Video: Hillary Clinton, defender of the common man; Update: Full video added

Is a woman unaffectionately known to the HA readership as “Her Majesty,” whose overweening sense of entitlement helped drive one of her husband’s own cabinet members into the Obama tent, really the best person to make this argument? Nope, but somebody had to say it. Follow the link and read her full statement, as this soundbite only scratches the surface. If she and her team were even halfway competent, the video would already be posted on YouTube and her website. It’ll be there eventually, I suppose. I’ll add it here when it is.

Next up: A conference call with heartlander Tom Vilsack to push the elitism angle while Indiana favorite son Evan Bayh hammers away at electability.

Link: sevenload.com

Update: Looks like I owe Team Hillary an apology. They are on the ball this time, and not a moment too soon. Here’s the full video from her YT channel. Money quote: “I don’t think it helps to divide our country into one America that is enlightened and one that is not.”

“Of course, as a result, I started hanging out with the wrong crowd–the beer drinkers.

“And it wasn’t just the beer. Some of them actually went out in the woods in the fall, and shot animals. And kilt ‘em. With real guns!

“I was shocked, of course. For all their diversity, none of my gay friends would have ever thought of doing anything like that. But with my job loss, and lack of money for pedicures and pommade, they didn’t want to hang with me any more. So I borried a twelve gauge over’n'under, and went out with my new beer-drinking animal-killing friends in the woods. And I’ll tell you what, when I shot down that eight-pointer, I felt a sense of power over the helpless in a way that I hadn’t since I’d been looking down on the rednecks when I had that good job in Pittsburgh, driving around town in my 528i.

“But somehow the killing, and hating those two-timing nancy boys wasn’t enough. I was still in despair. I started to search for answers, and I thought that I found them in Jesus. It started small, just church on Sunday, with prayers and a lecture from the preacher.

“But it didn’t stop there. Soon I was attending Wednesday night revivals, and huzzahing and hossanahing, and babbling with the best of them. After a few months I’d graduated to juggling garter snakes, then rattlers.

“But it wasn’t enough. Despite all the gun caressing, and animal killing, and hatred of people who weren’t like me, and anger at the Colombians who were…doing something to me–I’m not entirely sure what, and the tongue speaking and snake handling, I still couldn’t find a job.

Oh I know she thinks the same thing…

But I like Hillary because she’s a political windsock. Not only is she too smart to say as much, she likes power too much to act on it. I much prefer a president who will give me Bread and Circuses to the candidate who will give me an ineffable “Hope and Change”.

The Race Card on April 12, 2008 at 2:15 PM

I am so confused. As a New Yorker, I never hated any politician as much as Hillary. But now, she just keeps making this race so much fun! The way she has kept herself in this race, and keeps making all the right moves on just how to cut down Saint Obama at the knees…let’s just say she’d be less of a sissy president than Obama. She’s probably even more out of touch with regular Americans than Obama, but she’d never say so, and that makes her a better politician, and simply more qualified. Also, I don’t want a f**king Marxist in the white house.

It doesn’t matter, since McCain can beat either one of them, but I have to thank Hillary for quite a few good laughs, something I couldn’t have conceived ever doing a few years ago.

McCain 08!

It is amazing how much we have found out about Obama in the span of about 3 months. If he had made this comment before Iowa, his campaign would have been over.

JiangxiDad on April 12, 2008 at 2:30 PM

Granted, all of us (well, most) lament these insipid never-ending campaigns but they do, in the end, serve a purpose: To wit, eventually the candidate drops the mask and his or her true character and views come through.

Shorten the campaign by six months and Obama may just have been able to pull it off.

He’s not toast – certainly not croutons – but he’s burning up his “new politician” fig leaf fast.

MNDavenotPC on April 12, 2008 at 2:41 PM

Something odd. Her grandfather supposedly started working in the mill at age 11, but won a football scholarship to Penn State, according to this.

“Some of you know that my grandfather came to Scranton when he was 3 years old,” she said, recalling that he went to work in a local lace mill when he was 11 years old, spending his entire lifetime working in the mill. She remembered that before winning a football scholarship to Penn State, her grandfather played in the “Dream Game,” an annual all-star contest that pits players from Scranton high schools against those from surrounding communities…”

It’s hard to imagine that her grandfather was a “blue collar textile worker” following college graduation. Hillary’s grandfather must have been born in the late 1800’s, say 1890. That makes him 11 in 1901, and a college grad in roughly 1910. That’s pretty rare. And he was a mill worker??

“I didn’t say it as well as I should have because you know the truth is is that these traditions that are passed on from generation to generation those are important,” Obama admitted.

The traditions of racism, sexism, xenophobia, religious fanaticism. Ol barry had to go to africa to escape those traditions that are passed down in American families. If only he had stayed there.

peacenprosperity on April 12, 2008 at 3:08 PM

She was right on the ball there. I agreed with most of what she said. Guns aren’t just for hunting Hillary, they are so self defense. What a weasal argument…also I don’t know about Bush’s “assault” on the middle class, whatever the hell that is. And if people were doing well in 1990s, it sure as hell was because of their own effort and the whims of the markets, not because of a sitting President.

Dr. Manhattan on April 12, 2008 at 3:11 PM

I happened across this quote from TammyBrucedotcom:

“Bimbos, sluts, trailer trash, rednecks, and sh*t-kickers …
Terms Hillary commonly used to describe Arkansans (American Evita, p. 139).”

Sorry, what was that about not dividing America into enlightened and unenlightened? She’s so full of shit herself. I just happens to be Barry O that’s made the most recent goof. I’m afraid I despise this witch so much that even if the Obamessiah was to wipe his backside with the American flag in front of an assembly of schoolchildren I would still want him to beat Hillary. (and then for McCain to win in November….er…obviously)

schiehallion on April 12, 2008 at 3:12 PM

Yeah, but then lets face it, so does McCain. He thinks America is filled with a bunch of redneck nativeists that don’t understand what’s best for them. Clinton’s response to this matter was much better than McCain’s, especially considering that she spoke the words herself rather than releasing a statement through a surrogate as McCain did.

To a point. She lost me with the, paraphrased, “…president Bush (screwed) the middle class of America, which had it better under Clinton…”. While she sounds eloquent, hitting all the right notes, she’s also full of caca, and don’t forget who she is.

1. No one looks down on others more, no matter who they are, than Hillary.
2. Wishes are not reality. Reality is reality. And the reality is, yes Obama, Edwards-has-been, and Hillary, there is only ONE America, and we’re all in it.
3. This ONE America has the largest middle class of any country in the world.
4. This ONE America’s middle class has the highest productivity and standard of living of any other in the world.
5. This ONE America’s middle class pays the taxes and suffers the burden for all the others, the rich and the poor in this country.
6. This ONE America’s middle class is not bitter, because it’s too busy being productive.
7. This ONE America has it better than ever before. Just look at the cars on the road, the lines at restaurants, the way one can’t even walk fast in just about any airport, due to crowds, the size of houses, the amount of garbage taken out every week, etc., etc., etc….

…and on, and on, and on…

Obama is a hypocrite, in the pocket of billionaires.
Hillary is in the same lap.
Both are feeding off an agitated “bitterness”, pretending that they swoop in to save us from ourselves.

Run America, run as fast, and as far away from both. Machiavellian and Pinocchian, both.

My father’s father, Hugh Sr., was the sixth of eleven children. He started work at the Scranton Lace Company when he was still a boy and ended up as supervisor five decades later.

Dad was a solid athlete, and the coach agreed, so Dad went to State College and played for the Nittany Lions. He also boxed and joined the Delta Upsilon fraternity, where, I’m told, he became an expert at making bathtub gin. He graduated in 1935 and at the height of the Depression returned to Scranton with a degree in physical education.

The Second Amendment wasn’t enacted for hunters. It was enacted by concerned fathers who wanted to shoot intruders into their homes dead. Obama has exposed himself as an elitist, and that is one of the hardest accusations one can shake off. Hillary’s fatal flaw is one of character, specifically that doesn’t have a semblance of any.

These two are giving the election to McCain. I truthfully see a victory of at least 40 states in November.

it’s nearly time to exercise those second amendment rights and send the enemies of this great country packing.

They consort with the enemy and and constantly work to over throw the consitution of these great states both from within and without. Potomac Tea Party …time, great name for a new movement.

Why not respect and reward all people by drawing back government? Don’t get hung up on looking for favored classifications for your pet groups. If government took steps back from regulating and interfering this would have a greater effect on all including this OT class you’re referring to.

Do that too, like Rudy was going to do by only hiring 1/2 the Federal workforce that retires, and also look for other ways to cut the Federal government.. but it would be nice to see incentives to work hard, like the removing of Taxes on overtime wages.

Obama To Rural Americans: Vote For Me, You Corncob-Smokin’, Banjo-Strokin’ Chicken-Chokin’ Cousin-Pokin’ Inbred Hillbilly Racist Morons…

Go SnOb-ama Go!

I thought the racist Wright stuff would be enough, but this… this is just PRICELESS!

A classic John Kerry moment “I was AGAINST the Chicken-Chokers, before I was FOR them”…

Oh! And of course the now-required “I’m sorry if you were stupid enough to be offended” non-apology.

“Barack Hussein Obama, singlehandedly keeping the N-word alive for another Century!”

The fact that an invited “billionaire for Hillary” operative went to the billionaire row party, had the speech recorded in secret, then gave it to the HuffPoo, normally Obama’s playground, to give Hillary the opportunity to get back on top, at the most critical time, is Shakespearean.

She’s so full of caca, and in the same billionaires’ laps, and might get away with it because Obama’s naivite made him say such stupid things in San Francisco, in the bossom of idealistic, rich, elitist, billionaire filth.

If she does, imagine the wrath, the hell Pelosi, Reid, Richardson, the Kennedys, and a slu of others will pay.

I agree with most of your statement except the Billionaire Filth part. Being a Billionaire does not automatically qualify you as filth but I concede that San Fran does have the lions share of the filthy ones.
