HamNation wonders: How badly must one reek to bowl a 37?

posted at 6:10 pm on April 4, 2008 by Allahpundit

History demands an answer. What makes this distinctly a Hammertime production? Not the cheekiness of the conceit. No, it’s the layer of 80s popcult Velveeta drizzled on top via her choice of music, which is so familiar I won’t even deign to say where it’s from.

For the record, I would have gone with “Win in the End” from Teen Wolf, but different strokes etc. Click the image to watch.

What movie is that song from? I can’t remember? Karate Kid? Ugh.

I’m not three, but I would be more than happy to go bowl with MKH…

I can’t remember?

BANNED.

Is she the hottest thing out there, or what!?!

Oh, there was bowling too? Missed it…

Wasn’t it Karate Kid II?

upinak on April 4, 2008 at 6:21 PM

Is that pink ball a metaphor for Obama’s, er, girliness while bowling?

Sweep the leg, Hammer.

The best part? The, “I-love-what-you-do-for-me-toyota” jump at the end. Classic.

Its been a while since a nice Hamnation episode. What ever happened to the Peeps?

AbaddonsReign on April 4, 2008 at 6:25 PM

Put him in a bodybag Ham!

Zetterson on April 4, 2008 at 6:29 PM

Gotta love that gal.

Such bad bowling on Obama’s part is troubling. I however would ask the question – has he ever been bowling before?

If not that is just un-American. I mean really, most of the bowling balls are black (knocking down all the white pins), so what’s his problem?

Martin Lawrence has a theory (from Boomerang, skip to 4:00 min).

Agrippa2k on April 4, 2008 at 6:30 PM

What ever happened to the Peeps?

She promised us an Easter episode…
I’m still waiting.
She always did them with Favazza, but now that she’s at Townhall Magazine, I’m not sure if they have the time.

malan89 on April 4, 2008 at 6:31 PM

He only bowled seven frames. Still terrible, but technically she did do it.

Yoosaion on April 4, 2008 at 6:31 PM

wonder if Obama can throw a baseball? that is one presidential duty that would come his way and the last thing we need is a man that throws like a girl.

jp on April 4, 2008 at 6:31 PM

MKH, I need some bowling lessons, any time to tutor me when you come to the Twin Cities?

infidel on April 4, 2008 at 6:32 PM

Bowling sucks. I hate it with a deep, dark passion that falls somewhere between anime and vegetarian hot dogs.

I could, however, really get into Pin Shooting.

Hollowpoint on April 4, 2008 at 6:35 PM

The song choice could have been worse… MUCH WORSE

And I’m lovin’ the pink bowling ball…looks like a 12lb-er maybe? Heck, I’ve been bowling in a league for 6 years now…and with a 160 avg. I thought I stunk.

Shake hands with the head pin is really all ya gotta know.

JetBoy on April 4, 2008 at 6:35 PM

This might be Obama’s first speech as President.

His supporters will celebrate, thusly..

Agrippa2k on April 4, 2008 at 6:38 PM

I didn’t realize how bad a 37 was…! Jeeze, I never bowl, but I’m pretty sure I could do better than that.

right2bright on April 4, 2008 at 6:40 PM

Yoosaion on April 4, 2008 at 6:31 PM

From the looks of the scoreboard, she got 38 in the 8th frame.

I’m a little surprised that pro has never bowled a perfect game. God, 299, that’s harsh. That’s all of the pins and then on the final ball you get 9 instead of 10. That must have been depressing.

jimmy the notable on April 4, 2008 at 6:40 PM

forgot the quotes on that last post

jimmy the notable on April 4, 2008 at 6:41 PM

I never liked bowling much. My non-sport of choice was darts. There was a time when I was fairly good at it too but I’m not sure if that’s something to be proud of heh.

Benaiah on April 4, 2008 at 6:42 PM

She always did them with Favazza, but now that she’s at Townhall Magazine, I’m not sure if they have the time.

Those were Townhall joints. My fave is still this one, which gets even better every day. Except for the part where Allah gets steamy for Mother Ham.

Pablo on April 4, 2008 at 6:42 PM

Jetboy, I hate you, I had managed to forget that movie.

bbz123 on April 4, 2008 at 6:43 PM

Mary Katherine, you’re the best around!

ToddonCapeCod on April 4, 2008 at 6:44 PM

Obambi’s pitiful score can probably best be explained by all the ones he “rolled” during his college years yet had nothing to do with a bowling alley. His perpetual grin could be explained by his still rolling ‘em.

viking01 on April 4, 2008 at 6:47 PM

Mary Katherine Ham superior, Constructicons inferior.

ZK on April 4, 2008 at 6:47 PM

raiderdav on April 4, 2008 at 6:53 PM

A 37 really does suck. That might actually have been the first time Obama has bowled in his life.

It was great to see Mary. She makes bowling look sexy.

There has got to be a combination of the words “ball, pocket, lane, headpin, gutter, I’ve been pretty bad and ham” that will result in BANNED. Not gonna do it!

dmann on April 4, 2008 at 7:09 PM

What a funny video. Jump at the end made it – hahaha. Quality Ham, again – and so much better than the $100/pound stuff Obama was trying yesterday.

I love Ham but she needs breast implants.

Indy Conservative on April 4, 2008 at 6:53 PM

I have to refer you to this breaking news that you probably missed today:

The Drudge Report unveiled today a story about Hussein Baracks’ past.

Drudge linked to an article published in the Mozambican Tribal News claiming that Hussein had full knowledge before his birth that his mother was White and yet he continued growing in her womb until his discharge.

Mr. Hussein, in a press conference today, denied the accusations and said that for over 40 years he didn’t know that his mother was White.

It wasn’t funny, it was disrespectful. When you say things like that, you’re no better than the assholes in the Taliban that make women cover their face and walk behind them. Sure, AP and a lot of commenters here make comments on how she looks, but you just took it over the line and that wasn’t right. Instead of covering your ass behind “It was just a joke”, you should apologize.

MKH is adorable as usual. Movie is KKid. Here’s the video for Sweep the Leg, which was a pretty cool idea I thought.

It will be interesting to see if Barack Obama’s upcoming 3 on 3 basketball challenge in Indiana gets this much attention here at Hot Air. I don’t know if Barack easily swishing 3 pointers, making layups on a break away and dunking a basketball are in line with the “we hate Barack Obama narrative” that people commenting here are so dedicated to with their unhinged rage.

If I spent a few outings with Barack Obama coaching him on the basics of bowling he will up to a 160+ average in no time because of his natural athletic ability.

olympian2008 on April 4, 2008 at 8:44 PM

Looks like you had a lot of fun MKH. I’ve even tried a few of those off the wall shots like you did and actually got a strikea couple times. Otherwise, I can’t bowl to save my life but on a good day I can reach about 100. Then again, I only go bowling maybe once or possibly twice a year.

FloridaBill on April 4, 2008 at 9:39 PM

I like the moment of defeat for MKH. The music stops, and she covers her mouth like she can’t believe it. Her natural instinct is to be happy about a strike, but this strike signals her defeat (in the quest to get 37). Now that is quality stuff.

BTW, MKH obviously is a pretty good bowler (see said strike–good aim, good speed).

The best matches during that song are the other fighters, especially that one match where the guy who looks like an Islander (I think he eventually loses to Johnny) fells his opponent with that spinning back heel and his heel catches his opponent right under the nipple and the guy just goes down like a sack.
