All of the messianic imagery surrounding the Obama campaign is there largely because he believes in it himself. Obama has received nothing but praise and “you should be president” accolades for the past 20 years. And he’s received these things without ever proving that he deserved them. No doubt he imagined this presidential run would fit a familiar pattern. The problem he’s running into is that he’s never before had to rigorously defend himself or his positions. So I suppose in that way, he was woefully unprepared.

Anyway…I’m sure he entered the race fully believing (if not expecting) he’d be elected. He just never imagined that he’d need to actually earn it. After all, he’s never had to fight for anything before, so why should this be any different?

What schools did you go to, little man?

Rookies shouldn’t run for President

Hypothesis: BO didn’t get into the campaign with the expectation that he’d be a front-runner. At the time, Hil was viewed as the inevitable nominee. This was supposed to be a trial run for BO, to give him name-recognition and campaign experience for a future run. Hence, he didn’t need substance. The subsequent BO fever was a surprise for which he was unprepared.

Rookies should not run for President.

That aside, has this Obambi crap made it to the front pages of the Washington Post, or the NY Times, or to the broadcast news? Until it does, you can be sure that the 90% of Americans who don’t read blogs won’t know anything about it—not unless John McCain can hammer it home in the fall with ads, and he’s said he won’t turn ‘negative’.
