Open thread: Pennsylvania; Update: Fox News calls it for Hillary

posted at 5:51 pm on April 22, 2008 by Allahpundit

Drudge says it’s 52-48 Hillary as of 5 p.m. ET; Fox News should have exits by demographic group at 6 p.m. I can’t find the data Marc Ambinder’s citing but I’ll take his word on it: “25% of Clinton supporters say they’d vote for McCain in the general election; 17% of Obama supporters say they’d vote for McCain in the general election.” Plus, a whiff of Chaos from the AP:

One in 10 voters changed their party registration since the start of the year so they could vote in the hotly contested primary, which was open only to registered Democrats. About half of the party-switchers had been registered Republicans and the rest had been unaffiliated with either party.

One in five say race was a key factor in their vote, another one in five say gender was. Standby for updates galore.

Update: Here’s the complete exit poll data set from CNN.

I just vomited up a perfectly good dinner watching this speech.

I fondly remember my military days from CINC Bill. We had lots of paint rounds and blanks to train with. Remember though, you’ll need more than the National Guard and ATF to enforce global warming initiatives and universal health care. Hill will keep the boys guarding our interests in ANWR.

What was the margin predicted for Hillary a few weeks ago in PA? I don’t remember…

I think they told Bill to sit the hell down and stay out of the picture. He ruins it for her too much and I think they finally know it.

Her speech is not inspiring. It’s a propaganda. She talks down and nothing will ever change.

No – the ratio before was about 5:3 – nothing like what we’re seeing now in PA.

CK Macleod has posted several times on this, showing that the only time in recent contests that the GOP had a higher proportion of voters in the primaries was 1996 (for obvious reasons). Check out his stats with a search.

Indy Conservative on April 22, 2008 at 11:07 PM

It’s an eye opening result that 90% of the black vote still goes for Obama. I’d expect a decent majority–it’s only natural for people to identify with others like themselves. But only Sadam Hussein’s 100% election results can compete with 90%. I really think the Obama candidacy is exposing racism within the black community.

Maybe as the official “bitter” candidate, Obama is an outlet for the hate spewing likes of rev. Wright and other black racists. Though the kind of race based voting we’ve seen would only be described as racism if the vote percentages among white and black voters were reversed.

I repeat what Ms. Ferraro said–would Obama be there if he were not black? I doubt it.

There has to be another debate before the next set of primaries. That could be Hillary’s chance to really deliver a blow to Obama, and then there is no way the superdelegates will commit before they absolutely have to.

If Obama refuses…then GO WITH THE CHICKEN AD! It would be absolutely brilliant.
