Holy crap! My Geek-o-meter just EXPLODED! I picture in my mind the kids who help Tim Allen and Segourney (sp?) Weaver in “SpaceQuest”!

I still say Han would’ve had a major case of “red out” as he pulled those negative G’s.

An example, if a big guy with a baseball bat swings the bat and hits your head it won’t matter whether he does it in atmosphere or in the vacuum of space. Your head will pop either way.

It is just a show? Are you sure? I’m a Trekkie, but I do not and never will own a Star Fleet uniform, no room with my AF uniforms in the closet anyway. Nor, will I go to a convention.

And being in space may result in weightlessness but has no effect on mass.

Being in orbit (or some other form of free-fall) results in weightlessness, not just being in space. Thats why satellites eventually return to Earth, atmospheric drag reduces their orbit so that their weight pulls them back to Earth. The weight of the Moon is what keeps it from flying away from the Earth, and the weight of the Earth keeps it from flying away from the Sun.

Well a G-Force compensator is not required for Hyperspace because it’s not the ship that accelerates, is the universe around the ship that moves. It’s a rapid pinching and release of the space time continuum. Requires lots of power, that of about 100 stars which is why Chewie always hit the couplers with a wrench to get it to work.
