and think he’s hoping that people die and that businesses get burned down. And if you think that, you don’t know the man.
It’s not a very nice comment or a particularly smart one; being glib over potential violence is annoying. However, there is a lot of truth in it. The left is intolerant of other view points and this manifests in violent behavior (pie throwing; greenies that burn cars, ect) Now put agitated groups of people together, especially in something so critical to them, with the possibility of behind the scenes dirty dealing, and yes, I’d say the potential of violence is very high indeed. I wonder if they’re going to be introspective at all; probably not. In the end, they’ll probably blame their rage on us. It’s the Republicans fault we’re beating each others brains out. It’s predictable. It’s pathetic. But no, not funny at all. And when it’s all said and done, it’s for nothing. We end up with a sh*t president no matter what.
I’m not wishing for riots in Denver. I fear riots in Nov 08 if Obama is the nominee and loses the general election. The dem convention will be a circus for sure, especially if the free love hippies really show up en masse.
It’s fine listening to him, but do it for entertainment only.

Don’t let your head swell, I track MB4 and freevillage with far more discipline than you! Generally there is little need to truly alienate fellow commentators or hosting bloggers with rigid, righteous, self serving vitriol. The delight of internet intercourse is leaving something to the imagination.
First off, Rush was not encouraging riots. He played those Al Sharpton clips MONTHS ago. Either HA or MM’s site had postings about the Recreate68 stuff. Rush didn’t say anything that the left hasn’t already threatened to do. Just go look at the Recreate 68 site.
Look how that Bush-bashing creep punched an 11 yr old in a WHEELCHAIR. They are violent, and all the pandering to them is going to come to a head. I pray no innocents are hurt, but to act like the convention will be peaceful is ridiculous.
I’m dreaming of a riot in Denver

MB4 on April 24, 2008 at 10:47 PM
Beautiful, just beautiful….That song brings tears to my eyes….
Let’s pause for a second and remember the positive in all this. The radical left in 1968 won. They won the Vietnam war. They defined the age in thought and fashion. Now, they are looked at just weirdos and are mostly ignored in even places as liberal as where I live. Admittedly, Berkeley is an exception, but you’ll always have a few. And they appear to be losing Iraq–unless Obama wins.
Follow the Link for the coming nastiness that the Democrat Convention will exhibit. Being apolitical in those days, I barely registered this (to busy mourning good friends in the war that Johnnson wouldn’t win).
After the crap I dumped in your lap you should have Guido looking for me.
Limerick on April 24, 2008 at 11:37 PM
Well I was going to send Guido after you but he wanted to charge me too much. Besides, turns out that we are both big fans of H.R. McMaster and there aren’t enough of them as it is.
MB4 and freevillage, please accept that my use of your names/post is a teaching example. Given the consistency and strength of your public arguments coupled with the zeal you demonstrate in defending them, I did indeed take the liberty.
What’s good for the Republican Party isn’t always good for America.
packsoldier on April 24, 2008 at 11:07 PM
Rush has a rule when it comes to campaign themes. When what’s good for your party is bad for America, you have come to very bad place, politically. We don’t want riots–a lot of innocent people get hurt, especially police personnel. And if the caller was quoting Rush correctly,
It wasn’t Rush that brought this up in the first place. It was Al Sharpton. Set the way back machine and go look in the Hot Air archives… Rev. Al talking about Denver
Some of you on this thread are sick, mentally. No one should wish for riots of any kind in the U.S. Rush is an idiot on this, even if this is mockery of the Left. It would be blamed on Bush not being able to put it down fast enough, just like New Orleans. That’s the last thing we need this year. Let the dems figure out how to select a candidate.
Indy Conservative is absolutely right that Rush is just an entertaining figure, with a big ego. If listening to him is your thing, have at it. I’m addicted to HA, for example. But to think that he is that influential is silly. He had no effect on the primaries, and is now trying hard to make up for that failure. This clusterf on the left would be happening without Operation Chaos. If you want to believe otherwise, have at it.
Now, this makes a lot of sense, and has my 100% blessing:
RUSH: To who? To who would it make all Americans look bad?
CALLER: To the world.
RUSH: Oh, screw it! Screw the world! You know, I can’t –
CALLER: I think there’s that ego again. (laughing)
RUSH: It will make…? Do you really think we ought to govern ourselves on the basis of what the world thinks of us?
And this too:
CALLER: I believe that we need — that our whole premise on working hard for our side is to bring all Americans together, Democrats, Republicans, and independents even, under one common goal that our forefathers designed for us.
RUSH: That’s what we’re trying to do. You don’t bring them together. We don’t bring people together. That’s not how this country works. We defeat our political adversaries so that they’re in the minority.
And Indy, you’re in the handful of HA commenters whom I really cherish. Anyone with a goat, cows (real or imaginary), this much caustic wit, and who writes in such short and cohesive sentences, is really cool. You’re a one independent and smart cookie. You can tell me all you want that this made your ars cheecks blush. You make me think, and you make me laugh, and you tell me all the time “being independent is great”. For that I thank you.
Anyone with a goat, cows (real or imaginary), this much caustic wit, and who writes in such short and cohesive sentences, is really cool. You’re a one independent and smart cookie.

Has anything escaped you? I trust that there is nothing of consequence which you have overlooked?
Just watched Billy Jeff’s finest moment….”I did not have sexual realtions…..” He was truly amazing! Why wouldn’t Hillary indulge Billy for the good of the country, given the stress he had to endure as CIC, really…she is a cold hearted..(not gonna do it)
Any rioting in Denver come the convention would be a love/hate relationship for the MSM. On the one hand, rioting would doom their candidate, but on the other hand, it would be great, easy, reporting and news coverage. Just point the camera and go!
Heh, I knew this would end up causing Rush problems when I heard it. I wrote him an email about it. Denver doesn’t deserve to burn, and I think it was a foolish thing to say.
Speaking of potential burning at the convention, I hope those rioters are mindful of any fires they start. The CO2 emitted would contribute to their precious Global Warming (Hoax)! Oh and think of all the environmental damage rioting would cause. I’m sure their shouts and obscenities would be within earshot of a spotted owl or something and cause it some harm.
The fact that Rush has a venue to bring to light what the Democrats have sunk to, and some of you want to blame him???
Fools among us………. Indeed!!!!
Seven Percent Solution on April 25, 2008 at 1:50 AM
That quote is somehow taking things “too far?” Give… me… a break, AP. We’re all hoping these two warring factions take things to their natural conclusion this fall in Denver. It will destroy the Democratic party and help secure a victory for the right.

After reading your compliment to me, I rushed to the bathroom and French kissed myself in the mirror for God knows how long.
Right now my lips are sealed on my hanging tongue and I’m having hard time opening my mouth.

Lighten up, people.
misterpeasea on April 25, 2008 at 2:28 AM
My thoughts exactly. For pete’s sake, no one, El Rushbo included, wants to see anybody bleed. Are you all gonna take someone to task for being so angry at someone, they could “kill him/her.”
What we all are hoping for, no doubt about it, is to see all this Democrat foolishness come to a substantial and tangible head. That’s all, folks.
This caller seems like a kind fella but naive as hell. Anyone who thinks progressives/socialists/Social Democrats, whatever you call them, want to “get together” with conservatives/Republicans is a gullible fool who doesn’t know the adversary. They hold us beneath contempt, which is sad but it’s the truth. I hope McCain is crazy like a fox, but I fear he is prone to exactly this kind of gullibility.

Then Rush should have started Stop68dotorg.
This Rush piece is going to be shoved down our throats worse then ‘SLAM DUNK’. Stupid move. If Mr Limbaugh is so frakkin smart he should have seen it coming. Thanks for nothing Rush. You just turned Operation Chaos into green mohawks and FTM.

You humble me MB4. After the crap I dumped in your lap you should have Guido looking for me.
To all others…take a lesson from MB. Grit. In spades.
(BTW…I have face recognition software loaded in my machine…Guido won’t make it past the Boston terrier.)

I’m sure the liberals could devise some kind of peaceful riot. It would fail horribly, of course.

Don’t let your head swell, I track MB4 and freevillage with far more discipline than you! Generally there is little need to truly alienate fellow commentators or hosting bloggers with rigid, righteous, self serving vitriol. The delight of internet intercourse is leaving something to the imagination.
dmann on April 24, 2008 at 11:45 PM
First off, Rush was not encouraging riots. He played those Al Sharpton clips MONTHS ago. Either HA or MM’s site had postings about the Recreate68 stuff. Rush didn’t say anything that the left hasn’t already threatened to do. Just go look at the Recreate 68 site.
Look how that Bush-bashing creep punched an 11 yr old in a WHEELCHAIR. They are violent, and all the pandering to them is going to come to a head. I pray no innocents are hurt, but to act like the convention will be peaceful is ridiculous.

Well I was going to send Guido after you but he wanted to charge me too much. Besides, turns out that we are both big fans of H.R. McMaster and there aren’t enough of them as it is.

MB4 and freevillage, please accept that my use of your names/post is a teaching example. Given the consistency and strength of your public arguments coupled with the zeal you demonstrate in defending them, I did indeed take the liberty.
dmann on April 24, 2008 at 11:55 PM
Rush has a rule when it comes to campaign themes. When what’s good for your party is bad for America, you have come to very bad place, politically. We don’t want riots–a lot of innocent people get hurt, especially police personnel. And if the caller was quoting Rush correctly,
then Rush is breaking his own rule.
smellthecoffee on April 24, 2008 at 11:55 PM
It wasn’t Rush that brought this up in the first place. It was Al Sharpton. Set the way back machine and go look in the Hot Air archives…
Rev. Al talking about Denver

I thought “Christmas in August” is just a movie.
And this too:
And Indy, you’re in the handful of HA commenters whom I really cherish. Anyone with a goat, cows (real or imaginary), this much caustic wit, and who writes in such short and cohesive sentences, is really cool. You’re a one independent and smart cookie. You can tell me all you want that this made your ars cheecks blush. You make me think, and you make me laugh, and you tell me all the time “being independent is great”. For that I thank you.

Any rioting in Denver come the convention would be a love/hate relationship for the MSM. On the one hand, rioting would doom their candidate, but on the other hand, it would be great, easy, reporting and news coverage. Just point the camera and go!
Weebork on April 25, 2008 at 12:54 AM
Heh, I knew this would end up causing Rush problems when I heard it. I wrote him an email about it. Denver doesn’t deserve to burn, and I think it was a foolish thing to say.
joewm315 on April 25, 2008 at 1:27 AM
Speaking of potential burning at the convention, I hope those rioters are mindful of any fires they start. The CO2 emitted would contribute to their precious Global Warming (Hoax)! Oh and think of all the environmental damage rioting would cause. I’m sure their shouts and obscenities would be within earshot of a spotted owl or something and cause it some harm.
Hypocrites.
Weebork on April 25, 2008 at 1:32 AM
It’s not Rush, boys and girls…….
Don’t be a wimp. :P
Jockolantern on April 25, 2008 at 2:12 AM
Much ado about nothing.
Rush is a lovable, harmless little fuzzball. He’s not going to be responsible for riots in Denver, leftist idiots are. Like Al Sharpton.
Lighten up, people.

For once – we agree!!
Riots? Burning cars? Burning cankles? Horrible.
Sounds like saomething William Ayres said 40 years ago, and we hardly agreed with it.
So what’s the deal? Because Rush says it it’s ok?
I hope that isn’t the general consensus.

I’m speechless, literally.
After reading your compliment to me, I rushed to the bathroom and French kissed myself in the mirror for God knows how long.

That’s all, folks.
silverfox on April 25, 2008 at 5:42 AM
This caller seems like a kind fella but naive as hell. Anyone who thinks progressives/socialists/Social Democrats, whatever you call them, want to “get together” with conservatives/Republicans is a gullible fool who doesn’t know the adversary. They hold us beneath contempt, which is sad but it’s the truth. I hope McCain is crazy like a fox, but I fear he is prone to exactly this kind of gullibility.
silverfox on April 25, 2008 at 6:01 AM
Newt, too. He wants us all to just along. To Pelosi, that means he changes his mind in her direction.
I feared Newt was lost when I saw he was coming to Santa Rosa, Ca wine country, to have a debate with Robert Reich. Now I know so.
