Unbeknownst to me, he was the keynote speaker at a MLK celebration sponsored by the city. The event was supposed to be for kids. This idiot was politicizing everything. The kids were totally confused and perplexed at what he was saying. I was so pissed.

I did not hear anything that was remotely anti-semitic. But I wonder if it was only because he ran out of time.

I don’t think that’s what she said. She said Barak Obama could change this, but first he would have to take responsibility for sitting in that church for 20 years and never saying anything about it. – More like calling him on the carpet than pointing to him as savior.

Sure, let him resign and let a Democrat Governor nominate his successor.

Then we can have “conservatives” screech that McCain sold us out again, he wants more Democrats in the Senate.

Personally, I’d be happier if my two worthless Senators, Jim Webb and John Warner, did less in the Senate. Anything they’re for, I’m generally against anyway.

I’ve posted before about the historical reasons Jews vote Democratic so won’t repeat. But remember, this is the country where Jews assimilated and largely gave up their religious observance and former culture. To a large extent, they took that leap of faith and said America is different than Europe and Americans can be trusted. They wanted to fit in and no longer stand out. They wanted to be perceived as being good citizens by others. They wanted to be part of the larger community. Well, the Democrats still offer a communal identity, and the liberalism they espouse makes the person feel morally superior, because they care, and feel, and you can show everyone what a wonderfully tolerant and good person you are. You can even tolerate your sworn enemies. How much more wonderful can you be?

There’s something eerie about the similarities between today’s secular American jews who retain their loyalties to liberalism and the Democrats, and the German jews of the ’30’s who extolled their “Germanness.” Both were/are delusional. The majority of Am. jews will not wake up in time, but it’s not quite 100% anymore :)
