Terrorists wanted to take their babies on the jihad

This will come as a shock, but radical Islamist terrorists have few limits. According to testimony in the London trial of al-Qaeda jihadists, at least one of them wanted to take along his wife and baby on their suicide mission in order to get past security. That suggestion got nixed by his wife, who nevertheless seems to have had no problem in killing other children:

As police listened in on the men using a hidden bug, they heard Umar Islam and Abdulla Ahmed Ali discuss a train bombing in which one participant wanted to take his child.

Ali said: “That’s why he wanted to take his kid on the train with him – shake them up.”

Peter Wright QC, prosecuting, said Islam said his wife may join the plot if it was a “significant operation”.

Ali was overheard considering taking his child but said his wife “would not agree to it”.

The terrorists had drawn up quite a list of targets. They wanted to hit a gas pipeline between the UK and Belgium, nuclear power plants, the National Grid, companies that produce hydrogen peroxide, and Heathrow itself. The devastation they would have wrought would have killed tens of thousands and left portions of Britain uninhabitable. They studied the Chernobyl disaster to see how they could replicate it themselves.

“We love to die in the path of Allah,” the terrorists claimed in a recording meant to be found after their deaths. If they didn’t insist on taking others with them, we wouldn’t mind. The sad fact is that we care more for their babies than the terrorists themselves do.

If Bin-Laden would have promised 70 male virgins to female suicide bombers, she would have agreed to the plan.

Funny, I never see a “leader” go on one of these missions…

The UK is such a Shakespearean tragedy. I wish they’d find their fire. I know it’s there.

As for me, I don’t so much love the terrorists’ kids as I hate the terrorist.

As Churchill said, Britain’s already had their finest hour. It’s downhill from now on.

Assuming these nuts get jailed for life, “human rights” advocates in the UK and the Guardian newspaper no doubt will insist that their innocent children be placed with other militant Islamist families.

Funny. They don’t look like terrorists.

“The sad fact is that we care more for their babies than the terrorists themselves do.”

Sure, but that is because we are sane and respect some of a secular, earthly life. To them, they truly believe they would be sending the babies directly to Allah to live in paradise for all of eternity.

We are dealing with a sick, sick, ideology, and I dare say it, a sick strain of a somewhat sick religion.

Wasn’t there something similar with the liquid explosives on the plane plot? I thought a baby was involved there, too.

Doesn’t have to do with secular lifestyle. Observant christians, jews and others don’t do this.

Ali was overheard considering taking his child but said his wife “would not agree to it”.

You mean the woman won out over the man? Of course, she agreed to her hubby blowing himself up without the kid…

The sad fact is that we care more for their babies than the terrorists themselves do.

Not me. If I was in charge, this whole thing would have been over already and not one U.S. soldier would have had to set foot on foreign soil.

Metro on April 4, 2008 at 1:17 PM

I bet that, at least, 6 out of the 8 would be able to board the same plane, without any problems.

After all, we wouldn’t want to appear politically incorrect. Would we?

OhEssYouCowboys on April 4, 2008 at 1:18 PM

Well gee, if the nutcase winds up blowing himself as well as his wife and kid into next Tuesday, when he arrives in Paradise, how is he going to explain all those nubile young virgins to the Mrs.?

Funny stuff aside, goofs like this, I have a very hard time calling men, much less human.

pilamaye on April 4, 2008 at 1:18 PM

These people are psychopaths.

Geronimo on April 4, 2008 at 1:20 PM

Tanvir Hussain, Assad Sarwar, Umar Islam, Waheed Zaman, Mohammed Gulzar, Arafat Waheed Khan, Ibrahim Savant, and Abdulla Ahmed Ali.

These men are straight from central casting. They’re living cliches. These men are so stereotypical that a film or tv show couldn’t have villains like this. The production would be labelled ‘racists’ immediately.

They’re clear not British, no matter what anyone says. How Britain can tolerate this is beyond me.

Vote Sauron 08 on April 4, 2008 at 1:22 PM

According to the article, one of the terrorists “condemned the British public for ’showing more care and concern for animals than you do for the Muslim Ummah’.”

Indeed. But then, most animals conform to a higher standard of morality, in that they will actually protect their young from harm. So, in that respect, most animals are actually closer to human than these sterling representatives of the Muslim Ummah, and are therefore entitled to more care and concern.

morganfrost on April 4, 2008 at 1:29 PM

left portions of Britain uninhabitable

These guys plans don’t need hyperbole and this line is over the top.

They had grand, murderous plans and could have killed people but as far as I understand it the chanes of their liquid bombs actually going off were very slim.

VeniVidiVidic on April 4, 2008 at 1:32 PM

Sick bastards!

Winebabe on April 4, 2008 at 1:37 PM

Isn’t it funny how in the photos of these muslim scumbags, none of them appears to be a nun, a white grandmother or a 10 year-old kid? Ya think there might be something to this profiling business after all?

Then I guess you have a problem with the Anglican Bishop of Rochester, Dr. Michael Nazir-Ali. Nazir-Ali is a Pakistani-born convert from Islam who’s recently been notably outspoken on Islam and made statement similar to Ed’s.

I quote Nazir-Ali:

“There has been a worldwide resurgence of the ideology of Islamic extremism. One of the results of this has been to further alienate the young from the nation in which they were growing up and also to turn already separate communities into ‘no-go’ areas where adherence to this ideology has become a mark of acceptability.”

This was in relation to the UK, obviously…because here’s the introductory paragraph in the article from London’s Sunday Telegraph dated January 6th, 2008 that preceded Nazir-Ali’s comment above:

Michael Nazir-Ali, the bishop of Rochester, told the newspaper that Britain’s policies of multiculturalism have created separate Muslim communities that fail to integrate into mainstream society.

So, the question remains…if you think Ed’s comment is over the line, do you think Nazir-Ali’s is as well? I would really like to know, because I find Nazir-Ali’s comment to be quite within the bounds of reason, given his knowledge of Islam and the UK.

Why would this be shocking? News stories like this are rountine.

You mean the woman won out over the man? Of course, she agreed to her hubby blowing himself up without the kid…

JetBoy on April 4, 2008 at 1:13 PM

Well…not making a comment on Muslim men in general, but if a husband’s willing to blow up her and the kids, and/or be a terrorist in the first place, he likely wasn’t above beating her, etc. Not to mention hurting the kids as well, probably physically as well as verbally.

If I were a religious Muslim woman stuck in a marriage with a man like that I wouldn’t object much to him blowing himself up either. No more abuse, no more danger from him to me or the kids, and I wouldn’t have to answer to Allah for getting rid of him myself… And family will take care of a widowed woman in that culture. What’s the downside?

inviolet on April 4, 2008 at 4:07 PM

Who are we to judge? All cultures are equal.

They told me so in college.

BowHuntingTexas on April 4, 2008 at 5:10 PM

And yet, it’s not the religion. It’s the misinterpretation, you see.

You know what bothers me the most? When they say “We love death the way you love life,” and think that that’s a GOOD thing.

Meryl Yourish on April 4, 2008 at 5:20 PM

Is this some kinda “Take Your Kid To The Jihad” day so they can see what it’s like? Except they’re dead at the end of it.

Lets see if we can do this delicately,if the Jihadys want
to take their families to their deaths,so be it.In my view,
its beyond sick, but I would imagine the ACLU already has the paperwork for their right to do so!

If one looks at the long view, sick and twisted as it is,
then future Jihadys would be eliminated, from the family
standpoint!

Oh ya,remember all of this in context,as The War On Terror
is still ongoing!
