I’d condemn you to hell for your vote on Obama, but you’re already there with me, or so I’ve been told

Ha! If only I believed in such silly concepts as Heaven and Hell. ;)

I’m not saying Israel can’t hold it’s own, but we should always stick with our allies.

I agree, but only when allies call for aid. We have no business meddling in their sovereign affairs unless they explicitly ask us to. Such is why I have such strong hatred for Jimmy Carter. He has absolutely no business inserting himself into the Israeli/Arab conflict and doing so makes the US look foolish in Israel's eyes.

I'd condemn you to hell for your vote on Obama, but you're already there with me, or so I've been told. I do understand you're reasoning concerning your vote. If that's where you are, then that's your choice.
Concerning Israel, I feel it's in our bests interests on many different (political, moral, spiritual) levels to maintain close ties. We must stop meddling and patronizing, but we should also show consistent and overt support for Israel. I'm not saying Israel can't hold it's own, but we should always stick with our allies.

You seem to be a very jaded, very angry person, Hebrew. Am I wrong?

Jaded but most certainly not angry. I don't get angry over politics. I get frustrated and walk away.

You constantly throw out broad-brushed statements and accusations.

Constantly? I haven't posted on HotAir in like two months. You're mistaken,

Need I remind you that the next POTUS will likely nominate anywhere from 2 to 5 Supreme Court Justices?

Two to five, huh? It couldn't be one or zero? You're ridiculous.

You and I both know that the POTUS is far more than a figurehead

Don't speak for me. I think the President of the USA is one of the most overvalued offices there is. Executive power has been whittled down to nothing in this country.

Do you think Obama would do anything to help defend Israel?

Thankfully this is a meaningless question. Israel has no problem defending itself. It has a fantastic tech sector and a very powerful military. An American President will never have to defend Israel because Israel wont ever ask for help. In fact, I think the USA should stop trying to meddle in Israel entirely. There are more important nations in that part of the world to focus on. I think Lebanon and Syria should be a major focus of US foreign policy, but who talks about them?

Serendipity ? - oh now I've heard everything.

1) Why do evangelicals need someone who only represents them? I thought we wanted someone who represents all of us. I thought we needed someone who can stand up and put their hand on the Bible and represent all religions? I don't know of another religion who needs their own representative. I like Hunter, Fred, Mitt. But we didn't get any of them.

2) For anyone who doesn't know how a partial birth abortion is preformed - look it up on the internet. I have teachers at school that are pro abortion but have no idea and refuse to hear how it is done. It's hard to think of any dr doing it.

I might add that Hillary Clinton voted against the Partial-Birth Abortion ban (meaning she is perfectly OK with killing full-term babies).

I just hope he doesn’t succeed in becoming the “voice” for evangelicals in the interim.

cs89 on April 15, 2008 at 3:57 PM

And who would you recommend as an acceptable “voice” for evangelicals?

Red Pill on April 15, 2008 at 3:59 PM

Somebody who doesn’t employ a “floating cross” ad, then pretend not to notice the appearance of the “bookcase” would be nice.
cs89 on April 15, 2008 at 7:28 PM

First, is it really so hard to believe that the “floating cross” in the bookcase was a serendipity, and not intentional?

Second, I seriously would like to know who you would recommend as an acceptable “voice” for evangelicals. You aren't advocating that our voice be silenced, yet you clearly don't think Huckabee is acceptable, so who in your opinion is?

There was a bill that said if a baby born alive after a botched abortion, Dr's should do what they can to help the child to survive. Guess who voted against the bill? Yes, Obama! Can you imagine - leaving a living child to lie there and die? What kind of a country are we, and what kind of people are we becoming? You know all the fems said when roe was being fought for, the mantra was "No more unwanted children!" Well abuse abounds. As soon as we opened the door life became cheap.

Yup. I don’t like Obama’s policies, but I think he’d make a good four-year figurehead for the US of A.

HebrewToYou on April 15, 2008 at 8:19 PM

Need I remind you that the next POTUS will likely nominate anywhere from 2 to 5 Supreme Court Justices?

And you're ready to vote for a Senator who voted against the confirmation of both Roberts and Alito?

You and I both know that the POTUS is far more than a figurehead, and who we vote for in this election will have an impact on a lot more than just the next four years. Plus, there's no guarantee that Obama couldn't pull of a Bill Clinton and get re-elected.

On a separate but equally important note, Bambi made a really good point at 6:03 PM. Iran (via Hezbollah) has already declared war on Israel. Iran is working furiously on Nuclear weapons. Do you think Obama would do anything to help defend Israel?

HebrewToYou:
From another blog on hotair:
Don't mean to pile on, but give it a little time to see what comes out next.

Don’t assemble the Star Chamber quite yet.

In an interesting development in the trial of Tony Rezko, Mr. Obama’s previous claim to have never met Nadhmi Auchi is now called into question. There has now been testimony that Obama went to a party hosted by none other than Mr. Auchi.

Baring celestial interference, it is impossible to imagine a scenario in which Mr. Obama would forget attending a party hosted by an extremely wealthy person who just happens to be an associate of your close friend Tony Rezko.

All of which gets to the heart of the matter. It is my understanding that in a separate bankruptcy filing, Tony Rezko previously claimed to have no assets which could account for his wife’s purchase of the lot next to Obama. Then lo and behold, just prior to Obama’s home purchase, Rezko received money from Auchi. In a red hot real estate market, Obama was able to receive price reduction on the home and Tony Rezko meets the condition of the seller by purchasing the lot at the same time.

Curiouser and curiouser.

Cold Steel,

This is a battle between the light side and dark side. Apparently, you and some of the others here have been seduced by the dark side of the Force. This is no surprise because the Force can have a strong influence on the weak-minded.

There is nothing here for you anymore now Cold Steel. Come join the Huckabee team and learn the ways of the Force and become a Jedi like the rest of us.

More like the Schwartz. Less Sci-Fi conventions and tin foil hats. More fresh air and comfortable pants. I'm all good with my weak mind brother. I have an affinity for orange slices, capri sun, crustables, and big crayons. You're just jealous my friend. It's a lot less complicated when you're not shouting all the time from your soap box.

You seem to be a very jaded, very angry person, Hebrew. Am I wrong?

You constantly throw out broad-brushed statements and accusations. If you were a painter I would guess your style to be blowing up barrels of paint with a cannon. :)

Hickabee will be spending the rest of his life begging for attention with tactics only intended to self-promote and they will all backfie because he is a no-talent, thin-skinned, bigot. Does Hickabee really think that he can do this or anything else better than Mitt Romney? MITT 2012!

Sorry HebrewToYou, this is from MS at IPerceive.net

Meanwhile, Obama has a dedicated page http://my.barackobama.com/page/dashboard/public/gGN9pM
on his website for Hatem El Hady, an identified terrorist who “was the chairman of the Toledo, Ohio-based Islamic charity, Kindhearts, which was closed by the US government in February 2006 for terrorist fundraising and all its assets frozen.” With thanks to Patrick Poole at Atlas Shrugged. El Hady, so it is reported, is fundraising for Obama. Hard to dispute when it is on Obama’s own website. Where do you think El Hady is raising the funds? In exchange for what promises?
