Now those were junk. Yes, the “action” scenes in Star Trek were weak, but the prevailing paradigm was to not try and film intense action scenes for TV for two reasons: 1) The best cameras were reserved for movies, and those used for TV were not as able to capture such action with good resolution. 2) The quality and definition of TV broadcasts in the late 60’s wasn’t exactly HD, too much of a high-speed action scene would be lost, so they kept everything simple.

Can we have a Joel v. Mike debate instead? I go with Mike for these reasons, he’s not a namby pampy when it comes to trashing the movies (where as Joel’s attitude always seemed to be “come on guys, they tried really hard in making it” and insisted that they always find at least one good thing about the movie — even with Manos: the Hands of Fate), I think Joel spent most of his time stoned, Mike’s wit was more bighting and sarcastic, he describes his politics as “right of center” and he has a good looking wife.

Sorry, like I’ve said before it’s my only geek cred and even there I’m on the wrong side.

That episode was worse than Spock’s Brain, IMO. So bad, in fact, that it is not listed on the web site in any season. Well, since they also have Miri and a few other stinkers up there, it can’t be a quality issue. Perhaps it’s because all the ignorant locals have Arabic-sounding names and CBS is not in the mood for a fatwa.

Speaking of old shows being deposited online, those of you who still have your Mr. T lunchboxes will be happy to know that a few weeks ago I discovered that the entire series run of the A-Team was on NBC’s website.

I love the opening credits where Dirk Benedict (the original Lt. Starbuck) does a double take when he sees the guy in a Cylon costume at some theme park. Yeah, I love it when a plan comes together.

And yes for those of you wondering, I was a geeky kid that watched too much TV. I’m over it now. Grown. Married. 5 kids, who I am diligently teaching all this stuff to.

Well, aside from commercials, robustness, portability, and privacy concerns:

Damn Hulu did have entire season 1 of “24″ up but removed them. Now they went to season 6

I love being able to put a movie up in the corner of one screen while I work.

I’ll keep my TV for now, thanks.
