Not really. I don’t like Obama or McCain, yet one of them will be President. My psyche has already adjusted to this fact.

That was not what Romney said.

I know what he said. I know McCain was misquoting him. However, I believe that McCain correctly accused Romney of being less than fully committed to the surge. It was fairly obvious to me. I thought Romney made sure to mention time tables to hedge himself in case the surge would go down. He did it extremely well and it was hard to call him on that. But I do think McCain had a reason to be pissed.

It’s in that spirit that I think Obama is in a similar situation. McCain never said “we will fight a war for 100 years”. However, considering the reality, which is that Iraq is nothing like South Korea, Obama is well within his rights not to recite the convenient mantra of McCain but instead talk about what the real effect of his policies would be.
