Obama hints: You know, I’m not sure we need another debate

I don’t get it. After America was so cruelly deprived by ABC of a chance to hear the thousandth iteration of whether his health-care plan is truly “universal,” now he’s going to deprive us of another?
What could explain this sudden reluctance to shine the light of Substance upon a grateful people?
Sen. Barack Obama on Thursday suggested he doesn’t see any point in having another debate with Democratic rival Sen. Hillary Clinton.
Clinton has agreed to a debate next week, but Obama has not yet accepted the invitation.
At an appearance in Raleigh, North Carolina, Obama said he has a lot of campaigning to do in a limited amount of time.
Obama said he had agreed to an earlier debate, but Clinton declined that one.
“I’ll be honest with you, we’ve now had 21,” he said. “It’s not as if we don’t know how to do these things. I could deliver Sen. Clinton’s lines; she could, I’m sure, deliver mine.”
Precisely, which puts the lie in one efficient line to his disciples’ endless disingenuous whining about all the supposed hardcore policy talk we missed out on last night. And Obama’s own whining too: Follow the link to STACLU and watch the clip of him today in Raleigh wondering where all the real questions were during those first stumbling, bumbling 45 minutes of the debate. Unlike his nutroots acolytes, and unlike Hillary when she’s complained in the past about unfair treatment, he’s cheerful, funny, and shrewd in building the whine into his tedious anti-Washington message. BJ reminded him today that politics is a contact sport, but the guy knows how to play. His problem is that he doesn’t always take the long-term view of what’s in his best interest.
Update: Quit while you’re ahead, Slick.

He’s starting to lose his cool and his substance so I’ll bet he doesn’t want another debate. If Hillary lets this jerk off the hook then she’s not the ruthless fighter I thought she was.

Entelechy on April 17, 2008 at 10:33 PM
You know, this is all really very simple, and I have to give some credit to John Edwards for nailing it. Obama is too much of a p*ssy to be president. McCain is a tough guy and a war hero, and that is enough to carry him through this thing. Hell, it’s the only reason that Hillary is still around at all. She’s clearly the most deceitful, unlikeable major candidate in years, yet people understand that she has a heart as black as coal, and is a b*tch on wheels that could stand up to the bad actors in the world for American interests. That’s the only reason she is still in this thing. The more people start to realize what a wimp Obama is, the more the Jacksonian spine of America will reject him.

Maybe if Obama hadn’t gone to private schools he would have known that excuses like this are pretty well played out.
At least he didn’t try “I’d fight you, but I’d probably kill you and then your parents would sue me.”
Dodged a bullet on that one.
29Victor on April 17, 2008 at 10:51 PM
Losers hide.
Obama is a loser, with an agenda very few Americans of any persuasion would support. It is thin and Marxist because he is stupid (academic performance is not of necessity an indicator of an ability to deal with the real world…and Gibson nailed his slimy rear to the wall on his ignorance of tax policy, which for Barry O relies on hate and disdain rather than real economics). Dumber than a post, he has learned all he needs to and therefore has started his death spiral.
Mind you, Hillary is little better, but as pointed out above, she could be hell on wheels if someone international pissed her off. That is not all bad.

The more I see of this guy, the more annoying I find him. He wants America to elect him President based on his supposedly superior judgment (”Judgment to Lead”), yet voters are not permitted to ask him questions about his exercise of that judgment in terms of his long-time associations with domestic terrorists like Ayers and America-hating bigots like Wright and Farrakhan. That’s “gotcha” politics, and a waste of his precious time, he tells us.

He’ll never agree to a NC debate. Local leaders have been banging their pots and pans for one the last few weeks. Our primary is usually so late, that we never get the opp to be of importance. He’s leading big here, but after Billary bitch slaps him in PA, his lead will probably drop a few points and don’t forget about OPERATION CHAOS. NC has a huge military footprint, and I’ll guarantee you we here have more Fatman listeners per capita than anywhere else. I haven’t had this much fun since the 00′ recount and Judge Sander Sauls. So I watched the debate … and just kept wondering:
Do all those people who say Obama is a skilled speaker … really mean it?
I mean … seriously?
Or are they just thoroughly brainwashed?
Or knowingly, intentionally lying - spreading false propaganda? Trying to create the perception that he’s Reaganesque?
Or worst of all … are they just exhibiting the classic liberal bigotry of lowered expectations - getting excited about an “articulate Black” man because they expect him NOT to be articulate?
I assume its one of those, cuz one thing is clear: a great speaker he ain’t.
Without a teleprompter, he makes Bush seem downright Churchillian. Give Dubya a megaphone and no script and he pounds poor B.O. into the dirt.
I’m just amused. The guy can barely string a sentence together yet they’ve propped him up as the Next Great Orator.

NOT to GROW THE ECONOMY but for Fairness! OMG…

Chakra Hammer on April 18, 2008 at 1:23 AM
Somebody needs to ask Obambi that if he’s too busy campaigning for future debates then whether or not he would delegate Revrum Jeremiah Wright to sub for him?
It seems Revrum Wright always has plenty more to say about your typical white people and has plenty of free retirement time to kill while his mansion is built. With 20 years of Obambi’s faithful attendance it would be a bitter sin for him to ignore dear ole antsy and audacious Jeremiah. Wright could be exactly the debate change Obambi has been hoping for.

Take everything that’s just been said about why Obama doesn’t want to have another debate and ask yourself why McCain didn’t want to follow through with the originally planned Republican debate on February 28th.
Even if you hate Huckabee, a 1-on-1 debate between McCain and Huckabee would have been a good thing for this country. It would have put McCain in the same hot seat that Obama was just put in. It would have been very revealing. It may have shown McCain to be as big a supporter of this program as Obama and Clinton are.
Red Pill on April 18, 2008 at 9:43 AM
Also ask yourself why McCain hasn’t been courageous enough to do a 1-on-1 interview with Michelle Malkin.
