Video: The media’s anti-Hillary lowlight reel

In which I do my part as a good soldier in Operation Chaos to shame them into laying off our heroine ahead of Pennsylvania. This one’s circulating on the few pro-Hillary blogs left on the left; the tedious “Bitch” homage in the second half is stupid and useless but the first part’s effective for the tacit contrast it draws with Obama, both in terms of how very delicately the press treats him by comparison and how quickly his own camp is to call shenanigans on offenses much lighter than these (e.g., Clinton’s “fairy tale” comment). We can argue about whether the parameters of polite discourse are too wide or too narrow — I lean towards the latter — but when Her Majesty talks about “double standards,” for once she’s not blowing smoke.
Now join me, won’t you, in weeping big salty tears for progressives distraught at the thought of fellow liberals making feeble sexist remarks about henpeckish wives at Hillary’s expense while Michelle gets called a cunt on the Comedy Central website. What, no ping-pong jokes? Randi Rhodes redux: It’s not the nature of the insult that makes it “offensive” or not, it’s simply a question of whom it’s directed at.

Well, hell AP. We’ve known that for years.
I’m just happy to see liberals finally see how liberals party.
BacaDog on April 8, 2008 at 9:30 PM
I’m ticked because when the media dropped the water they’ve been carrying for the Clintons I wasn’t wearing boots.
Mortis on April 8, 2008 at 9:32 PM
The “c” word on HA?
Connie on April 8, 2008 at 9:32 PM
After watching that video, I feel like I’m incredibly sexist. Sigh.

The sad thing is the Hillary supporters will learn absolutely nothing from watching their candidate be treated like “evil Republican” for the past three-plus months by the media and far left websites.
If she does manage to get the nomination, or if she keeps her political careers going in the Senate with an eye on the 2012 election, all this talk about bias in the media will go right down the memory hole, if they need the media to attack someone to their right politically. So any thought of feeling sorry for the way she’s being treated is tinged with the idea that Hillary’s not upset with the process of bias, just with who the current victim happens to be.
jon1979 on April 8, 2008 at 9:39 PM
Exactly. Two weeks after she’s gone, they’ll forget all about the bias they’ve so recently discovered.
lorien1973 on April 8, 2008 at 9:43 PM
The new SURVEYUSA poll should bring a smile to her campaign.
SouthernGent on April 8, 2008 at 9:53 PM
While I agree with Op Chaos and letting the Dems blow themselves silly, I am glad Hillary is on the business end of the bias she has ridden for so long.
Of course, I expect she is irked only that the bias is against her, not for her. THAT bias is just fine, always will be. Hill is too passionate a narcissistic sociopath for the irony, and lesson, of the change in the wind direction to realize the horror she has helped create. Deamnding the media change is out of the question. Deamanding a new free pass is all she can think about and wants.
I do wish, though, she would drop out. The sooner Barry O gets under the microscope (maybe a proctoscope would be more fitting?) the better. Hillary is, IMO, delaying a good examination of Barry with all this drama. A good exam of Barry will expose many turds in that punchbowl, too many for some current supporters and more undecideds to sip further of his Kool-Aid.

Sucks being treated like a Republican huh Hill?
TheBigOldDog on April 8, 2008 at 9:58 PM
Ed and AP have both made the point of how inept Hillary’s campaign staff is. If she’d have listened to Bill and had Begala, Carville and Lanny brought on board, Obama would be suffering withering fire instead of ducking marshmallows.

I’m voting for her! Operation Chaos!

“Everyone’s first wife standing outside probate court” – ROTFL!!
“Take out the garbage!!!” – No $hit.

Hillary was a very pretty child. If this was anyone else, I would feel a twinge of sympathy. Sad that I don’t.
Sue on April 8, 2008 at 10:28 PM
It all comes around, for years she stiff armed, lied, cheated, stole, murdered…whatever it took to selfishly leech at the govt trough for personal gain. I don’t feel sorry for her, I take deep pleasure in watching her squirm and hurt from the pain. All the lives she wrecked so callously…I only wish she were younger so she could have a few more years of pain.

THis is an indictment on our depraved and craven media. Do you believe Chris Matthews crap!??And Olby!?Sheesh! I’ll vote for my neighbors dog before I’d vote for Hilary but these clips are despicable.
debi118 on April 8, 2008 at 11:01 PM
Actually, if you hit the lefty blogs it is amusing to see how they all now hate Hillary.
I like to point out the conservatives have know the Clintons were scumbags for decades, and congratulate them on finally seeing the light.
Usually at this point they either ban me, or their heads explode. The banninations are well worth the pop-pop-pop sounds I can hear coming all the way from Berkley and Cambridge though…

MmKay, I’ve been exceptionally self-disciplined with my criticism of McCain, senior citizen considerations and all that. Same applies to Clinton. Goodnight and farewell.
ps. Obama, you didn’t win this. Hillary lost it on her own demerits. Obama, I don’t think you can close a door behind you, much less close a deal with the American people.
RushBaby on April 8, 2008 at 11:21 PM
Geeze. That was rather well done actually – albeit a bit lengthy. In my opinion, Hillary is worse than the plague but I felt sorry for her when I watched that. Then I slapped myself in the face 10 times and I am better now.

I was only able to watch a few minutes, but I don’t see how this buttresses Hillary’s cause. A bunch of avowed partisans-even a generous view of Jack Cafferty wouldn’t desribe him as anything other than a quasi-senile crank-attacking someone who’s running for the presidency? Why should I feel sympathy for her now?
Gerard on April 9, 2008 at 12:53 AM
If that Angelou statement turns out to be true, there is hell to pay. Oh, the thought of that!
Entelechy on April 9, 2008 at 12:57 AM
When you actually look at the anti-Obama attacks though, it’s much more jarring. People in the media (Particularly on FOX though) have compared him to Hitler and Mao. He’s been called everything from an anti-Semite by Sean Hannity to the anti-Christ by Glenn Beck. Although the latter was said jokingly by Beck a similar joke by Beck about Hillary it made it into the highlight reel posted in the opening so I think it’s fair to bring it up here.
And then there are guys like Lou Dobbs who have a vendetta and use their hour long shows to attack the guy seemingly every night.
Typhonsentra on April 9, 2008 at 5:49 AM
I like the Lorena Bobbit comment – how apt.
All of this stuff is taken out of context anyway. There’s no way you can peddle the line that the media is totally in the tank for Obama.
Ares on April 9, 2008 at 6:08 AM
Generally, I would say that Obama has received far more favorable MSM press coverage than Hillary. The press has also been more willing to put the kabash on anti-Obama stories (e.g. the Wright story) than anti-Hillary stories. I agree the media is not “totally” in the tank for Obama, but they’re most of the way there.
I’m also absolutely convinced that the media WILL be in the tank for the DNC nominee and will begin bashing McCain full-time relatively soon. And that makes me sad, because while there’s a lot about McCain I don’t like, I’ve accepted he’s the GOP nominee and I also believe he’s substantially less harmful for this country than either Hillary or Obama.

All fans of Ms. Malkin have known for a long time how sexist the left wing is. What stuns me is that the herd mentality in the mass media means not one of them is taking their brethren to task for it with regard to these attacks on Sen. Hillary.
Am I sorry she’s the victim of a vast left-wing conspiracy? Ha!
doufree on April 9, 2008 at 11:23 AM
Wow…I was shocked that THAT word was actually used, then i remembered who’s post this is. Speaking the truth is an insult but using/repeating that unseemly word is ok. Such is the world of rough and tumble conservative blogs…
From a woman’s viewpoint, it’s worse than the n-word, but I’m not a black woman. After all, Maya Angelou says: words are things and we shouldn’t lower ourselves down to their level, even if the words reflect the truth. ;-O
