As usual the NYT is totally irresponsible. Putting that entire marine unit in extra danger to run a story that should not have been run is just what you expect from them.

Meanwhile, scores of Iranian snipers head west to take out L/C McCain.

We're fighting an enemy that would sacrifice anyone of their comrades in order to kill the son of a future president that wants to remain and fight their tyranny.

The Liberals ignore these type of stories when reality flies in the face of their limited opinions on the subject. Serving your country, honor and duty are concepts of total disconnect for them. The Liberal talking heads would probably paint this honorable Marine with the same 'lame brain' paint brush they do the President.

I am not sure what value the NYT sees in this story.

But I do think that Sen. McCain showed some class so more credit to him.

To protect Lance Corporal McCain in case he is again deployed to a war zone, The New York Times is not publishing recent photographs of him and has withheld some details of his service). …

How kind of them to do that, maybe they should get a Nobel Prize for it. /sarc

Alright, a crazy left-winger here thinks the newspaper shouldn't think too much about what kinda campaign a specific politicians wants to run. If it's newsworthy, let them print it. If McCain Jr becomes a bullet magnet, he should be pulled out of Iraq. Representative democracy isn't entirely free. Including for the son.

As for Bush's daughters etc. Clearly they shouldn't enlist. That's insane. Much like what's his name of the British Royal family shouldn't have gone to Iraq. They are in a unique position. Demanding that they be like the common folks is ridiculous. They aren't. Their Dad/Mom/Granny is the leader of your country. Part of it trickles down to the relatives. Get over it.

However, their behavior should be consistent with the Dad's message. Same applies to Romney's sons btw. We're either in the middle of an existential struggle, or we aren't. If we are, own it. This "war is hell man, pass me another burger" bs isn't gonna fly. If by looking at your kids I can't tell we're at war, I'm well within my right to draw conclusions about your sincerity.

I just hope that if John McCain wins, he surrounds himself with the right people and doesn’t appoint a whole cabinet full of cronies and jackals like Bush did.

John on April 6, 2008 at 12:36 PM

Yes, and while he's at it, he should take out the left over Clinton trash (especially in the State Department) that Bush has left rotting in the waste baskets for eight years.

Kid, your dad is a U.S. Senator.
Kid, your dad has bucks.
Kid, whatchathinkyurdoin?

Good kid. Lance Corporal. Right there with the rest. Sweating. Freezing. Digging the dirt out of his ears. Stirring the honeypot when it is his turn. Oh yeah, and lead lives in the air sometimes.

Like I said. Good kid.

Now leave him be.

Over the last few years, anti-war activists have picked up on Moore’s theme of a lack of familial sacrifice from the nation’s leaders

I'm sorry. Can someone please help me find some information on the military service record of the Bloated Socialist.

I'm sure he served with distinction, I just can't seem to find anything. I'll keep looking.

Well, being on Hot Air is a never ending and a continuos
education.I didn't know John McCain's son was in Irag.

And for a Presidential election it is interesting to note
that I never heard of McCain mention his son in Irag,in
contrast to Hillarys daughter being in the news fairly
steady!

This Jimmy McCain. Someone to watch. Digging a truck out of the mud in Iraq while monitoring his Dad's political progress in NH? Enlisting rather than entering the elite officer corp? This sounds like a true Maverick. Stories of young Men like this and what with the recent story of Prince Harry, starts to give one hope for the future. There's simply too darned few young Men like these. Lance Cpl McCain's Dad must well up with pride every time he thinks of his valiant son. Our prayers must be frequent for young men like Jimmy McCain. DD

I just hope that if John McCain wins, he surrounds himself with the right people and doesn’t appoint a whole cabinet full of cronies and jackals like Bush did.

Compared to the metrosexual Obama, everything about McCain is looking better and better.

(That 37 in bowling is going to haunt Barry O. till the day he dies.)

Once again NYT exposes itself as nothing more than a patison gossip rag. This rag should never be read, referred to and cerainly never purchase. It is a useless and unreliable source of information, and unless it does a complete turnaround, it should be allowed to fall by the wayside.

Another aspect of McCain’s character that’s escaping the limelight–click on my username, then scroll down to “Senator’s Surprising Soft Side.”

I liked your blog post but I think the comparison to Truman misses the point. Aside from some anti-semitic scribblings in his diary Truman lost his temper for understandable reasons whereas McCain seems to fly off the handle for irrational reasons i.e. the 'bigotry' of 'nativist' Americans.

While it may paint McCain in a better light, the Senator obviously doesn't want to run for office on the back of his son.

Compare Her Majesty... running on the back of her daughter?
