Dude, it has gotten so bad here with political corruption, if Abraham Lincoln himself were to rise from the grave, walk out of his tomb, head to the nearest Greyhound Bus Terminal and purchase a one-way ticket back home to Kentucky, I doubt few here would be surprised. It is THAT bad!

I expect some hooker to come forward any day now and tell all about her relationship with the gov.

What’s his party affiliation? If he’s a democrat, we have an opening he’d be perfect for here in NY.

Don’t forget the Metro East area that includes East Saint Louis and several other ghettos. Large Dem crowd down here too and it’s Durban’s home turf. It’s tough being a Repub in these parts.

I’m going to take them down.

For the love of God and for the good of the people of Illinois, I wish somebody would. That goes for Blagojevich, Durbin, Daley, Madigan and the whole lot of ‘em. Including Barack. Every one of the scum bag SOB’s from top to bottom ought to be locked up. I cannot begin to tell you how much all of these people are loathed and despised south of I-80… Particularly Rod. However they keep getting elected year in and year out because Chicago and the collar counties dominate the electorate. So basically everyone else in the state has to bend over and take it. No thanks to our spineless, pathetic excuse for a state GOP by the way.

There are two kinds of Democrats:
1) Democrats who are in jail
2) Democrats who should be in jail

Illinois is the most corrupt state in the union in terms of state government. I can’t wait to see Rod in prison.

Unfortunately, the Republican party in Illinois is just as complicent, just as corrupt. They’re just dumber, doing things like not vetting candidates (Jack Ryan), importing Alan Keyes to run for senate, and pushing multiple-time losers (Oberweiss) for important seats because they think having money and name recognition is all that matters.

Maybe we need an independent governor. Anybody know what Ross Perot is up to these days?

Oh he most definitely is a Democrat and he is probably the most useless Governor this state has ever had since Dan Walker from a few years back. Blago has promised all sorts of things, but delivers on few of them. The things he has done is double the tolls on the Illinois Tollway (which was supposed to have been converted over to a freeway system years ago, until Illinois politicians saw the system for the cash cow it presently is) so as to pay for this massive idiotic roadway revamping project that has turned into a motorist’s nightmare for the last two years. He has also raised taxes, bloated the budget of the state, cut spending for education, attempted to instigate massive spending plans on some of his own pet projects, and even refuses to live in the governor’s mansion in Springfield, so he takes a private jet back and forth between Chicago and Springfield daily. For whatever goofy reason, people have re-elected this guy to office, but now, thanks to the Rezko trial, he may joining the club of former Governors we have had here in Illinois who eventually wound up going to prison on various corruption charges. In fact, our last illustrious Governor, George Ryan, is presently cooling his heels in prison for the next 6 years. With what was revealed at the Rezko trial, Blago may wind up sharing a cell with him.

IL politics is really dirty. I couldn’t believe what it was like when we moved there, but over the 12 years we lived there, I realized that it was just how things worked there. Ugh.
