the show has a nightly bush segment? how sad.

lorien1973 on April 7, 2008 at 10:58 PM

If he did this for every mistake lie, the show would be divided right down the middle time-wise. Half lies, half “apologies.”

loganthompson on April 7, 2008 at 10:58 PM

Eat your words and the words of your bootlickers, you f-ing tool.

Good Lt on April 7, 2008 at 11:00 PM

He makes sure to say this statement was made while he wasn’t there, as to say he never makes any mistakes.

Rbastid on April 7, 2008 at 11:04 PM

I absolutely cannot stand that guy!

How in the hell can he have a nightly news show?
He is so in the tank for Obama it isn’t even funny.

His 12 11 viewers enjoy it immensely.

amerpundit on April 7, 2008 at 11:06 PM

Of course, if Olbermann had been there on Friday this mistake never would have gotten past his assiduous (ahem) fact checking standards.

And those are? E-mailing David Brock.

SteveMG on April 7, 2008 at 11:07 PM

Why do less than a million people watch this jerk?

Oh, right, because he’s a jerk.

winemkr on April 7, 2008 at 11:08 PM

“………. we apologize for our mistake.”

No you don’t, A*s-Clown!

Seven Percent Solution on April 7, 2008 at 11:09 PM

Rbastid on April 7, 2008 at 11:04 PM

I’ve seen him apologize for a mistake one other time and it also occurred on a night when he had a substitute – which he of course noted. I guess no one else is capable of living up to Olby’s high standards of journalistic integrity.

landshark on April 7, 2008 at 11:10 PM

The real mistake is putting this tool on tv.

Vote Sauron 08 on April 7, 2008 at 11:11 PM

We apologize for our mistake.

Ahhh, sweet dreams everyone. Olby has apologized WITHOUT simultaneously smearing his victim. This is a first. I’m guessing he only did this because of his sincere hatred for warzone contractors.

malan89 on April 7, 2008 at 11:12 PM

HA needs to invite him over. A guest spot with a daily post. He’ll last exactly one post with this crowd. HA could pay-per-view it and Allah could have all the i-Phones he wants.

Limerick on April 7, 2008 at 11:12 PM

This man is vermin

uptight on April 7, 2008 at 11:13 PM

So was he a 6-bit or an 8-bit security guard?

Shy Guy on April 7, 2008 at 11:13 PM

Never mind the mischaracterization of McHenry’s context and intent.

mikeyboss on April 7, 2008 at 11:18 PM

This latest example of Olbermann’s Blue Blog Sourcing f*ck ups leads me to point something out about this blog (and Michelle.) Allah, Ed and Michelle go OUT OF THEIR WAY to source material, show skepticism when needed and frequently offer alternative sources in there postings. Keith relies on Blue Blogs that simply don’t do that and as a result, frequently lies on a national TV program.

AYNBLAND on April 7, 2008 at 11:21 PM

Well it was quick but not painless. It hurts just to see the guy.

Oldnuke on April 7, 2008 at 11:25 PM

amerpundit on April 7, 2008 at 11:06 PM

Fast Eddie Rendell is one of his viewers….he even said that he loves Olberdork’s show.

bikermailman on April 7, 2008 at 11:30 PM

That only took a couple or days

F15Mech on April 7, 2008 at 11:34 PM

When you have the video of him resigning, or the transcript of his dismissal from MSNBC…or post a copy of his obituary, I’ll take a look.

Otherwise, thanks, but no thanks.

Asher on April 7, 2008 at 11:34 PM

Limerick on April 7, 2008 at 11:12 PM

Agreed…….. Since I’m sure he believes in all of his convictions, he would jump at the chance to respond to some civil criticism………

Seven Percent Solution on April 7, 2008 at 11:35 PM

I’m still waiting for Olbermann’s parents to apologize for their mistake.

You know, conceiving.

Knuckledragger on April 7, 2008 at 11:36 PM

at least he was sincere…..

Hog Wild on April 7, 2008 at 11:41 PM

That must have been the most painful thing he has ever done… Honesty is always more difficult than telling lies.

Claypigeon on April 7, 2008 at 11:50 PM

Seven Percent Solution on April 7, 2008 at 11:35 PM

Convictions in a liberal, Is that even possible?

BTW if you disagree with me I will insult you, call you a Nazi, and throw pies, all in the name of “peace love and good happiness stuff”

And while doing so I will not see a problem with it.

:)

F15Mech on April 7, 2008 at 11:52 PM

I thought Olby was the mistake Im sad to see that Mistake is still there

William Amos on April 7, 2008 at 11:59 PM

I used to think he was decent 15 yrs ago when he was the local Los Angeles sportscaster for CBS (or NBC). In sports, one doesn’t succeed when liberal idiotic politics are thrown into the mix. Sports doesn’t allow for his crap. How did he get so screwed up?

kyarnes on April 8, 2008 at 12:01 AM

So will everyone here boycott SNF? Too much to ask?

Limerick on April 8, 2008 at 12:03 AM

He said the bit about in his absence because he wasn’t the person who said it. It would have been retarded for him to say “Hey, last week, when I wasn;t here, I said…”

Then he says: “REPRESENTATIVE MCHENRY HAS APOLOGIZED FOR HIS CHARACTERIZATION OF THAT WORKER, WE APOLOGIZE FOR OUR MISTAKE”

How the fu** is that NOT an apology?

Dave Rywall on April 8, 2008 at 12:03 AM

F15Mech on April 7, 2008 at 11:52 PM

Oh, right, because he’s a jerk.

winemkr on April 7, 2008 at 11:08 PM

I made it a point to email NBC during football season and let them know that although I love football more then any other televised sport I’ve ever seen, I refused to watch their show simply because Olby Ol’biter was on the show! He’s such a putz!

Vntnrse on April 8, 2008 at 12:25 AM

How the fu** is that NOT an apology?

Dave Rywall on April 8, 2008 at 12:03 AM

Because you can see in the short clip, that the mere mention of the word “apologize” almost makes him choke.

It’s like someone who is looking at pictures of dead and burned bodies of children, and asked to smile on camera.

He is transparent………

Seven Percent Solution on April 8, 2008 at 12:29 AM

How did he get so screwed up?

kyarnes on April 8, 2008 at 12:01 AM

Rumors are he was attempting to tree-sit in a forest when another tree fell on him and still made no sound.

Rovin on April 8, 2008 at 12:29 AM

Wow, an apology? I must be dreaming…

Richard Romano on April 8, 2008 at 12:51 AM

So, he has to follow McHenry’s lead block for his own apology.

Lead with someone else’s apology, maximize their crime, make your error seem trivial and inconsequential in comparison, tag your own apology at the end.

At the end of his explanation, can anyone still remember what he asserted was MSNBC’s error? Nope. Steamrolled by the bit about McHenry.

TexasDan on April 8, 2008 at 12:55 AM

“I’m sorry no one else is as smart or perfect as me. Ignore the man behind the curtain…”

Nice.

Big Daddy Cool on April 8, 2008 at 12:59 AM

Why was that even in something called “The Bush Segment”?

On a related note… the “Bush segment”?

DaveS on April 8, 2008 at 12:59 AM

Where’s the STOCK FOOTAGE caption?

profitsbeard on April 8, 2008 at 1:20 AM

I would probably get kicked off HA if I typed what I was really thinking. This guy is the worst person in the world every day.

HawaiiLwyr on April 8, 2008 at 1:21 AM

When Gibby calls him Bathtub Boy, is he also alluding to the famous “tubgirl”? Do not google Tubgirl, it is not suitable for viewing by anyone. I was tricked into seeing it one time and I can’t get the image out of my head. Those that know it know what I mean.

TBinSTL on April 8, 2008 at 2:45 AM

Seixon on April 8, 2008 at 2:59 AM

Talking about two rivals.

It’s been four years.

Bill O’Reilly still hasn’t apologize for being a hypocrite-liar-sex maniac.

Wearing the mantel of virtue while having phone sex with his intern.

Who can blame Bill Clinton?

Only many of the hypocrite “religious” Right.

Indy Conservative on April 8, 2008 at 4:26 AM

Keith Olbermann blasted someone for calling a government contractor in Iraq a “two bit security guard”. During the very same show, Keith called government contractors in Iraq “mercenaries”. In addition to that, Keith is still an active member of Daily Kos. The very same Daily Kos that is run by a man whose first reaction to the news that government contractors in Iraq were murdered, burned, and hanged, was “screw them”. The very same man who has been a guest on Keith’s show.

Good Lt on April 7, 2008 at 11:00 PM

pretty much hits all the relevant points I think.

Olbermann is a joke. Just another ‘journalist’ more interested in reporting shock and not facts.

MannyT-vA on April 8, 2008 at 8:01 AM

I can’t even bring myself to watch him apologize.
I’ve heard so many blatant, partisan lies come from his mouth, that now whenever I hear his voice I get nauseous. It says very unhappy things about our country that he has a national bully pulpit to spew his poison from.

ANV on April 8, 2008 at 8:18 AM

This circus act puts the ‘O’ in obnoxious.

Thank goodness that smell-a-vision wasn’t invested. Imagine the bathroom odor oozing from NBC channels.

Limerick on April 8, 2008 at 12:03 AM

Already do. It’s hard to give up football, but it’s worth it just to not have to listen to that douche.

Mercutio on April 8, 2008 at 8:35 AM

I met a woman last summer in Seattle, a friend of a relative, that thought that “Keith Olberman is the true voice of American.”

I hurt myself stifling my laughter and puke at the same time.

Respect for the Olberdouche is an instant disqualifier.

rockbend on April 8, 2008 at 8:38 AM

So when Bush leaves the White House, will Olberdunce leave the airwaves? Didn’t think so.

RickZ on April 8, 2008 at 8:38 AM

Keith Olbermann: Literally dreadful.

ZK on April 8, 2008 at 9:19 AM

Isn’t this another one of those clowns, who blasts Bush for acting on false information?

“Gee…If I only knew then, what I know now.”

franksalterego on April 8, 2008 at 9:57 AM

If Olby tells a lie, in a forest of lies, and no one is listening is it still a lie?

winemkr on April 7, 2008 at 11:08 PM

No that can’t be it. O”Reilly is a jerk and has lots of viewers. Lots of jerks on talk radio and TV with lots of listeners and viewers. Must have something to do with content.

Oldnuke on April 8, 2008 at 10:02 AM

Olbergoebbels is doing as good a job for George Soros as the real Josef Goebbels did for Hitler..Slimy progressive/socialist/fascist Nazis…..Why hasn’t this scumbag been to Iraq yet? Because the troops would frag him and blame it on Al-Queda, that’s why. Everyone knows this guy is America hater #1….

My God! All 11 viewers work at my school! What are the chances?

Tim Burton on April 8, 2008 at 10:20 AM

Well, that left me speechless. He actually admitted that he was wrong. Kudos, I guess. One question though, during the whole Imus dust up didn’t Olbermann claim that he only let “African Americans” fill in for him? That weren’t no African American in the previous clip.

srhoades on April 8, 2008 at 10:58 AM

The failed, ESPN jock-sniffer has a psychiatric problem.

You can hear it in his commentary, and you can see it in his histrionics.

You think He’s bad you should check out Chrissie Matthews…

MSNBC’s “Hardball” anchor Chris Matthews recently gushed, “He [Obama] seems to have the answers. This is the New Testament.”

Obamessiah the anti-Christ who denies Christ is the only way to salvation. He even recently claimed his muslim mother was in heaven.
