The fact that the Clintons made a bundle of money does not bother me. It's the fact that they are pretending to have released everything (like John Kerry's military records) when they have not.

Like this from the Times:

The lack of clarity is because the Clintons released only a summary of their 2007 income, which lists $2.7 million in partnership income but does not identify sources. Based on previous years’ returns, it is likely that income came from Yucaipa.

As a CPA I took a little time out to review the Clinton returns. Some interesting nuggets:

1.	The loving couple lives in 2 separate households. If you take a look at their forms 8829 from 2002 to 2003 you will see her house (and land) cost $2,888k and his $1,740k. The total square footage is also different. They even have separate housing related costs like insurance, cleaning, utilities, etc. Further, stated on their 2006 return is the fact that their combined mortgages are $3,279k. It sure looks like they are still maintain separate households.

2.	Why did they buy and sell a $500k condo in 2003/2004? It seems odd that they only held onto this NY unit for 7 months.

3.	Schedule E page 2 is missing from their 2000 return (while Bill was still President). It should have been filed to indicate what K-1 entity gave them the $130,518 gain. Are these more cattle futures?

4.	It would be interesting to know which entities paid wages to him or her in 2003 of $655,942 (includes her salary as Senator of around $150k).

5.	Hillary has paid almost $1 million dollars in “Collaboration fees and expenses” for the past 7 years from her “Author” income. In fact, in 2006 she paid $124,259 or 22% of her Author income in Collaboration. How much of that book did she really write?

6.	The WHOPPER of all is the income and guaranteed payments coming out of Yucaipa Global Holdings. What did someone get for $12,000,000?

I recall that after Gerald Ford left office he was criticized for making paid speeches. That a president would use his term of office for personal gain was considered demeaning to the presidency. Now we have Bill not only making Gerald Ford look like the epitome of decorum, he's involved as a rainmaker for a private investment group, peddling his influence like some common politician. Oh... wait... he is a common politician! Never mind.

I’d like to have an amendment to the constitution that requires that all elected an politically appointed office holders must file their own taxes without outside assistance of any kind. Can’t even ask a friend for a hint. Any such person who could not do this or fails to file on time must immediately be removed from public office and may never hold such an office again. Either the tax code would be reduced to a post card, next week, or we could laugh ourselves silly watching our elected officials bob and weave.

It would take all the fun out of politics to be ruled by accountants.

Here's what the new Clintonian Income Tax Form would look like:

Enter your total income for the year on line 1.

I don’t watch television; don’t have it; don’t want it. I’ve been taken by surprise at the reactions of people upon discovering this. Most consider it an odd curiosity and even some file it under “downright suspicious”.

Saltysam - I pulled the plug on my TV two years ago. It was like breaking a heroine addiction (not that I have had any experience). I now seek out information from a lot of sources now and feel better educated that most of my friends that stare at the tube all day. I actually feel better connected with the world now. Quadrupled my reading time. Lost about 25 pounds because I don't go home after work everyday and park my ass in the recliner. And I no longer have the fear of dying quietly one evening with the remote control clutched in my hand.

I'd be happy if I just didn't have to pay so much...professional income, single, no dependents, don't own a house, very little to deduct...I take it in the shorts every year.

I'm sure the Clintons feel my pain, though.

"I’d prefer that he continue to exploit that earning potential rather than have them return to the White House."
That's a reasonable preference, however, it would be much more fun having them go broke trying to keep all the most damaging stories of their illustrious career from coming out of the mouths of the victims. At the very least HRC could pay her employees, including benies, and obviously, if she wants to be Prez and she can't get her taxes aren't in order, how can she get anything else done as POTUS?

sorry, but I would like to know how much of those appearances are paid for by Oil money from outside the US.

NO single speech is worth millions of dollars, especialy by an EX President. At that level its either a Pay Back, or a Pay off… and if some of that money is then used for Hillarys campaign????

I mean, come on… paying millions of dollars to hear the Spouse of a sitting Senator who is probably going to run for President?
Hmmm… any way we can get a gander at Elder Bush’s or Carters speaking fee revenue?

Romeo13 on April 5, 2008 at 10:56 AM

I agree, that's an outrageous amount for a speech, I'd be interested to know where that $$ is coming from as well.

Vntnrse:

Well, I said my wife believes it; I didn't say I did. BUT, since you mentioned it, I don't know why people think the A-C is a Muslim... Islam wasn't invented at the time Revelation was written, and there is no mention of Islam in the New Test, so I don't believe these pulpit know-it-alls who claim this to be true. It's just scare-mongering. I WILL SAY that I've always thought it odd that Christians assume that the A-C will be male. If satan really wants to confuse us, and offer us an A-C who is truly the opposite of Christ, Son of God, then why NOT send a woman? The A-C is supposed to take us all by surprise. A female would certainly do that.

Funny thing, also, that you mentioned Hill as VP and assasination, etc... Another theory my wife has is that Hill will try to get the Veep slot so that she can use it to jockey herself into the Presidency by creating a scandal that Obama can't recover from, then run for reelection in 2012. We think BHO understands this as well, which is why he won't choose her, regardless of the pressure to do so from the Clintonistas.

Well, I said my wife believes it; I didn’t say I did. BUT, since you mentioned it, I don’t know why people think the A-C is a Muslim… Islam wasn’t invented at the time Revelation was written, and there is no mention of Islam in the New Test, so I don’t believe these pulpit know-it-alls who claim this to be true. It’s just scare-mongering. I WILL SAY that I’ve always thought it odd that Christians assume that the A-C will be male. If satan really wants to confuse us, and offer us an A-C who is truly the opposite of Christ, Son of God, then why NOT send a woman? The A-C is supposed to take us all by surprise. A female would certainly do that.

Funny thing, also, that you mentioned Hill as VP and assasination, etc… Another theory my wife has is that Hill will try to get the Veep slot so that she can use it to jockey herself into the Presidency by creating a scandal that Obama can’t recover from, then run for reelection in 2012. We think BHO understands this as well, which is why he won’t choose her, regardless of the pressure to do so from the Clintonistas.

Almost all of Clintons' charitable contributions went to his own foundation?

Is this a trick Clintons learned from Gore, or Gore from Clintons? Smoke and mirrors.

Al Gore defends his extraordinary personal energy usage by telling critics he maintains a "carbon neutral" lifestyle by buying "carbon offsets," but the company that receives his payments turns out to be partly owned and chaired by the former vice president himself.

I would like to know how many jobs the Clinton's have created since 2000? That seems to be the new obligation of the wealthy. With the wealth of the Clinton's, or say the Gore's, I am sure they have been leading by example. I think we all realize that starting a new business is not about making a living, or even God forbid a profit, but to provide the little people with jobs. The libs are lucky, if I was a rich man, I would not worry about providing jobs. They could find my money in investments, and savings. They could find me in a tropical location, drinking vitamin C, and Vodka, while hanging out with the ladies.

So with that $109 million dollars, do you think they're struggling to make ends meet, like the Obamas on their paltry $1.7m?

Or maybe they don't have to worry about childcare anymore, so no, they have no problems.

And they wonder why us little folks think of politicians as the modern ruling class.

My own wife refers to Hill as the Anti-Christ…

The anti-christ will be a man, in his 40s, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal....the prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, will destroy everything. Is it OBAMA??

This is currently circulating the net, too.

Now according to Revelations, the anti-christ must suffer a deadly head injury, but return to life much like the way Jesus did. I suppose if he did choose Hill as his running mate, and she did try to have him assasinated as I suspect that she would....I suppose it's highly possible, eh?

What say you HA gang??? :)

Aw, rich Democrats are so human! Why don't they just buy health insurance for all the uninsured Americans instead of sheltering their income in the "foundation"?

I have the feeling they'll be getting lots more requests for interest free loans after this.

Yeah, the extension is no big deal....lots of people do it...

But I wonder why everyone made such a big deal about them being transparent....them going 'Sure...NO PROBLEM'!....and then them going 'Oh, by the way, when we do get around to telling you all about it, We'll either be well on the way engineering the downfall of this country or REALLY hoping the people of New York weren't paying attention during the presidential campaign so we can keep our sorry cracked asses in national politics.
