Video: Dem campaign strategists in whine-fest

Nothing makes a Sunday better than a little fine whine tasting, and Meet the Press served a vintage example today. David Axelrod of Barack Obama’s campaign faced off against Hillary Clinton’s new chief strategist Geoff Garin, apparently to determine which candidate had been victimized more than the other. Here’s a clip from their joint appearance, where Axelrod presses Garin on whether Hillary ran a “100% negative” ad in Pennsylvania this weekend:

Well, so what if she did? Obama has insisted that he doesn’t take money from lobbyists, a completely laughable lie. A number of his bundlers come from the lobbying industry, and Obama himself held a September 2007 fundraiser in Jack Abramoff’s former lobbying firm, garnering $125,000. Both campaigns have conducted negative advertising, and for both strategists to cry about it on national TV would embarrass anyone — except maybe a Democrat.

Keep watching, folks. These are the same people who will work at defending this nation from terrorists if either of them beat John McCain. For my money, I’ll take a little temper over a couple of whiny crybabies.

The goal is to put a completely inexperienced neophyte into the Oval Office and then allow him to install a far left, anti-American, race baiting freakshow of a cabinet.

That goal will not be met if questioning the candidate is permitted.

Therefore, no questions are permitted. Next question.

NoDonkey on April 20, 2008 at 2:37 PM

Great communication skills, except that neither wants to hear the other. Complaining to one another, typical Liberal. Whining and moaning, typical Liberal. Leaders of our Nation, priceless.

That was the worst act of fellatio between two political strategist that I’ve evah seen.

Hello hillbillyjim. Good to see you here.

On topic - Jammerkaesten - whining boxes.

It’s so typical of the Left - everything is someone else’s fault. No accountability. Just blame others, whoever they are. What a beauty of an electoral season this year is unfolding to be. And so unexpected, and gratis.

It’s so funny it’s pathetic.

The goal is to put a completely inexperienced neophyte into the Oval Office and then allow him to install a far left, anti-American, race baiting freakshow of a cabinet.

We recently did that with a right-leaning, self-proclaimed conservative who had no real qualifications except for his name and birthright. I don’t know that any candidate running today can be any worse.

bayam on April 20, 2008 at 2:55 PM

In the spirit of bi partisanship, I think they’re both right and hope they continue to be strong voices of change for their candidates.

As an aside, I’m hoping to see a new PAC called R.A.W headed by Messers Rezko, Ayers and Wright

We could be treated to commercials featuring PAC contributors who individually say on camera,

I’m R.A.W. and voting for a change!Tm

or as a group “we’re RAW and voting for a change!”

Just trying to help…

moxie_neanderthal on April 20, 2008 at 2:55 PM

Good Lord…two 3rd graders going at it….

The really pathetic thing is that you know these two tools believe in nothing. (Other than the pathetic Socialist/Democrat/Liberal vision…maybe…). They want their bosses to win for the simple fact that it will result in continued employment. I guess they do believe in something after all- getting paid huge sums of money for doing a job that produces exactly ZERO for anyone or anything.

What do these SmaKTards do after their horse gets taken out back and put down?? I think they should mebbe get the good old gas pipe too..

They certainaly scrapped harder than their candidates do.

mmmmm, interesting perspective. Last time I checked, Texas is one of the largest states in the Union and Bush was its governor. Executive experience counts, though the Carter administration demonstrates the exception to the rule.

Funny that you seem to think that being an articulate “community organizer “ (whatever that is) and half a term as a US senator is sufficient experience. The fact is, with his skimpy record, he could not qualify for a top executive position within a Fortune 500 company, but some how he has sufficient qualifications for Presidency.

moxie_neanderthal on April 20, 2008 at 3:04 PM

OMG how pathetic.
How weak.
How in the hell can the dem’s think this will help either one of them?
My husband once worked all day with a broken hand, he would laugh his azz off at what these two are crying about.

This is embarrassing.

ArmyAunt on April 20, 2008 at 3:06 PM

We recently did that with a right-leaning, self-proclaimed conservative who had no real qualifications except for his name and birthright.

Um, he was a successful, two term governor of one of the four largest states in country. He presided over a budget. He actually had a job. Unlike Obama. Sharpton’s a “community organizer” (aka race baiting extortionist). And Obama would probably get lost driving to the US Capitol, he’s been there so few times.

I don’t know that any candidate running today can be any worse.

So after eight years of lying about and slandering President Bush, the Democrats are reduced to saying “our guy can’t do any worse”.

You are short selling your terrible Democrat candidates. They can do lots, LOTS worse.

NoDonkey on April 20, 2008 at 3:11 PM

Axelrod presses Garin on whether Hillary ran a “100% negative” ad in Pennsylvania this weekend: Well, so what if she did? Obama has insisted that he doesn’t take money from lobbyists, a completely laughable lie.

You have to remember that the media backed the Clintons for the past 20 years in claiming that all ads critical of Democrats, and any discussions of whether or not they may be justified, are inherently evil.

Hillary has always held true to form on this issue. It’s the media who have suddenly changed their tune.

He doesn’t have the humility to ask anyone to be puppet master. Probably, though, he’ll bring in a staff full of theoretical Marxists from the universities, and try listening to their mindless drivel in order to form policy. That should provide a great deal of entertainment for us, and endless misery for whoever’s at the point of the policy spear.

we can, it just costs a certain amount of money. So find yourself a job which provides it as a benefit or that pays you enough to buy it and stop whining

or you can move to Canada or Europe, get 50% of your income taxed, and they’ll give you some crap health insurance.

You can get the same Health care he has had if you spend 5 years being tortured in the service of your country.

Why don’t you ask people who budget their income and have Health Savings Accounts why you “can’t” have the same insurance as them?

AZCoyote asked:

Yes, what exactly did Obama do during his tenure as a “community organizer”? It sounds like someone who organized car pools for southside Chicago welfare recipients to go to the polls and vote themselves more entitlements.

He formed gatherings of poor people, allowed them to vent their anger, and then directed their anger toward whatever radical goal his handlers wanted him to pursue. This is the daily grind of a Marxist community organizer, which is what Obama was.

His gaffe about the bitterness of small-town Pennsylvanians comes from a career of identifying the underlying rage and anxiety of whatever group he’s trying to motivate. It was no surprise to those of us who have researched his past.

The following is from an article I published on my blog several months ago, identifying some of the hard-left influences on Obama’s upbringing and professional formation:

“I’m particularly interested in Obama’s period of community activism in Chicago in the 1980s. His employer was the Gamaliel Foundation. Gamaliel, an activist organization strangely merging the teachings of Marxist strategist Saul Alinsky with those of the Apostle Paul, operates with that same sense of religious destiny that we’ve noticed in both Barack and Michelle Obama’s speeches. Alinsky counseled tapping anger as a motivator for radical change; Gamaliel’s Greg Golluzzo notes Obama’s energy in applying this tactic:

Barack was in the community… talking to the people, sensing their passion, their anger and he wanted to create an opportunity for them to express that anger and resolve the problem.”

Ryan Lizza in The New Republic, cites another of Obama’s mentors, radical organizer Mike Kruglic, admiring Obama’s skill at this sort of manipulation:

He was a natural, the undisputed master of agitation, who could engage a room full of recruiting targets in a rapid-fire Socratic dialogue, nudging them to admit that they were not living up to their own standards. As with the panhandler, he could be aggressive and confrontational. With probing, sometimes personal questions, he would pinpoint the source of pain in their lives, tearing down their egos just enough before dangling a carrot of hope that they could make things better.

Come by and read the rest. It’s an eye-opener.

philwynk on April 20, 2008 at 4:55 PM

EJDolbow on April 20, 2008 at 4:51 PM

My question was about why he called it a ‘cheap shot’. Was he whining?

Plus, members of congress don’t need to be tortured for 5 years in Vietnam to get access to that plan. Even members of the military don’t need to be tortured for 5 years to get coverage.

And finally, the first question is about eligibility, before we even get into the payment question. I cannot join the plan McCain has, even if I am willing to pay 100% of the premiums he and his employer are paying. Oh wait… I think I am whining :)!

The only way I can get that choice, according to you, is to become a Senator, which statistically is so improbable I might as well look for a plan B (note that I think the plan McCain must have must be available to more than just Senator, but regardless, it won’t be available to me).

So why can’t I have that choice?

EJDolbow on April 20, 2008 at 7:53 PM

Exactly. I think arguing that I can’t join the plan of a fortune 500 company is one thing, which has some merit, but I don’t understand why I can’t join the government group.

Or, phrased differently, the fact I can’t join the government group seems completely arbitrary in nature for no apparent reason. I am not preventing you from joining your favorite group, nor am I saying that you have to join my group, all I want is to be able to join the same plan that federal employees like Senator McCain have. And again, I don’t mind paying for it.

Anyways, this thread wasn’t about healthcare, my initial question was, is McCain whining when he is said the question about healthcare was a ‘cheap shot’?

you can buy even better health insurance than a Senator…

Well.. you two have been going over and repeating the same BS talking points ABOUT THE “issues” this whole time, now its crunch time.

Both of you Hillary and Obama are Extreme Liberal Socialists and want to raise taxes in the face of an economic downturn and on top of that want to expand govt. and socialize medicine, and want to fail in Iraq so that the terrorist have a base to with which to plot and plan attacks from(either on us or our allies)
Also, both of you have said amnesty in the first 100 days without ANY form of border security first.

With these views and the House and Senate controlled by Democrats, Supreme Court Justices and other legislation that would effect us for years to come I cannot see the American people giving ALL the power to one party especially the new Democrats at a time of war.
