A little late Friday Hammertime for you. Same question as last night: Will Obama absorb any collateral damage from this? His camp already took the appropriate “distancing” measures but, true to Obama form, the man himself is too exalted to say an unkind word about Jimbo personally. McCain has yet to deliver any body blows, but Gingrich isn’t waiting around:
“I feel very deeply that for him to meet with Hamas is an act of such total irresponsibility and he bears with him the burden of being a former president of the United States. He is not a free agent.”…
“I think President Carter represents exactly what Obama represents. A left-wing worldview which regards the United States as a bad country and which goes around the world trying to propitiate our enemies…”
Exit question: Do my ears deceive me or does Alisyn Camerota tell the Hammer she’s “sexy” at the end of the clip? Good lord. She really does lead a charmed life.

Whoo Hooo Ham!
Chakra Hammer on April 11, 2008 at 5:43 PM
I disagree with her. If there are Jewish people who are still voting for Obama after the Wright and Farrakhan connections came to light, Jimmah Traitor’s teatime with terrorists isn’t going to take the stars out of their eyes either, sadly enough.
Exit question: Yep, she did. Had it been Julie Banderas saying it…whoa…

Admit it, you’re gender biased or at least uncute challenged.
Women do have a power over men thats
nearlyirresistible. There’s something thats easy to agree with.
Speakup on April 11, 2008 at 6:01 PM
Mary Katherine is indeed awesome.
I’ve never understood why Jewish people vote with the liberals when liberals generally want to appease terrorists.
What’s up with that?
Travis1 on April 11, 2008 at 6:02 PM
Not really sure how she’s an expert on the Jewish vote. And actually she isn’t because she’s wrong. Actually, as someone who knows just a tad about my community, I can safely (and sadly) say that Jews continue to support Obama in large numbers, as I’ve documented repeatedly on my site. And despite her ill-informed claim, this won’t change that.

There’s a reason why you’re the boss. I probably would’ve made the same mistake.

rivlax on April 11, 2008 at 6:12 PM
Dude, I totally skipped to the end to hear the “sexy” comment.
Anyway. Do you notice how Obama’s response is always “I have said…” Did he really? “No one has been as strong…” Has he?
When did he do a speech on antisemitism that was more than the usual boiler plate? When did he ever speak about Israel positively (when not praising the Palestinians).
Agrippa2k on April 11, 2008 at 6:16 PM
They need to get MKH on more of these types of segments; great job as usual. While she always handles Bill O’Reilly well, IMO her talent is kind of wasted in her appearances there. Partly because he just interrupts her too darn much.
inviolet on April 11, 2008 at 6:17 PM
Is Sen. Obama getting more of the Jewish vote than Hillary?
terryannonline on April 11, 2008 at 6:36 PM
Any chance for a future video of a Victoria’s Secret lingerie pillow fight between Alisyn and MKH?
ToddonCapeCod on April 11, 2008 at 6:38 PM
‘No one has been as strong. . . ‘ meaning . . . I’M THE CHAMPION OF THE WORLD!
The Hammer did look good all dolled up there.
But I really don’t understand why people just don’t consider Carter an anti-Semite anyway. He always takes the anti-Israel side, yet somehow never gets called out for it. He even wrote an anti-Semitic book. It is such a shame that this once powerful man used the rest of his life as he did. He’s great with habitat for humanity. His international diplomacy really is bush league, and mostly anti-American.

Well Hot Air heads eat your hearts out,I watched the Hammer
live at 6:20AM,They had MKH on twice!
MKH needs her own show, actually Michelle and Hammer
need a show together, someone needs to draft, and pitch
it to FOX!
One thing I really enjoy when MKH is on,her political
analysis is dead on,she’s articulate and witty, and when
Fox and Friends said she was going to be on,WOOHOO,so
excellent!
And as always MKH looked great,in that red sweater!
canopfor on April 11, 2008 at 8:10 PM
Maybe because not all Jewish voters are not taking the ‘we are afraid to talk to terrorists’ right wing hardline (http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/971877.html), or maybe because they don’t all think that the current US/Israeli policy is terrific?

Just wondering how much HotAir’s traffic spikes when the words “Video: Mary Katharine Ham” appear in the headlines. A lot, I’ll bet.

Yeah because most of them are Socialist ass**** who cannot recognize an existential threat if it bit them on the gonads.

The majority of Jews who actually think of themselves as Jewish (not secular humanist citizens of the world types) I doubt will vote for Obama. Certainly the Orthodox community will not.
Hilts on April 11, 2008 at 10:40 PM
I don’t bowl however I am willing to learn. Would they send me some place special?
Did I mention that I have all my hair?
Claypigeon on April 11, 2008 at 11:27 PM
So I am confused. Are the majority of Jews “socialist ass****”, or do these jews not count and we should only count the “Jews who actually think of themselves as Jewish”
Is there such a thing as a Jew who counts him/herself is a Jew but doesn’t think of him/herself as Jewish?
mycowardice on April 11, 2008 at 11:30 PM
I would suggest you first take up the bowling lessons and THEN try to contact MKH:

Impressive. Well, I can’t bowl however I can thread a dime from 40 yards away with an un-zeroed M4 Carbine. I’m pretty sure I can take out all those pins… (Just not with a bowling ball)
;-)

A heartbeat, loyal and conservative. Hell, you can date my sister!
Claypigeon on April 12, 2008 at 3:28 AM
QuestionL Why would she call you MKH when she’s already called MKH? (Unless, of course, you meant “Call me, [comma] MKH.” Big difference there, Clay, as evidenced here.)
But I digress.
I couldn’t help thinking that MKH’s makeup in this interview made her look a little like post-island Kate on “Lost.” (Not that we’ve ever seen MKH all grimy, fresh out of a plane crash, on a deserted island, in a tank top, running from black smoke monsters and creepy Others…)
Captain Scarlet on April 12, 2008 at 3:32 AM
Because despite claiming to be progressive, they are in fact reactionary. They cling to their grandparents turn of the century viewpoints politically even though those positions no longer suit them or the real world. You would think they are all factory workers and are fighting for justice in the workplace. I don’t know if it is a Jewish thing but the behavior of the jews in Vienna before the second world war was very similar. Many looked the other way or even supported the nazis
right up until they were banging down their owns doors. The family of the philosopher Wittgenstein were denying the evil of the nazis right up until some were arrested and the others had to flee.
peacenprosperity on April 12, 2008 at 9:01 AM
Did she have a date after this show?
peacenprosperity on April 12, 2008 at 9:11 AM
Yes his associations with the Wrong Right Rev. Wright, and Screwy Lewy tell Jewish coalitions that Breakup Obama is not on their side.
Further, MKH could not score a 37 in bowling because she is a righty and Breakup Obama is a lefty. When a lefty stands on the right side of the lane they just give themselves more room to push (look at his release) the ball to the left gutter.
MKH bowled every shot from the center. But her ball found the groove established by the majority of previous bowlers that helped guide her intentional attempts to screw up to the target anyway.
Bowl em over MKH-come on why do you think they call all of the female commentators “Foxy Ladies”.
MSGTAS on April 12, 2008 at 9:55 AM
It’s tendentious to characterize the “right wing” position as being “afraid” to talk to terrorists. More accurately, it’s considered counterproductive. You become an enabler of terrorism by sitting down with them and asking them what they want after they kill a bunch of women and children. Their quite reasonable conclusion is blowing stuff up is a way to get you to the table, which leads to more terrorism in the future. It’s pretty simple psychology, actually. And it is a shameless form of projection to claim that those who would fight terrorists are the fearful ones as opposed to those pusillanimous souls like Jimmy Carter who would instead pay them off. By this standard, the Vichy French were the heroes of World War II, because they were not “afraid” to play ball with unsavory elements. Somehow History doesn’t see it that way.
Also, your use of the phrase “right wing” is unclear. Aren’t the terrorists the classic “right wingers” of the balmy liberal imagination? You know — racist, sexist, racist, anti-gay and all that? How is it that men who want to fight and not negotiate with the racist, sexist, segregationist, homophobic regressive force that is Radical Islam are now also “right wingers”?
Another bit of sleight-of-hand in your comment is that the Jews don’t think the US/Israeli is terrific. That’s a straw man. No one said that the policy is or has to be “terrific.” The mystery is why liberal Jews over a policy that is not “terrific” would prefer a policy that is, to coin a phrase, “terrorific.” You are drawing an equivalence between a policy that is “not terrific” and a policy that seeks to give material rewards to an organization whose charter calls for the extermination of all the Jews in Israel.
shazbat on April 12, 2008 at 2:52 PM
I especially enjoyed MKH’s description of Carter as the “mascot of sweater-wearing appeasement mongering”.
auzerais on April 12, 2008 at 7:07 PM
As we all now know, Jimmy Carter, America’s freelance ambassador is now about to go to Syria to meet with the leader of the terrorist group Hamas. The Administration and State Department have asked him not to go. Israel is upset-with good reason. However, Mr Carter is a stubborn man who always knows best-never mind the mess he made of things when he was president. Since leaving office, Carter hasn’t cared much if a sitting president wanted him to go somewhere and conduct diplomacy. Whether it was Haiti, North Korea or now Syria, Mr Carter knows best. He doesn’t like George Bush’s foreign policy, so he just decides he will conduct his own.
But here is something that Carter perhaps has not considered. Hamas is a terrorist organization that is actively engaged in terrorist acts against Israel. Not only that, the organization has no interest in a peaceful solution. They have no interest in negotiation with Israel. They are not interested in a two-state solution. What they want is the total destruction of Israel.
So what is there to discuss?
Mr Carter, like most Democrats, does not understand that you cannot negotiate with evil, nor can you negotiate with fanatics. That was proven conclusively in 1938, when British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain tried to negotiate with Hitler-selling out Czechoslovakia in the process. The lesson still applies.
Did we negotiate with the former Soviet Union? Yes, we did, but there was a difference. The Soviet Union, whatever its faults, was not run by fanatics, at least after Stalin died. They knew that if they went to war with the US, everybody would be destroyed, so they remained rational. We can, in fact, meet and negotiate with adversaries, but not if they are fanatics like Hamas who have no interest in negotiation or compromise. Rationality is not a quality that applies to people like Hamas, Hezbollah and Al-Qaida. They don’t care if they die.
For a known fool like Jimmy Carter to go to Syria and meet with Hamas only gives legitimacy to a terrorist organization. It goes against the wishes of the State Department, which is the agency responsible for our foreign relations. Carter of course, is no supporter of Israel. He is a foolish renegade who can only exacerbate an already bad situation. Beware of any “breakthrough” that he may announce. Of course, he has no authority to act in Bush’s name, but he could come back and apply public pressure on the administration.
It would be nice if leading Democrats would intervene and tell Carter to stay at home. Barack Obama, when asked what he thought of Carter’s trip, refused to criticize the former president-possibly since he was on the verge of getting Carter’s endorsement. For Democrats to back the administration’s prerogatives would be the responsible thing to do. That’s why they won’t rein Mr Carter in.
To sum up this fiasco in progress, the policy of not negotiating with terrorists is the proper one, and not just on moral grounds. In the end, it is a fool’s errand.

I don’t. I could be an understudy for Blue Man Group. Get it? Humor.
You posted this great list of MKH-catching qualifications and it ends with “Call me MKH.” I thought the missing comma was funny because it changed the whole meaning.
As for my sister, I have one - my only sibling in all the world. She’s disabled and in a nursing home. Feel better about yourself, pigeon?
