The stated purpose of the art project was to engender discussion about the “ambiguity surrounding form and function of a woman’s body”.

In all of the discussions on all the various news channels, newspaper articles, and blog sites, that topic has never once seemed to come up.

So, regardless of whether it’s real or not, the project is a failure.

Is waste of space Shvarts to be reprimanded or curtailed by the Yale administration for failing to be dishonest? Is being a fraud now demanded of the students by their Yale instructors and dean?

I’m leaning more towards believing that she actually did put a friends sperm up her, never checked to see if she was pregnant, and then took pills that claim to induce a miscarriage.

Whether or not she ever actually got pregnant is another matter.

I agree with you that it should be, but technically it’s no different than the research on embryonic stem cells, specifically when they create them for the purpose of destroying them.

This disturbs me…why is it that SO many emo/goth girls are either unforgiveably ugly, unmountably fat..or both? As a DEEP lover of heavy black eyeliner, fishnets and sub dermal ink, this saddens me.

No. Abortion isn’t legally murder. It doesn’t all of a sudden become murder because she impregnated herself with the intention of having an abortion.

That’s what’s bothering me as well. If abortion isn’t “wrong” by Yale standards, then how is her project wrong aside from the bio hazard issues?

Would they still be admonishing her if she were “accidentally” pregnant several times and video-taped her abortions?

Isn’t her attitude precisely the attitude pro-choicers want women to have in regards to an abortion, that it’s no big deal?
