THIS would be a great response ad: “They could only portray me negatively by taking what I said out of context, what shameless liars they are. Don’t let them think they can fool you, vote for real change, real hope and a realistic look at the future. Only facing all truths, even hard truths, can we pave the path for a brighter future for all Americans.” Something like that..but without the dough, dem’s win.

McCain should counter with an ad that is almost identical, but with his comments in context. That would both correct the record and illustrate the dishonesty of BHO. It might actually get the attention of some who bought the lie of the first ad.

See the problem is that John doesn’t have enough dough to go one on one answering the lies, whichwould be great if he did, then he could prove to the American people what liars the democrats are.

I know good ole John has voted for public funding, but, I swear I know this as it will be the truth, the money will flood the supporting groups in the general. There is no reason to give his campaign any money now, but there will be after the conventions

But listen to the add itself. It’s better than anything McCain himself has put out so far. Who reads floating text? All you HEAR is John McCain being positive about America, and the morose voice of DNC trying to tell you your life is crap.

If BarackObama keeps out-fundraising John McCain by a five-to-one margin, but all his adds are like this one, I’d say McCain’s got a pretty good shot at winning in November.

I’m pretty sure loose monetary policy had more to do with the housing crisis than crooked bankers. I haven’t heard anyone claim fraud was involved in Bear Stearns’ demise.

Good thing those eeeevil conservatives on Talk Radio and the internet are doing the jobs that McCain just won’t can’t seem to afford to do.

Only gas prices and crooked bankers have hurt an astonishly-vigorous economy with de facto full employment for the past 5 years, especially considering the fears and predictions after 9/11.

The Dems are trying to pretend that breadlines are forming on every corner and that people are eating festering apple peels in empty lots.

A little reality check of the economic figures will end this doom-y fantasy that worked of Clinton in ‘92 (”The worst economy in 50 years!”) but will have a harder time now that the Republicans have been bitten by this trick once and are forewarned.

Along the lines of folks not getting the facts: Today a woman was telling me how she was in the Navy, and her daughter is in Naval ROTC. I mentioned that I’d just finished McCain’s Faith of My Fathers. She responded, “Oh, was he in the Navy?”
