McCain just said on Fox that he wanted to make it clear by asking Petraeus that the actual AQ is still a problem, and that the fighters who are claiming to be AQ aren’t in reality just some of the various obscure Shia and Sunni groups of fighters.

He did not confuse Sunni with Shia.

Like I said yesterday, anybody who thinks Iran does not and will not support Sunni groups, and that Sunni groups would not accept the help, never studied the history of Afghanistan from the Soviet invasion on.
