Video: Mary Katharine Ham on nutroots debate reaction

posted at 1:36 pm on April 18, 2008 by Allahpundit

A tale of media bias told by whining idiots, full of sound and fury, signifying … a lot, actually. My own armchair theory is that it’s mostly a pose designed to prove how intellectually serious they are about “substantive” debate; the Hammer favors the displacement theory, that they’re irritated at their perfect candidate for being not quite perfect after all and are taking it out on ABC. Either way, the solution is to work the refs by complaining long and loudly enough to make sure that never again are the words “flag lapel pin” uttered in the Messiah’s presence, unless they’re being used in the context of congratulating him for taking such a petty, stupid symbolic stand on Iraq in refusing to wear one.

I was skeptical that the debate hurt him — nothing ever seems to — but judging from Gallup’s new data we can safely say it didn’t help.

Update: We’ll see how ABC handles things going forward but consider the refs at NBC well and truly worked.

That woman has an amazing brain. Listening to her is such a breath of fresh air.

I have to disagree with both of you; it’s anger over the fact that ABC isn’t 110% like them.

It may not be hurting Obama now, but then again, his target audience likes unprepared, openly unrepentant Marxists. The broader electorate, and thus the superdelegates, don’t.

I love Katherine. She gives me a reason to tolerate the the big O.

Still wondering what happened to Hillary’s 20-point lead in Pennsylvania …

right2bright on April 18, 2008 at 1:49 PM

As Obama’s ties to “past” friends are brought up, he will lose a lot of votes.
The problem is that he has done so little in public life, he has such a small resume, that it is hard to find anything of real substance to nail him on. I mean he has done very little in public office, so they have to build a character base from something.
Like I said…you can’t blame him, he hasn’t done anything…

I am so looking forward to talking to my Democratic Friends on the day after November’s election.

If you think that was angry…..

Mortis on April 18, 2008 at 1:53 PM

LOL. The Daily Kos calls Georgie-Porgie a right wing tool. Well, he DID use one or two questions from Hammity’s playbook, but if anything, he’s a Clintoon handiwipe, which I guess is the same thing to those puerile kooks. I wonder how much the HillyBilly’s paying him to make it look even but slam Obama with the tough questions.

Christine on April 18, 2008 at 1:54 PM

Imagine liberal super delegates voting against a Black man, for any reason.

unless they’re being used in the context of congratulating him for taking such a petty, stupid symbolic stand on Iraq in refusing to wear one.

See, that’s the thing of it. They blame us for making issues of all of these things but they’re all directly manufactured by the candidates themselves. If you don’t want us asking why you’re too big an idiot to wear a flag lapel pin, then don’t be an idiot about it in the first place. If you don’t want us asking why you lied about the sniper fire, then don’t be a liar about it in the first place. Etc, etc.

We’re not manufacturing issues – we’re asking them about manufactured issues that they manufactured. What’s so hard to understand about that.

The debate hurt Obama. There is just a delay effect until the poll results start coming in, and as influencers spread the word to the normal people that Obama cavorts with known terrorists like William Ayers, etc.

The reason the left blogs were spinning so hard is that they wanted to protect the leader of their latest cult of personality, and secondly out of their own vanity they wanted to deny that they were wrong about Obama.

indythinker on April 18, 2008 at 2:05 PM

With the second part O’Reilly strikes again with the, “Isn’t this web content pathetic? Look how she’s trying to humiliate her husband! Quick show the pic of her husband!” type of stupidity I’ve come to loathe him for.

Benaiah on April 18, 2008 at 2:06 PM

He got all the tough questions for two reasons. First, he has had an almost free ride until recently and second, most of the dirt on Hill is already out there and is old news. The questions were not that tough and he did not handle them well. Maybe the 3am phone call commercial made sense as long as it is McCain answering the phone.

duff65 on April 18, 2008 at 2:08 PM

I should add that MKH and Michelle are the only reasons I’ve watched clips of that moron’s show. I wish Fox would wise up and give them a show of their own.

JayHaw Phrenzie on April 18, 2008 at 1:52 PM

Quite. And the superidiots have no choice but to stay the course, and support the Big O. If they bail, they lose the black vote for a couple cycles, and the Dems lose everything they have. If they stay, they lose the election while backing a socialist nitwit with Marxist philosophical underpinnings, but maintain their congressional majorities and live to fight another day.

They also confirm for the black libs that, yes, America is a racist, imperialist cesspool with no redeeming virture, so they can really wallow in their own victimhood together.

This calls some acid rock tripp’n in tribute to what liberals have been tok’n off these days.

Over bridge of sighs
To rest my eyes in shades of green
Under dreamin’ spires
To Itchycoo Park, that’s where I’ve been

What did you do there?
I got high
What did you feel there?
Well I cried
But why the tears there?
I’ll tell you why
It’s all too beautiful
It’s all too beautiful
It’s all too beautiful
It’s all too beautiful

I feel inclined to blow my mind
Get hung up feed the ducks with a bun
They all come out to groove about
Be niceand have fun in the sun

Tell you what I’ll do (what will you do?)
I’d like to go there now with you
You can miss out school (won’t that be cool)
Why go to learn the words of fools?
What will we do there?
We’ll get high
What will we touch there?
We’ll touch the sky
But why the tears then?
I’ll tell you why

It’s all too beautiful
It’s all too beautiful
It’s all too beautiful
It’s all too beautiful

I feel inclined to blow my mind
Get hung up feed the ducks with a bun
They all come out to groove about
Be nice and have fun in the sun

It’s all too beautiful
It’s all too beautiful
It’s all too beautiful
Ha! It’s all too beautiful

O’Reilly is a tool! He tells MKH that he didn’t SEE Obamas performance as shaky, just defensive, yet in his Impact segment he stated that he did not watch the debate, he just read the transcript. He is so desperate to have the Messiah on his show that he dare not challenge the mighty Oz-bama. O’Reilly is constantly giving Obama a pass, the benefit of doubt, fair and balanced. Drink up Billy, that Messiah KOOLAID must taste pretty good!

dmann on April 18, 2008 at 2:34 PM

Wow. BO’R only interrupted her once, must be a record. Very sensible comments by MKH as usual. I think he even came off as OK this time. *ducks*

What about a FNC “HOT AIR” daily or weekend show with rotating hosts? Michelle, Laura, Ed, Ham… Get rid of Jerry Rivers.

yeah, its another case of slaying the messenger. Imagine if they asked really tough questions? LOL Imagine if Rush and Anne Coulter as the moderators? Damn, that would be so awesome…

Come to think of it, if they cannot face Rush and Anne, how can they claim to be capable of being President?

ABC is getting a gut check right now. Welcome to the world of truth. You should do this whole “truth” thing more often ABC.

For the divorcee: ask your lawyer before you do something like this. You got all Heather Mills on us.

MKH is hot; she’s got a Laura Petrie vibe going. Someone please get this lovely woman a classier gig than this buffoon O’Reilly’s show.

Travis Bickle on April 18, 2008 at 10:24 PM

Eventually Oh!Realy’s going to figure out how idiotic he sounds compared to the Hammer. Hopefully by then one of the network’s will give her a gig.
