I started with Kools, moved to Newports, then to Newport Lights, then Camel lights, then Marlboro Lights and quit.

I remember in High School we were all smoking methol, which is the worst. My Mother smoked Benson & Hedges Menthol 100s and at one time my older sister smoked Larks – remember them? Ugh.

Are they even still around?

Why? Because I openly stated THE FACT that Barack Hussein Obama is a muslim, and like any good muslim, fully intends on dying in jihad in order to reach the 7th level of heaven?

I guess that speaking the truth is now considered a “hate crime”.

You better call the “thought police” and have them arrest me for my “racism”.(I’m not sure how speaking against islam is racism…but I’m sure they’ll find a way to connect it…after they figure out what to do with the fact that BHO’s white mother was a muslim).

It is a sad day when speaking the truth is considered “bigotry” or a “hate crime”.

Yes, it does bother me that he smokes cigarettes. I hope he hides it from children so that they do not think it is cool.
It never bothered me that Gerald Ford smoked a pipe. Bill Clinton’s cigars did not bother me (as long as he just inhaled). But, now I have children so I worry what examples are set for them.

I’m surprised that there are not any photos of Chris Matthews lighting Obama’s cigarettes.
If Mr. Tapper feels that it’s his job to be a truth teller,here is where to start. How about Obama’s inconsistent claims about Reverend Wright. On the View, he said Wright is like anybody else who has said five or six five or six dumb things in his life but according to Obama, right wing radio keeps playing the five or six dumb things that Wright said. The View appreance was after his speech in Philly, where Obama fessed up that he has sat in the pews on numerous occasions where Wright made “fierce criticisms” of American policy. So which is it Barack? Either Wright said four or five dumb things or Wright frequently made “many fierce criticisms of American foreign policy” while Barack was in the pews? Which is it? Obama can talk out of both sides of his mouth and the media sits there like a bunch of sheep, or in the case of Chris Matthews,it seems that the excitement goes from his feet to his ………

I take it you mean that you don’t want BO smoking in any house, office, etc. It’s arrogant to smoke indoors unless you live alone. I don’t even like it when i smell cigarette smoke when someone is hanging their butt out their car window. (That brings up some interesting images).

I was kinda shocked when I found out that Ann Coulter is a smoker but that doesn’t change the admiration I have for her brilliant mind–most of the time. She isn’t running for office either. I’d like an honest person to be living in Our House, pretty please.

I quit one year, eleven months, and nine days ago. I did the laser acupuncture thing. It worked like magic. I’d always had trouble trying to quit; cold turkey, patches, gum, writing down when I had a cigarette, some little machine that was supposed to tell you when to have one… This worked. Immediately. I haven’t had one since, haven’t “needed” one. There have been thoughts of having one, but those thoughts are fleeting.

I emailed Obama around a year ago to recommend the people I used (I’m from the Chicago area and there’s an office downtown). I never heard back from him and it seems he didn’t take my advice.

Except that I don’t like feeling that I wasn’t being dealt with honestly. And as much as citizens who are suspect of the media might scoff at such a notion, many of us consider ourselves to be your representatives to help make sure our leaders are telling us the truth, and leading the country down a path we’re confident is the right one. (Corny, I know.)

Translation: Reporters know better about what is the Truth and what is the CORRECT path for the country because we’re special. We have access to the Truth. We understand every nuance of every word uttered by those who seek to lead us (even when we aren’t there in person), and we know every possible context in which these words were spoken. We wring our hands over every possible meaning associated with each word, and we only print the meaning we think makes sense, because….. nothing else makes sense to us.

As Sir Winston Churchill might have said, Journalists (reporters, editors, publishers, TV personalities, and pundits) and “the People” (Americans) are two peoples divided by a common language. Because, as we all know, the English language can never be misunderstood, misstated, or misinterpreted by journalists, but all the rest of us peons can’t understand when we are told in no uncertain terms by journalists that we can’t win in Iraq, we are what is wrong with the world today, and everyone else in the world hates us because of George W Bush, except all those folks who want to come here to live, and who want to buy American products so they can be cool like us, and every country that insists we take the lead in saving Darfur, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Africa, and Europe with our money.

Without a journalist to tell me so, how would I ever know my Mommy loved me, and my Dad was a tough old man? I guess it is a good thing I can’t read.

Smoking, I don’t really care. Stop/Start smoking I don’t really care how often or whether campaign officials are kept up to date with Obama’s latest ‘smoking status’. This is a presidential campaign! The real nugget here is the last line about ‘informing’ Americans about leading the country down the right path. Is this reporting news or opinion? Who do they represent? Let the people decide what the right path is – we do not need your interpretation.

Personally, I want a president that does bong hits and releases a million people from the prison system that don’t belong there. That would be a great start to downsizing government expenditures. An above post says something about the death of the Republican party. It needs to die, seeing it’s doubled the size of government and government spending in the last seven years. I’m an independent(was a Republican until the Talibangelists got a foothold with Reagan), but if I had to choose, Libertarian would be the way to go. Get government out of our lives. The Dems and Republicans have been playing “good cop,bad cop” with us for about 100 years. Time for that to end.

I’m a former smoker. I quit 20 years ago this past January after numerous bouts of bronchitis and respiratory infections. My doctor said quit and I did. So I sort of sympathize with Obama in this area because quitting is difficult but not impossible.
Like a previous poster my dislike for Obama is not his smoking or lying about it, but what he stands for.
