After that photo leaked they had to hurry up and make a movie as cover.

Klaatu, barada nikto.

My collie says:

Maybe I should treat Triumph the comic insult dog as my new "role model".

Don't you cause enough trouble already? Besides, that Conan O'Brien guy is definitely something out of a Men in Black movie.

My collie says:

It's not much of a disguise, is it?

Well a G-Force compensator is not required for Hyperspace because it’s not the ship that accelerates, is the universe around the ship that moves. It’s a rapid pinching and release of the space time continuum. - Egfrow

Holy crap! My Geek-o-meter just EXPLODED! I picture in my mind the kids who help Tim Allen and Segourney (sp?) Weaver in "SpaceQuest"!

I still say Han would've had a major case of "red out" as he pulled those negative G's.

Forgot who posted there are no G's in space, but it's not so much G's as it is inertia. If your ship is headed in one direction and so is your body and then the ship changes direction and your body doesn't you go from being Roguish, Swashbuckling Astronaut/Kessel Run Expert to jellied stuff on a bulkhead. Inertia doesn't need air to work being one of those basic physics principles and such.

An example, if a big guy with a baseball bat swings the bat and hits your head it won't matter whether he does it in atmosphere or in the vacuum of space. Your head will pop either way.

And being in space may result in weightlessness but has no effect on mass.

innominatus on April 14, 2008 at 1:51 PM

Being in orbit (or some other form of free-fall) results in weightlessness, not just being in space. Thats why satellites eventually return to Earth, atmospheric drag reduces their orbit so that their weight pulls them back to Earth. The weight of the Moon is what keeps it from flying away from the Earth, and the weight of the Earth keeps it from flying away from the Sun.

It’s a pretty obvious fake because the scale was all off. I was laying in my hammock Saturday and saw a UFO. It was black, disk shaped, silent and was in view for about half a minute. The only thing I though was that whoever was in it really needed Dramamine because the sucker was wobbling like crazy. I very much suspect it was a Mylar balloon that got away but it got me thinking how easily people are convinced they see something extra terrestrial. It was directly overhead so I had no reference for height or size.

Under the thumb of the Evil Empire they cling to blasters or The Force, or antipathy to life forms who aren’t like them, or anti-inter galectic immigrant sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

Tony, there’s got to be some sort of a G-force compensator aboard. Think how many G’s would be involved in the jump to Hyperspace.

eeyore

Well a G-Force compensator is not required for Hyperspace because it's not the ship that accelerates, is the universe around the ship that moves. It's a rapid pinching and release of the space time continuum. Requires lots of power, that of about 100 stars which is why Chewie always hit the couplers with a wrench to get it to work.
