“McCain said ‘the Obama GIRLS!’ … PLURAL! There’s only ONE Obama GIRL! Sheesh! He doesn’t even know the difference between sunnis and shi’ites either!”
Is it just me, or can you also not wait to see he and Obama finally get to the real debate? This “niceness”, while theoretically ideal, will slowly erode and crumble as the debate moves forward. I say let’s get to it already.
beyond awkward. knowing McCain and his frat boy Senate posse, they’ve probably been ripping him for this all week. i could see grahmnesty and liebs breaking out into song on the campaign trail and McCain flipping out on them.
Between this and that Sunni/Shia softball, Kelly sure was bringing the tough questions today, huh?
Ack.
He will not resign from the Senate.
A Hint?
Indy Conservative on April 9, 2008 at 11:00 PM
Please! Three active Senators are running right now…and which one has showed up for the most votes? McCain. Obviously he’ll resign if when he’s elected POTUS, and the Gov. appoints a Republican in his place until the next elecion in 2010. If anything, staying on in his Senate seat shows a lot of character.
I thought Dole showed character by resigning from the Senate when he ran for Prez.
Tony737 on April 9, 2008 at 11:09 PM
I’m sorry to go O/T, but can you elaborate? Genuinely curious. What difference does it make? McCain stayed in 00 to run in 08, but message candidate Tancredo quits as did Hunter.
Follow-up question, legislators rarely get elected…so maybe they don’t want off the roulette wheel. What about legislators that quit to run, lose and then run for gubernatorial office (to possibly set up another run with exec experience)? Character or just avoiding the political dead-end? Dole didn’t run again, but his wife was certainly aided by his name in her election.
I’m actually really curious. I want to agree with you, but I think it means nothing.
I don’t normally disagree with Jet, but this time, I dunno. I thought Dole showed character by resigning from the Senate when he ran for Prez.
Tony737 on April 9, 2008 at 11:09 PM
Thing is, McCain was re-elected to the Senate by the people of Arizona. He has that job to do. Although I believe he’ll beat either Dem, and most certainly will be the next POTUS, nothing is written in stone just yet.
I mean, heck…the man won’t even take Secret Service protection. I don’t know how any Republican can’t like the guy.
It would’ve been better if he had said Obamagirl can make a video about him once he’s president, but it’s easy to say that on my comfy couch and not off the cuff.
He could have accused the info-babe for being sexist for asking how the McCain girls “stacked” up [air-quotes] against the [obviously buxom] Obama girl. He could gotten his back all up, a little high dudgeon, and then said, “Nah, I’m just spoofing. Just wanted to see what it felt like to be a Democrat.” Yo.
I heard him say “I have seen them, I have seen them, yes.” when the McCain Girls are first mentioned to him at the begining of the clip. When did he indicate that he had not heard of them???
Allah, are you going to permit this clearly racist post to remain un-deleted? Why, I’d say it is the NEW “ultimate hate bomb,” even WORSE than daring to utter Obama’s middle name, Hussein, er, Humperdinck, or whatever.

Being an America Hater, and demagoguing the deaths of brave soldiers for political gain is not pretty or hot by any standards.

“entertaining”. I guess that’s a word to describe it.

It is entertaining. If you don’t take it seriously, which Mac clearly doesn’t. Even worse, it’s catchy.

Good thing they axed Gibby then.

Even if the cut was in the wrong plce. I still agree with that cut: McCain should not be president, nor any of them.
We need new candidates.

Why would be resign anyway? Kerry didn’t even when top pollsters were predicting he would win the White House.

I agree. As long as he doesn’t miss any important votes (that AREN’T related to immigration, he can stay home for those), why should we care?

Clearly McCain girls need to spend less time in front of the camera and more time in the gym.
It is utterly absurd that public persona matters for the Presidency. The best President is probably the media-shy inellectual.

He didn’t say Obama Girls, he said Obama girl’s – he was talking about her videos. Apostrophes are important and often neglected and abused.

Did she ask, “How do they stack up?” Was that a way of asking if their feminine pulchritude, so to speak, is comparable?
