Video: Hillary dodges sniper fire to get to Leno

The video that launched a thousand e-mails has arrived at Hot Air — and yes, Hillary Clinton’s explanation is still exceedingly lame. Only the first couple of minutes will be of interest, but pay attention to a couple of points she tosses into the mix while explaining away the Tuzla Dash. She’s visited 80 nations while representing her country — including many war zones?
First, she still wants to sell this as a bad moment caused by sleep deprivation. She’s told this Tuzla Dash story on at least four occasions, as far back as December. When one of her companions on the trip recalled it differently, she publicly ridiculed him for it and produced a supposed eyewitness to the dangerous landing and run to the building. Only after video and pictures of it appeared did she back away from the story.
So let’s ask Hillary this: what other war zones did she visit as First Lady? And did she take 15-year-old Chelsea to those as well?

Didn’t Bill Richardson take her once to a taco stand in a dangerous neighborhood?
JiangxiDad on April 4, 2008 at 9:06 AM
If this woman wants to continue pushing this lie, I say let her. I hope she goes on every TV show in existence and continue to expose herself as an empty suit filled with lies and empty rhetoric.
Hillary is obviously of the belief that if you tell the same lie long enough, the American people will eventually believe it. Problem for her is the MSM isn’t helping her with her attempted brainwash. Problem for her is the MSM for the most part, is firmly in Obama’s camp and pushing his brainwash.
Keemo on April 4, 2008 at 9:08 AM
The really sick part of this is that she really believes she can sell this crap to the mindless masses. Hillary is fun to watch but never forget that she is extremely dangerous.

Hey Ed, the front page format is goofy. It appears that everything is formated on the left side and the middle is empty.
natesnake on April 4, 2008 at 9:22 AM
She wants to say she’s been to war zones because I can’t recall her going to Iraq. . . even though she’s got that whole ‘willing suspension of disbelief’ when a person who lives there tells her what’s going on. Johnny Mac just got back from his 8th trip there since fighting started. Hillary knows it is a weakness of hers so she’s playing up her ‘warzone’ experience.
ThackerAgency on April 4, 2008 at 9:24 AM
Thanks for posting. She is a shamless liar, and she’s also now shown her callous indifference to those who were rightfully offended by the comment. Here is a great article turning the screws on Hill for the sniper fire lie. Despite everything I know about her, I still can’t believe she’s making jokes about it.

Hils broke the Pinocchio meter with this one.
William Kristol (on FNC this morning) predicts she’ll quit the race if she doesn’t win big in PA. Sure hope he’s wrong.

That bit about the minimum wage is pretty hilarious. It’s called “economics” Hildebeast.
ggoofer on April 4, 2008 at 9:29 AM
in the immortal words of George Costanza, ‘It’s not lying if you believe it!’
As for the Hillster, whatever she says at that time, is the truth for her. And Bill too…
what was said in the past shouldn’t matter (God Bless the internet)
just think if the MSM did their job and hold her foot to the fire over this and other
liesremarks she has said..DaveC on April 4, 2008 at 9:32 AM
Does anyone else remember candidate Al Gore’s incessant resume-padding & bragging of nonexistent accomplishments? Hillary’s bad, but not as bad as Goracle was.
jgapinoy on April 4, 2008 at 9:34 AM
no sense of urgency? How about a 150 billion dollar ’stimulus package’? How about a 30 billion dollar bail out for Bear Stearns overnight? How about a reduction in Federal Reserve interest rates 3% in a couple of months? I wish they would slow down spending our money.
These people need to speak with people from the other side and maybe they will be able to hone a better argument.
She mentioned the mother who has minimum wage (that did go up), but since it went up her hours were cut so she isn’t making as much money. That’s specifically an argument to not raise minimum wage.
And then their talking about education. . . EDUCATION IS A STATE LEVEL GOVERNMENT FUNCTION. Those people in DC need to realize that the federal government is not responsible for education.
They are just so wrong, and it is amazing to me that they don’t even recognize it when they are obviously wrong and issuing their own reasoning why they are wrong when they speak. And none of the ‘hard hitting journalists’ ever call them out on it.

She’s such a dork.

Reminds me of the scene in The Blues Brothers when Elwood tells Jake
“It wasn’t a lie. It was just…bullshit.”

Keemo:
“…empty suit filled with lies and empty rhetoric.”
Is this like the old teaser trick: “How much dirt is in a hole 2′ x 2′ x 2′ deep?
Just playin’ around Keemo-sabe.

An insult to dorks everywhere!
Swinehound on April 4, 2008 at 9:54 AM
This either shows her stupidity or her insanity. Why go on with this?? She mentioned a few months back how she was going to clean the Oval office once she got in the White House, going to “lift up the carpet and see what’s underneath.” All it did was remind people of the blue stained dress and the jokes about what what stains might be on the carpet.
JellyToast on April 4, 2008 at 9:58 AM
Wow, I love her economic program, more jobs for lazy low-skilled high school dropouts!
JamesB on April 4, 2008 at 10:14 AM
It won’t matter which Dem gets the nod as presidential candidate. The National Education Association is in the tank for the party because (to them)there is never enough money to satisfy its bloated demands.
Madame Hillary! demonstrates her Central Planning mindset in grabbing those pre-kindergarteners and pre-schoolers with her re-education camps. She and her Marxist buddies would have the State rather than its families raise children in order to secure a top-down economy. (This, from a person who cannot even manage her campaign finances effectively?)
Her snark at No Child Left Behind (which intended to attach measurable academic accountability to federal funds) was a snipe at both Bush (of course, because she still thinks he is her opponent in the race) and Kennedy (who had the “audacity” to publicly declare support for N’Obama).
Besides, as was pointed out, education is a local and state issue. The solutions should be bottom up. Most school failure and dropout rates are occurring in urban areas, unfortuately governed by ineffectual, corrupt, and bloated bureaucracies.
The anecdote about the minimum wage mom is beyond ludicrous. When raising the minimum wage was being debated, those familiar with how the economy works warned that jobs would be lost, hours would be cut back, and the young and unskilled would be hurt the most.
The whole Dem platform is a perpetual-motion maching of creating government neediness. History has proven that Dem “solutions” have unintended consequences far worse than the original problem.

It was a CheChe moment. Obviously we can figure out that it’s totally made up. But because it “feels” true, it obviously IS true in every way that matters.
Laura on April 4, 2008 at 10:32 AM
I’ve noticed she’s starting to taking more swipes at Republicans and Bush. I’m guessing she’s going to start talking more and more like John Edwards. How did John Edwards class-ware stump speeches work out for him?
terryannonline on April 4, 2008 at 10:50 AM
She cares and thinks we can do better. Liberals show empathy and people think that’s good enough?
MT on April 4, 2008 at 10:51 AM
You know I just thought of something. If Bosnia was such a ‘war zone’ why didn’t her husband authorize the wearing of combat patches and Combat Infantryman Badges (CIB’s, only for the Infantry of course) for the soldiers that deployed there. It was before my time but I don’t recall anyone getting anything like that.
I did a very short tour in Kosovo in June of 2000 with the 1/508th. We weren’t authorized to wear anything after our time there.
JasonG on April 4, 2008 at 10:52 AM
Whoops. Just remembered that I was in Kosovo during June of 2001, not 2000.
Carry on.
JasonG on April 4, 2008 at 11:00 AM
She’s a shameless disgrace.
dogsoldier on April 4, 2008 at 11:37 AM
I have a thought about the drop out rate that both Jay and Clinton mentioned. Is the rate increase due to the “no child left behind” goal of not advancing (passing to the next grade) some one who can’t do the work? If those who will not learn see themselves spending several years in say grade 11 or 12, then maybe they just cut their losses and drop out.
kopio on April 4, 2008 at 11:48 AM
That’s one of their modus operandi, to laugh it off.
And that’s a cause for rebuke of our fellow citizens, to let them.
.
(By the way, yes modus is the plural of modus: it’s a 4th-declension noun…)

Umm, what the heck is this?
Has Hillary ever said the private sector can do anything? Because the private sector has pretty much created, funded, and continues to support trade schools that are absolutely vital to the American Economy. Trade schools are churning out high tech graduates for the IT sector. They’re churning out grads for the automotive industry, the electrical industry, the nursing industry, etc. Most of these schools aren’t colleges. That’s good. College isn’t for everyone. Many people learn through hands on training. Read some studies Senator Clinton.
The primary reason for my dislike of Hillary Clinton is that she refuses to credit the private sector for anything it has done. I mean nothing. She just doesn’t compliment the private sector in doing anything because there is no way to connect their success with her political aspirations or her party’s.
“May God damn” the elected officials that choose to be deaf, dumb, and blind.
gabriel sutherland on April 4, 2008 at 12:16 PM
We already have plenty of jobs for high school dropouts. That is why we have the illegal immigration problem. It’s the lazy part that is the problem and all of the lib’s social programs are keeping them that way.
brtex on April 4, 2008 at 12:20 PM
Hmmm…Rwanda?
Oh, never mind. Her husband barely even went there.
Brat on April 4, 2008 at 12:48 PM
Whatssa matter – don’t you people have a sense of humor?
Anyone who didn’t laugh at her hilarious joke about being under sniper fire is obviously a humorless prig. And that, as we all know, is the WORST THING IN THE WORLD to be.
This comes from a book “written” by one devil to another on how to drag people to Hell (poetically appropriate? I report, you decide):

Oh that’s what it was. Because I thought she was just lying.
What a weasel.

Dorks, the world over, are indignant, Spirit of 1776.
Hillary “Ed, I remind you, sternly”
- WH Clinton picture revealing ceremony
- 9/11 memorial gatherings, at which ‘chimpy’ spoke
- Ronald Reagan funeral, where this “setting us back” president spoke, again.
- the past 4-5 State of the Union speeches by “the worst president, ever”
…to name just a few.

Much like her wartime counterpart, Patton, Hillary has lived before. Many lives, many wars and many stories. Her and Chelsea (don’t ask don’t tell) Clinton, have risked their necks on the plains of Carthage, the hill at Hastings, Waterloo, Bull Run, Bastogne, Guadalcanal, Gamma 5 Revolt and many other war zones. Some that don’t even exist in this dimension.
If she gets a little sleepy and confuses the details, like being attacked by a Tiger tank, it happens to all of us.

Jay says “Sure” most of the time. lame

How long can you call yourself a Democrat and support such idiocy?
Every time she tells a lie the audience cheers!? Are these people that stupid or is there truth to the phrase “blind faith”? Honestly, I think even Forest Gump could see right through her.
I. Just. Don’t. Get it.

Someone needs to do a parody (perhaps Paul Shanklin?) of the “Tuzla Dance” to the “Safety Dance.”
