Here's my take on it: The drive by media, the democrats and independents screwed me out of a chance to vote for anybody I could possibly support (i.e. Fred). This is just my way of paying them back for screwing me.

Considering that there technically is no such thing in Indiana as a Republican or Democrat (you're either a registered voter, or you're not, and that's it), the Dems are making asses of themselves again, which happens regularly there.

Somehow, this reminds me of a story about government recorded religious affiliation in Egypt that I read on Jihad/Dhimmi Watch. From what I remember, many who convert from one religion to another are not allowed to change their affiliation for government purposes. Is the next step to prevent Republicans and Democrats from switching parties?

What are they going to say? "No, you're not allowed to vote. You haven't convinced me that you're really a Democrat?" Talk about disenfranchisement? It's nothing short of voter intimidation. Perhaps someone could bring Dan Parker and others making these threats under charges?

As a lifelong Hoosier, I find this story odd. It's an OPEN PRIMARY. Twice I've tried to change my registration from independent to Republican and was told both times that it didn't matter and there was basically no way to do it. When you go to vote, you sign in, they check your signature against the rolls (after showing photo I.D. of course ) and they ask you which ballot you want. I don't know if they even keep track of which primary you vote in.

Haven't the Dems been trotting out all sorts of "I used to be a Republican, but after 7 years of the illegal/unethical/immoral/insane/adjective-of-your-choice Bush regime, I am now supporting a Democrat for President" people? I seem to recall seeing various ad campaigns where "die-hard Republicans" talked about how they had seen the light at last, and were voting for someone with a (D) after their name.

And now, when Republicans are actually doing it, en masse, it appears to be wrong? Oughtn't the Dems be celebrating?

We never had any serious polling place trouble till Beth White became County Clerk, especially the first time she ran an election. What a mess!

If you are an Indiana Republican, you have options:
- Vote in the democrat primary for Hillary, after not bathing, not wearing a wedding ring, with a Che Guevara T-shirt or Goth clothing to avoid harassment
- Vote in the democrat primary for Hillary, dressed in a suit and tie, and threaten to include any person who opposes your right to vote in a class action law suit. Be sure to repeat their name and visibly collect the name of witnesses.

“crossover with mischievous intent” sounds like a thought crime to me.

A class action law suit against Dan Parker would be a good way to financially reward foot soldiers in Operation Chaos. Surely some Indiana attorney could do this law suit pro bono.
.
If this is "mischevious intent, make the most of it!

OT:
As a “living-impaired American” I find these sorts of things detrimental to my right to be counted for any politician who is a Democrat. Do not disenfranchise the decomposing!

    Zombie Rights!

You are not a Terry Prachett fan.. are you?

back on topic:

“I’m only talking about crossover with mischievous intent,” Parker said of his party’s plans to challenge suspicious voters. “If there is a coordinated effort by Republicans to affect the outcome of our primary, that would be something the party would try through the challenge process to keep those voters out.”

then don't have an open primary..

the more I listen to people like Dan Parker the more I am sure they put loyalty to the 'Party' over country..

You are not a Terry Prachett fan.. are you?

back on topic:

“I’m only talking about crossover with mischievous intent,” Parker said of his party’s plans to challenge suspicious voters. “If there is a coordinated effort by Republicans to affect the outcome of our primary, that would be something the party would try through the challenge process to keep those voters out.”

then don’t have an open primary..

the more I listen to people like Dan Parker the more I am sure they put loyalty to the ‘Party’ over country..

My precinct in the West Indianapolis neighborhood is solidy Pubbie. But I know onw of the Pubbies that is always there at the polling place, so getting the ballot of my choice will not be hard. My goal is to vote against Andre Carson. It seems to me his toughest opponent will be Woody Myers.

We never had any serious polling place trouble till Beth White became County Clerk, especially the first time she ran an election. What a mess!

Which makes his goal obvious. Voter suppression.

Well, since they have an Open Primary, he can't really sue or prosecute anyone; so that must not be his goal.

Which makes his goal obvious. Voter suppression.

Odd, the first time in my life I see clear evidence of a deliberate misinformation campaign with a clear goal of vote suppression tied directly to either major party's leadership position; its the Democrats who are the ones caught.

I'm sooo disillusioned. I thought they were against this sort of thing. *shrug*

As a “living-impaired American” I find these sorts of things detrimental to my right to be counted for any politician who is a Democrat. Do not disenfranchise the decomposing!

Republicans in IN are 10 points more supportive of Hillary than Democrats: 56-35 vs. 54-42.

Rush, you magnificent bastard.

The Daily Kos Kooks advocated doing this in several Republican primaries.

Seems as though another chicken has come home to roost.
