Wright: “Fix News” can’t handle the truth

Much like America on 9/11, it looks Bill O’Reilly’s chickens … have come home … to roost:
[W]hile Wright made no mention of terrorism, he did revisit the topic of America’s mistreatment of blacks, saying America’s founding fathers “planted slavery and white supremacy in the DNA of this republic,” and adding that Thomas Jefferson wrote, “‘God would punish America for the sin of slavery.’ I guess that makes Thomas Jefferson unpatriotic,” he said to the cheers of the congregation.
Reflecting on the late Pincham, Wright said his faith “was not the jingoistic, chauvinistic ‘you’re either with us or against us’ demonizing kind of faith.” Wright said Pincham was friends with “Jews, Muslims, rabbis, imams, fathers in the Catholic church and [Louis] Farrakhan in the Islamic faith.”
Escalating into full-preaching mode, Wright thundered, “Fox News can’t understand that. [Bill] O’Reilly will never get that. Sean Hannity’s stupid fantasy will keep him forever stuck on stupid when it comes to comprehending how you can love a brother who does not believe what you believe. [Pincham’s] faith was a faith in a God who loved the whole world not just one country or one creed.”
At that point, congregants nearly drowned Wright out with a booming standing ovation.
Wright also referred to Fox News as “Fix News.”
Serves Fox right for breaking this story wide open last month. Except, of course, it wasn’t Fox who broke it, it was Brian Ross at ABC. Since there’s nothing to be gained by demagoging ABC, O’Reilly and Hannity become the scapegoats, replete with dopey Olbermannesque pun on FNC’s name as a sort of dog whistle to the left to let them know now’s the time to start scapegoating their favorite hobbyhorse for daring to report that this cretin believes America’s responsible for AIDS. It’s tempting to believe Obama put him up to it, but that simply can’t be true: Antagonizing Fox into taking on Wright anew is the last thing his campaign wants to do.
Exit question: Is he actually using his friendship with Louis Farrakhan as an example of tolerance? What a brilliant stroke. Too bad Bush and McCain didn’t think of that vis-a-vis Bob Jones and Hagee. It’s not that they’re looking the other way at bigotry, you see, it’s that they’re simply trying to be inclusive.

Hmm, alittle malfunction i using the quote option. :(
ThePrez on April 13, 2008 at 3:43 PM
The man quotes Thomas Jefferson and talks about him like he was some comrade of Wright in a revolution…this sickens me! And then he talks about a religion of inclussiveness. I guess Wright doesn’t know anything about history, quick recap:
1) Jefferson was an instrumental figure in the Babary Wars between the USA and the Islamic Pirates (Terrorists) in North Africa
2) Rich Africans and Islamic African Lords sold or forced most of the original slaves who came to this nation and the carribean. So, lets remember, black people sold black people to be the slaves of white people…
I know there is more to both those points, I am a history major, but I wanted to allow that perspective…

No one I know deserves any punishment for the acts of the slavers of the 1700 and 1800s. If these people are bound and determined to “punish” somebody then let them find the families of the slave owners and give it a shot . . . but stay the hell away from me with their nonsense. This whole thing is turning into a huge pile of donkey dung.

I can’t help but laugh, think of it, this is a funeral and this guy is talking about Fox News and Sean and calling him stupid. Well done, preacher, you are such a jerk, that title you gave yourself as “Reverend” is a joke too, along with the rest of your cronies who diguise themselves as “Reverends”, when there is nothing to revere.

So in one breath Wright commends someone who loves people who believe differently, but in the next he calls Hannity stupid for believing differently.

Might a well shout out “Allah Akbar!!!”
He’s a man on a mission to promote god will. However, anti-Christ like in every way imaginable. Barack Hussein Obama has demonstrated his preachers belief in the Angry Religious Gun Toting Average Typical Parishioner of Wright’s Church of the Perpetually Offended.
Let’s just blame all our problems on the Rich White People. Not to mention that it was White people that fought and died for their freedom from slavery. No that would not be forgiving enough to warrant any Christian values. At least not in the Church of Wright’s Christian values.
Perhaps Islam’s view on Slavery would be more to the Wright’s liking.

Is this the same Pincham that this story speaks of? Sounds like another opportunistic Afro-supremist to me.
–
During the 1987 mayoral campaign, while serving as an Appellate Court Justice, Pincham made the provocative statement that any man South of Madison Street who did not vote for Harold Washington’s re-election ought to be hung.
Forever afterwards, he was known as “Lynch’em Pincham.” The firebrand Reverend Jeremiah Wright could not have matched Pincham’s eloquence on that infamous occasion. Appropriately enough, Pincham attended Wright’s Afrocentric Trinity United Church of Christ.
A scandal followed and the matter was litigated in the civil courts and Pincham was referred to the Illinois Judicial Inquiry Board for misconduct. The disciplinary case was mooted when Pincham conveniently resigned his position in
1989 before the imposition of any penalty. Significantly, his timely resignation saved his judicial pension. The Judicial Inquiry Board entered no sanction in the case and finally dismissed the case in 1992 after four years of
official procrastination without making any findings. As a consequence, Pincham did not forfeit his retirement benefits.

I really don’t understand the hatred of Fox News. I hardly feel like they’re conservative when they keep telling me not to water my lawn on account of global warming. But just try posting on article from Fox News on, say, Digg.com, and see if the first reply you get doesn’t mention “Faux News.” I’ve even seen this happen when the exact same story was running on CNN!

It’s hilarious how CNN’s Wolf Bltizer and Jack Cafferty keep propping up Obama’s presidential bid. CNN is so in the tank for Obama, it’s unbelievable. I thought network news channels were supposed to be objective. Objectivity went out of the cable news networks after the dems accused Bush of stealing the election and cable news producers and pundits like Blitzer and Cafferty (You can bet they voted for Kerry) joined forces to spread liberal propaganda. The anger of the left for the big steal is still boiling in their sniveling liberal minds that have been almost globally warmed to perfection.

it is, frankly, embarrassing to read the words that come out of the mouths of today’s “black leadership”, from the public ravings of Rev. Wright, Obama’s evasive and dishonest “Race Speech”, and any one of a thousand recorded utterances by most of the others.
Shakespeare said it best: “A tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing”.
It is painful to read some of these speeches then try to analyze them, from the babblings of Jackson or Sharpton to the lauded “poems” of Maya Angelou (famous at the first Clinton inaugural).
Thay’re illogical, verbose blatherings: the work of second-rate intellects straining to be taken seriously. Far Left, almost exclusively, and soaking in self-pity, they point to an almost complete absence of basic analytical acuity. I often wonder about the basic intelligence of some of these speakers. Are they incapable of analyzing complex and important problems at all? Or are they just so corrupt that they don’t care about the impact of their words?
With a pathetic quality of low-wattage “leadership” like this, no wonder many in the black community are struggling.

thePrez We were punished for that sin, it was called the Civil War, where we almost lost our republic.
I’m fed up with reading how slavery was THE reason for the Civil War. There were other reasons as well. The south and western states had little representation in Washington, because of lower populations. The northeastern states basicaly dictated to the other states. Trade was another.
When southern states and presumably western states as well, brought their goods to market in New York, they were charged tariffs by the other northern states as they went trough them. Likely the reason for the Interstate Commerce Act. Course, I went to school a long time ago, being 56 yrs.
I also live in North Carolina.

Correct me if I am wrong. Didn’t America outlaw slavery some 140-145 years ago. Meaning, the country recognized that it was morally reprehesible and corrected the country’s past sins. Reverand @sshat can’t see that as a good thing. But of course, if the Rev. were to start acknowledging the good of America, he’d have to sacrifice his identity politics. If he did that, he’d loose his reason to exist.

The above was one of Wright’s quotes from the article. I find it ironic given Wright’s other messages where all he does is place blame on the rich white man.
I never realized how much they hate us. If they could only realize how infrequently we think of them. In other words, the white man is not at all preoccupied with keeping down the black man. Most white men and women are preoccupied with raising our kids right, working hard, and keeping roofs over our heads. People like Wright should work on empowering their congregants to do the same. Work on the out of wedlock birth rate, drugs, the incarceration of young black men at an alarming rate and all of the issues from within that are leading to the decimation of the black community.
sheesh on April 13, 2008 at 5:10 PM
I wasnt referring to slavery, I was referring to the years of economic exploitation and propping up of tin-pot dictators in that continent by our nation and other democratically elected powers. Since this was done by our governement in collusion with other democracies, yes we do hold a degree of responsibility. Weve come along way towards that goal under President Bush.
This is why the Muslim world has been mentioned as well.

Wade on April 13, 2008 at 5:56 PM
Most black slavery today is self imposed. Their dominant culture among youths and young adults dictates pressuring to cease and desist, under the threat of violence, any black person in the local community school system who dares wants to excel, achieve, learn, contribute or anything similar to make a color blind America. That’s the truth. The type of shunning that exists in Rev. Wrights neighborhood (not Mr. Rogers) keeps the man (and woman) down at all costs. Wright and Obama are enablers of this dreadful counter US culture sick syndrome. The Wrights, Obamas, sharptons, Jacksons, etc make a generous living off of perpetuating this sin on their own people. Yes, God will punish, but it will be on their sorry heads when the day of reckoning comes. Too bad so many potentially productive lives will be lost to what could have been a thriving inner city and America.

OK, call be a shade of naiveté if you will, but look at what you’re saying.
You’re not blaming America in one sentence and then saying we’re a nation that has done wrong. Deliberately?
So, which is it? If we are a nation that has done anything wrong, then it been through electing clowns like Jimma Carter.
My point, which I’m sure you didn’t grasp, was Wright’s persistent anti-American, [Rich] White [People] bigoted, Somebody Owes Me Reparations, Incite a Riot Sermons do nothing to promote any unity as a race, people or country.
Instead, he enslaves his congregation into the past by not freeing them into their own future. Their potential for achievement.
Point: slavery comes in may different colors and themes. Not just brown.
As for my Saudi Arabia reference; color was not the point. The Islamic government that is Saudi Arabia promotes and propagates modern day slavery. I suggested Wright might be among other that Damn America.

Bill Clinton finally had his “shut up” moment with Hillary this week, when Bill tried to dream up some new lies to explain Hillary’s fibs about her Tuzla trip. That will probably keep him in check for a few weeks, but his ego won’t allow him to stay silent for very long, if Hillary continues in the race.
The same thing is true with Rev. Wright. Three decades of ego-stroking his beliefs by his south side Chicago congregation mean he’s addicted to saying this stuff and receiving adulation from the masses, albeit not on the scale Bill Clinto used to feel the love from liberals, no matter what he did. Wright shut things down immediately after ABC did the story on his DVDed hate sermons, and canceled his speaking engagments in Texas, but here he is again, offering up more of the same thing.
Wright’s going to keep doing it at periodic intervals now through the general election, because he can’t help himself. And as long as Obama is too fearful of the consequences of telling the reverend in public to “shut up”, Wright’s going to be the loutish/scoundrel brother Barak never had, in the Billy Carter-Neil Bush-Roger Clinton vein, only with far more hatred aimed towards, and potential damage coming from, the American people.

You are a generous soul.

I can’t seem to reach a common ground with you on this.
Here’s my point. I’ll try to say it as clearly as I can:
Jews, of which I am one, are often a political problem because they tend to be liberals and vote Democrat, and don’t generally support conservative values. Their “leaders”, the guys/women who get on TV or into politics, or grab the spotlight, not elected, but self-selected, too often represent the liberal point of view, and defend indefensible Dem. politicians. None of that has much of anything to do with me, a lone and lonely Jewish conserv. guy in NY. That’s what I’m saying about blacks. While there may be plenty of exceptions, and you are apparently a conservative, what I said about Am. Jews I say about Am. blacks. Shoot me.

I should have added, that I am coming to the conclusion that all this talk about race and Obama is a red herring. Obama, as I think I said to you yesterday, is a white liberal. I am aware that he is genetically of mixed race.

Cut the money off…America will never win the hearts and minds of the black community as long as they are led by Wrights, Sharptons, Jacksons, their current wunderkind Obama. And so the saying goes that if you can’t win their hearts and minds grab them by the balls and the rest will follow. The black community is in large part supported by the taxpayers. From the government projects that I drive by everyday to the millions of section eight welfare mothers raising their children on foodstamps, WIC, Social Security, Medicaid and an host of other programs, the black community would cease to exist as we know it if these programs were to someday stop paying. Place pressure on these programs and the steady stream of hate mongering from their leadership would cease to exist. They need to learn a little R.E.S.P.E.C.T.. America is being played for the fool as well as being laughed at and reviled by those we are trying to help. Cut the money off…

What makes you think I’m white?

I should have added..
JiangxiDad on April 13,2008 at 10:22PM.
JiangxiDad: I’m starting to think the racial controversies
by Wright are nothing but divide and conguer!
Because since wright opened his mouth, the race
discussions have escalated,and especially on
Republican blogs!
Liberals are gifted at sh!t-disturbing,and
distractions, just think back to the Clinton
term,one distraction after another!
All this race baiting with Wright is a Styx
Grand illusion song of distraction. Its a waste
of time and its dividing everyone!
Lets all keep an eye on the prize, the best
POTUSOA that can run the War on terror the
most affectively!
