Video: Idiot blows the lid off the Obama/Osama connection
posted at 9:52 am on April 22, 2008 by Allahpundit
Glanced at this last night on Drudge and wondered why he’d devote space on the Report to something so stupid. Then I watched the clip and it all became clear. We’re not talking stupid; we’re talking viral stupid. Dare I say it, we may be talking leprechaun stupid.
Don’t quit on it too early; the punchline comes at the very end. Exit question: Did this guy actually misspell “hmmm”? Click the image to watch.

Right.
And good grief, so much arguing in this thread.

esthier, I assumed you put that in quotes because it did not come from you.
I wasn’t saying you are stupid, the quote is stupid. Atheists (I am repeating myself, but apparently you did not read) make their own decisions, to blame it on perception of a “hypocrite” is foolish, they make the decision because they do not believe. Those of us who go to church no nothing could be further from the truth…hence the small number of atheists.
right2bright on April 22, 2008 at 5:02 PM
Now you have got me, do I call you unintelligent? Sheesh, posting with someone with no humor is tough…
You see, I was saying only a dumb redneck would get the joke, not someone who is intelligent…then you get offended by me calling you intelligent…but if I said unintelligent that would offend you.
Now you are embarrassed for missing the redneck joke and the follow up, and you will blame me for not getting it…now if you lived and worked with the people I do, you would be happier then a pig in slop…(that’s a joke I am not calling you a pig).
As far as the issues, I am assuming you have not read what I posted.

Oh dear Lord. Coming in on the end here, and not taking time to read the thread, but Pastor Byrd is the kind of guy who gives white Southerners a reputation for stupidity and narrowmindedness. I thought the black members of the other church were admirably patient and fair in dealing with him (though I agree with the pastor that it’s not a racial slur – just a STUPID slur).
“Change just one letter…” – this is how the ignorati conclude that Santa Claus = Satan. (despite the fact that “santa” means SAINT) Sigh.
Rosmerta on April 22, 2008 at 5:13 PM
And to get back to the point, the pastor should be leading his church, not making some non-biblical statement about someone who he has no relationship to. His flock is what he should be concerned with, apparently no one in his church needs any spiritual guidance.
He is out arguing with some people, and his church looks like he could use a little work. Less talk, more work…he has a word to spread, and that billboard ain’t spreading the word.
right2bright on April 22, 2008 at 5:15 PM
I like that…
right2bright on April 22, 2008 at 5:16 PM
Clearly you’re having trouble with this, but my asking what your point was is in no one an indication that I didn’t get the joke.
Yeah, that’s usually what quotes mean. Of course there’s also the fact that I said it was someone else’s quote.
But you didn’t just respond to the quote. You also responded to the portion I wrote underneath.
I read it and addressed it. You even admitted yourself that many atheists list hypocrisy as a reason they don’t believe.
And if the concept is so horrible, then surely you have a problem with AP and others here who say the exact same thing in regards to Gore and other Global Warming alarmists who tell us the sky will fall if we don’t stop CO2 emissions.
When taking an SUV across the street for his movie, it’s easy to believe he’s just making this crap up, and we call him on it. Why should Christians be treated any differently?
20% of America’s population is hardly a “small number.”
The truth, no matter what you say, is that atheists judge Christianity by its Christians.
They shouldn’t make their religious decisions that way, but most do, just like we do with Global Warming nuts.

A much better and smarter church sign would be suspicion about whether McCain killed McAbel.
frankj on April 22, 2008 at 5:30 PM
Obama’s “Church” does have a friendly relationship with Louis Farrakhan, and Rev. Wright likes to Quote Malcolm X.

So we average it out and say 10%, which is the same percentage that believes Elvis is still alive…and the same percentage that does get redneck jokes (that’s just a little humor to lighten things up, easy girl).
Common, now give me credit for calling you intelligent, don’t say I’m wrong (it would be just like that redneck joke).
right2bright on April 22, 2008 at 5:45 PM
Sadly, yes.
To reply to several questions- I’m familiar with this denomination, they have some strong points and weak ones. Few pastors have a bachelor’s degree, with very few having an M.Div. They have traditionally attracted low-income parishioners, and are largely a Southern church.
I don’t see a racial issue in the sign, though of course it’s possible in the church community.
And, the parallel between Truthers & rednecks is just loony. Any true redneck has done enough welding to know that fire (welder, acetylene torch) has absolutely no problem melting steel.
This pastor reminds me of a kindly but uneducated minister in my home church developing a whole sermon out of a mispelled word. He quoted the passage about if salt loses its “savour” as if it meant “Savior.” Other than the foundational flaw, it was a pretty good homily….

This Otis Campbell character with the 100 member church – hmmm, sounds like Fred Phelps – has shamed the USA.
More looney smut rubbed into the face of America.
Shameful.

Booo!
baldilocks on April 22, 2008 at 6:06 PM
I don’t lighten up easily after being riled. It’s a fault but one I admit readily.
We agree on so much, that it’s stupid to hold a grudge. If you treat me with respect, I promise to do the same.
I was basing my number off of something on wiki, but looking back at it, the number is actually 15%. Plus, it’s from 2001. It’s not much, but according to the site it is more than all non-Christian religions combined, which remains true even depending on your opinion of Mormons.
My only point is that they’re not a group I dismiss. I’ve had many friends who were atheists and made it my mission for several years to show by example why I was a Christian and what it meant for my life. I have never been perfect, but I was always very open and honest with them and was fortunate enough to see most of them come around.
Esthier on April 22, 2008 at 6:09 PM
Don’t tell me that he has a “Sermon on the Amount”, regarding tithing…
right2bright on April 22, 2008 at 6:11 PM
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
AprilOrit on April 22, 2008 at 6:13 PM
That’s no fun, let’s just not take it personally…nothing said here is of any lasting significance…it is a blessing to hear (read) many points of views, and be able to dissect (and be dissected) on views we so often carry around without being challenged.
I hold no grudges for anyone posting…but it does concern me that BuyDanish, a marred women, is lusting after me; hope she isn’t labeled a hypocrite…
right2bright on April 22, 2008 at 6:35 PM
That’s rather insulting.
I’m about to leave my reliable Internet connection, so just in case, yes, I know you meant married. It’s a stupid joke to show I’m lightening up.
Esthier on April 22, 2008 at 6:59 PM
“HUMM”…
Osama in 2001,
Obama in 2008.
Sumthig about that don’t sound right.
KCtheKat on April 22, 2008 at 7:18 PM
Oh, so I’m a dumb redneck because I got it? I’m done with you.

No doubt I am a “marred” woman in r2b’s opinion, which I will take as a compliment.
Buy Danish on April 22, 2008 at 7:25 PM
Buy Danish my friend – I thought you were a man. So sorry about that. :)
AprilOrit on April 22, 2008 at 7:51 PM
That reminds me of the post from one of the Mormon supporters and he claimed I hated Moron’s…I agreed.
Marred (but that is how southerndem would prooo-nounce it) wasn’t a Freudian slip…sometimes a cigar is just a cigar…which makes a record three times I have used that today.
right2bright on April 22, 2008 at 11:29 PM
Redundant alert…dumb redneck…alert…
I think that is about the third time you dumped me (and the third one today), I feel like I am back in school so many women are dumping me today…
right2bright on April 22, 2008 at 11:32 PM
I’ll always be here for ya, right!
I’m so lonely…. :D
