I’m underwhelmed. The car wasn’t going that fast.

Fast enough that it would’ve caned pretty hard if it had hit.

Could’ve done it a couple of ways, including the long focal length, or the good ole’ fashioned taking two shots and laying one over the other, or even a blue screen, judging from the splodgy shadow.

Good fun anyway, and it’d be banned if it was shown on TV I would think. I do remember those other basketball and football ones from a year or two back though..

It seems faked to me because it is SOOOOooo out of character with Kobe Bryant. Culturism is a HUGE lakers fan. And I think Kobe should win MVP. The league is still peaved at him because he got in that situation with that psycho woman. That undoubtedly tainted his reputation.

However, before and after that event, Kobe has been all about winning. Whether or not you find him charming or hard to live with, he personifies the work ethic. He was threatening to leave my beloved Lakers because he could not win there. One reason he did not like Shaq was that Shaq, God love him, is a slacker. Whenever Kobe is interviewed he mentions having to work harder. He is not kind to people who do not put out %110 effort.

It seems very unlikely that Kobe would undermine the purpose of his life for a stunt. Nevertheless, he and Ronny Turiaf who is with him, should be reprimanded for making this ad. It is thuggish and encourages dangerous behavior.

Hmm. That may be right, but I think there must still be some digital manipulation. Look at the shadow on the ground—the one that looks a bit like the number seven. Kobe steps on it when he’s preparing to jump; and the car drives over it. If the car was further back than Kobe it shouldn’t have run over the shadow at all.

The K Swiss ads featuring famour Parkour athlete Sebastien Foucan are better. Foucan actually does a lot of stunts like this.

Foucan is the guy being chased in Casino Royale by Bond.
