New Jihad Watch: A fitna over Fitna

posted at 12:15 pm on April 11, 2008 by Michelle

Thanks to our volunteer Hot Air video editor, we’ve got a new episode of Robert Spencer’s Jihad Watch.

“Fitna” in Arabic means discord or upheaval, and with his sixteen-minute film by that name, Dutch politician Geert Wilders has been stirring up a lot of…fitna:

Blowback

Another home run Michelle and Robert. Top notch analysis of the criticism of the film. Thanks. And thanks to our volunteer Hot Air video editor as well.

If the Koran ain’t hatespeech, nothing is.

I’m not for banning unpopular speech.

But seeing it for what it is.

Koran = anti-infidel, terroristic, dogmatic intolerance.

The first and worst victims of Islam are Muslims.

May they one day be free of this mental tyranny.

Excellent, Robert. It is not Geert Wilders who made the association between the Qur’an and violence. It is Muslims themselves. Between what Pope Benedict and Geert Wilders have done recently and what you and many others have been trying to do for a number of years now, the Islamic world is finally experiencing real fitna.

Perhaps the United Nations needs to experience it as well. To showcase the hateful words in the Qur’an that are being used NOW to justify suicide bombings and violence against non-Muslims and Muslims alike is not a crime. What is a crime is for the international community to cowardly turn a blind eye and allow it to continue.

Islamic justice is not justice.

“How dare you bring up the discord that shows that Muslims are violent! We’ll kill you for that!”

Fantastic piece, and I thought the point that with a few edits, it could be Al-Aqsa material, was extremely sharp.

If this were made by a pro-Jihad muslim, they’d be lauding it, and it would be able to be on YouTube and numerous other video sites without a single problem.

MadisonConservative on April 11, 2008 at 1:55 PM

What sort of disconnect does it take to see clips of Imams inciting violence based on quotes from the Koran…and then blame the person who put them in the film?

Kids, this is what liberalism does to your brain.

When Britain becomes a caliphate, the BBC should be the first to blame.

Indonesia: Indonesia Ends Ban On YouTube Over Anti-Islam Film

“The online service providers said Friday (11 Apr) they will instead try to block access to individual pages on the sites carrying Geert Wilders’ short film.

Brilliant. Concise. Cogent.

A home run, R.S.

I can add nothing.

We’re looking forward to the Pope’s dialogue in NY, as his messages always reveal the essence of matter. Noonan should remember John Paul’s advice, not to fear what reception awaits simply because of his accent; Walt Disney did much to curb America’s fanaticism against the German accent with his trusty and beloved animated professor duck (Donald’s uncle?). Seriously, Pope Benedict XVI began this brave and honest front from which Fitna emerges on a more immediate level for public consumption. May God protect the Pope as he bears the good news with his UN meeting for peace.

The film points out a muslim exercising their free speech right to call for the death of Jews and infadels. Nothing more.

Are we quickly condemning a muslims right to call for the murder of innocent people?

Or are we condemning a persons right to point out what the muslim said?

I can’t think of one website that dissects the jihad crapola better or more eloquently then Jihad Watch, and those videos are always a fine example of why. Bravo, Jihad Watch, and please keep up the good work, Mr. Spencer. We’re a much more enlightened household because of your website and your books. Thank you for skipping Britney and dancing stars to disseminate important information.

Me, I’m just waiting patiently for the fitna to hit the fan.

Robert,

It never ceases to astound me,that is,the depth of your understanding of the real threat.
Having spent some time in the middle east and north Africa, not much but some, I am SO glad you’re here to put it all in the proper context. Truly outstanding!!

jerrytbg on April 12, 2008 at 8:06 AM

Frickin’ brilliant!

I am still waiting for the condemnation from the Muslim higher ups for 9/11. Typical UN response, “kill the messenger”… Remember, “there are many religions in this world, but only one religion of peace”!!!!!

pueblo1032 on April 12, 2008 at 9:56 AM

Glad to see Spencer on Hot Air video again! He provides a strong and essential message that needs to be circulated. Thank you to all involved.

Two questions:
***
Spencer mentions the 57 nation organization of OIC (marker 1:15) . . .geeez, the last time I saw reference to that organization it was 56 nations strong. What did I miss?
***

In the movie FITNA, the scripted translation of the imam who unsheaths his sword and screeches the words “Allahu Akbar” is translated as “Allah is great” . . .In previous reading of Spencer’s work I thought that the phrase translated to “Allah is greatest. Which is correct?

Spencer Speaks About Islam | UPDATED: More Explication of Fitna

Connie on April 12, 2008 at 12:57 PM

The bottom line is that no Muslim can be trusted. Islam is not a race, it’s not a nationality. It’s a belief no different than Nazism. Those who believe it are dangerous bigots, and it’s unfortunate that other religious people are totally incapable of seeing beyond their own refusal to question their own religious beliefs to see how dangerous Muslims really are.

When your belief is only a little less stupid than the other guys, there is no way you can criticize it. So they don’t.

A couple of weeks ago someone called Muslims “illiterate half wits” and Robert went out of his way to condemn that statement. Why? The best thing you could possibly say about any Muslims is that they are stupid.

Whatever. I’ve given up hope. Islam will win. The only hope I have left is that it won’t happen in my lifetime.

Jaynie59 on April 13, 2008 at 2:58 AM

Jaynie,

I couldn’t disagree with you more in your zealousness to underestimate Muslims, but it’s interesting that even as you characterize them as stupid half-wits, you have given up, and I, who do not believe Muslims are stupid half-wits in any greater proportion than any other group, have not given up the struggle against the global jihad and Islamic supremacism, and never will.
