I'm always amazed at the number who fall into the traps. First we have those who want to blast YouTube because that's what the Muslims did, then we have those who cannot resist the infighting when we have a common enemy.

This was probably the worst attempt at a come back as Ive ever seen. You can pick any text and chose one or two lines out of it to make your point but the thing is, that Christianity today does not conform to barbaric actions as Islam does today. No matter how they want to slice it up.

You just dont see Christians or any other group that I know of, go around and cut peoples heads, stone them to death, or the countless suicide bombings of innocent men, women and children.

Even in the clip at the very beginning, you dont see them dragging off women and children and beating, hanging, stoning, raping etc...

And the scriptures they bring up are not what most Christians base their beliefs on... theres are more based on the teachings of Jesus, in the New Testament.

Blah.... no matter... they wont see their own hypocrisy no matter how much you show it to them.

I believe those scenes of the children are taken from the film Jesus Camp, which was produced to show a now closed children’s camp that encouraged students to engage in spiritual warfare. So, when a group of children speak of going to war, they are doing so on a spiritual level against Satan himself.

PowerofHeaven on April 10, 2008 at 2:59 PM

Exactly. That looniness in Jesus Camp may be a long, long ways away from my kind of Christianity, but it’s even further way from the lust after martyrdom inculcated upon the young minds of so many Moslems. The show is a freaky one, but even the little girl herself clearly distinguishes her kind of warriorhood with that done in the flesh.

Precisely. They were referring to a spiritual war against Satan...NOT a physical war. Apparently that's the this guy can do. There is simply no comparison between the two religions and his lame attempt to show otherwise is just that - lame.

And if you wondering about the so-called violent passages in the Old Testament, remember this: if you’re not a part of the “Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites” then it doesn’t apply to you. It’s exclusive and extremely particular.

The violent old testament verses where God commands Joshua to wipe out entire cites of the sons of Raphaim and Anak were there, because those cities were full of NEPHI[L]IM half human/half fallen angel giants. They ruled the earth before the Flood. After the flood 10% of the fallen angels were allowed to stay on earth(the rest were imprisoned in tartarus below the earth)they came back, bred with more humans and tried to inhabit and dominate the Holy Land.
The Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years because they were afraid to face them as God commanded them to.
God commanded Joshua to wipe out the serpent seed/Nephilim completely.

The Bible talks about how the fallen angels will be released from tartarus in the end days.

Surprisingly enough the Shia muslims believe that their Mahdi will be released from below the earth in the end days, he will rule the earth along with the muslim Jesus and convert the whole earth to islam by the sword.

This is not the first time young Olaf has proposed some, let us say "unorthodox", biblical archaeology...

The native Americans were descendants of Shem and some possibly of Japheth.

The people of india, even in some of their ancient books date their ancestory back to Shem.

Why am I not surprised that our resident saint advises someone "if you only read one book from the Bible, read the Apocalypse"?

The end undercuts the body. The main part of the film says is a tu quoque: "we are bad, but so are you". But the end subverts that and is, so to speak, a neque ego neque tu: "we're not bad [because of our bad book] and neither are you [because of yours]".

My thoughts as well. Plus, even the litte girl said her "war" was not physical, but spiritual. I agree though, that lady lays "war" on a bit thick with kids. They don't know the difference.

As disturbing as the woman with the children is, I'd like to point out two things: First, she's only one example. I can go to memritv.org and get dozens if not hundreds. Second, anybody else notice where she gets her inspiration (aside from Jesus)? That's right, Islam. She even says she wants her kids to fight for Jesus the way the Palestinian kids fight and die for Allah. So, I guess if the Muslims weren't setting the example, this woman would be just another fruitcake without a following.

As disturbing as the woman with the children is, I’d like to point out two things: First, she’s only one example. I can go to memritv.org and get dozens if not hundreds. Second, anybody else notice where she gets her inspiration (aside from Jesus)? That’s right, Islam. She even says she wants her kids to fight for Jesus the way the Palestinian kids fight and die for Allah. So, I guess if the Muslims weren’t setting the example, this woman would be just another fruitcake without a following.

My response to the igmorant person who made the above video.

First if you are going to qoute scripture 1) Be precise in location..is that I samuel Or II Samuel? (It is First Samuel 15:3. 2) Quote it in context as I do now -

1Sa 15:2
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.
1Sa 15:3
Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

God was telling King Saul to take his people and pay back the Amalakites for having attacked them (the Israelites first)..Kind of sounds like Israel and palestine today doesn't it?

Nu 31:17
Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
Nu 31:18
But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

De 20:16
But of the cities of these people, which the LORD thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth:

preceeded by

De 20:10
¶ When thou comest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it.
De 20:11
And it shall be, if it make thee answer of peace, and open unto thee, then it shall be, that all the people that is found therein shall be tributaries unto thee, and they shall serve thee.
NO CONVERSION or Killing if they answer peaceably Here, just tribute..more like the Mafia than terrorists!
De 20:12
And if it will make no peace with thee, but will make war against thee, then thou shalt besiege it:

And imagine this:
De 20:19
When thou shalt besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it, thou shalt not destroy the trees thereof by forcing an axe against them: for thou mayest eat of them, and thou shalt not cut them down (for the tree of the field is man's life) to employ them in the siege:
De 20:20
Only the trees which thou knowest that they be not trees for meat, thou shalt destroy and cut them down; and thou shalt build bulwarks against the city that maketh war with thee, until it be subdued.

GOD is at least partially an environmentalist...tress that were for food were not to be used in war!

Yeah but watch out for unusual shaped DVD's.

Aunursa,

I would encourage you to at least read the New Testament in order to know what you are refuting. Besides the fact that there are over 300 prophecies from your Bible fulfilled in Jesus Christ, I would highly recommend you read the Book of Revelations at the minimum.

Frankly, I could care less. Christians didn't fly planes into the twin towers, they don't kidnap foreigners with the intent of making them convert in order to be released, and they don't plead "please God, kill them all, don't leave even one of them." Christian leaders of Christian countries don't threaten to wipe other countries off the map, either. Imatotalslob doesn't threaten, some insist? Those are veiled threats coming from somebody that I believe took Americans hostage some years back. I trust him no more than the homosexuals in his own country.

The main point I was making was that the New Testament did not “repudiate” or abrogate the Old Testament. The two are not contra to one another. The New is a decoder book of sorts for the Old; it reveals the many mysteries outlined by the “Law and the Prophets.”

spmat on April 10, 2008 at 4:34 PM

The Koran and the BoM also claim to reveal many of the mysteries outlined in the Law and Prophets. That doesn't make their revelations concerning the HB authoritative.

Even if your argument is that he New Testament fixes this then what about the Jewish religion?
libertytexan on April 10, 2008 at 4:26 PM

Please list the instances in the past 2000 years in which Jews have attacked unarmed non-Jews because of their non-belief. Please list the instances in which Jews have cited the Hebrew Bible to support unprovoked violence against civilian Gentiles.

This should take you about .0000000000000000000001 second.

If you are not a Christian, then it is your prerogative to deny Luke 24:44.

I am not a Christian. It's not a matter of accepting or denying the author of Luke. It's a matter of accepting God's word when He says that the Hebrew Bible is eternal. If it's eternal, then it cannot be "fulfilled".

The big difference between Fitna and this silly bigoted propaganda from our enemy, Saudi Arabia, is that Christians couldn't care less what the idiot Muslims do, won't threaten anyone over it, won't kill anyone, won't riot in the streets, won't burn any buildings down, etc. That's because Christianity is a civilized religion, like the rest of the major religions, except for Islam, which is the religion of murderous barbarians.

Point 1. The guy that posted this is from Saudi Arabia. Frankly, who cares what anyone from Saudi Arabia thinks. See when they stop cutting people's heads off? Then maybe I'll give a shit.

Point 2. The soldiers beating up the Iraqi kids (who may well have deserved it- and note how the Iraqi kids' heads never left their bodies at any stage) were British. In Britain hardly anyone goes to church. It is widely believed that in a few years mosque attendance will outstrip church attendance. If you said to any of the liberal-left establishment that Britain is a Christian country they would immediately howl you down that no, it isn't, it is a secular state. The clear drift of all legislation from the UK government is away from Christian values (gay marriages, human-animal hybrid embryos, and so on). So why, when the UK is so clearly as far away from Christianity as it has ever been, does Christianity suddenly get the blame for the behaviour of British soldiers??
